@Olaf: thanks a lot for the Ethel Merman bonus track! :) Too bad there's still 6 unreleased tracks from the recording sessions...
And still my request link: Poltergeist II complete score (2cd) Willow [Complete Score] (2-CD) (James Horner) Beetlejuice [2-CD edition] (Danny Elfman) Casper complete score (James Horner) and any Harry Potter expanded/complete score
Filmpac... that is EXACTLY what I needed to know! Thank you!
I believe I've spotted that THSM track... isn't it at You Don't Have To Visit This Blog? I'll check it out.
To Trap A Spy is the UNCLE music? Okay, then... that's covered... I hadn't realized that's what it is.
Well, if you can find anything for 'Homecoming,' that would be WONDERFUL- meanwhile, I'll at least list it as still 'a possibility'
The Man... is destined to remain a mystery. Good to know.
Well, near as I read (unless I am getting my Goldsmith 'H' projects confused,) HELP was the same situation- theme by Jerry, main scores by Joel. If you do have the main theme, that would be great! Likewise for Hollister!
In any event, thanks so much for the info- as they say, 'knowing is half the battle!' That tells me very much about where to shift my focus now, and what to be looking for. Thanks so much!
@ VonCheech: here's a link about a Casper complete score (cover and tracklist only, in french) http://mysoundtracks.oldiblog.com/?page=lastarticle&id=1334884
Here is Poltergiest II 2-disc, I'm not sure who gets the credit for the upload though because I had it the link copied on word to download later. So I thanks for whoever supplied the link somewhere.
Culled from the collection, a little compilation of cinema jazz for a lazy Sunday afternoon.

Maybe I’ve been wandering around too much over at Sallie’s Vintage Place, but today I’m waxing a bit nostalgic. I don’t know what someone as young as Sallie is doing among the dusty detritus of musty old fartville, but she sure does trigger some reflections.
It struck how lucky we are to live in the electronic age, especially if you love movies.
When I was a kid, the only way you could see a movie was by going to the local movie house. (Hey! We had double features, a short subject, a newsreel, a cartoon and coming attractions all for 50 cents.) I can recall the late 50’s when MGM was the first major studio to sell a package of it’s old films to television and we were in pig heaven, even with editing and commercials.
Now we’ve got: movie theaters, network television, cable TV, pay TV, VHS, laser discs, DVD’s, streaming and downloading from the internet. And iPods. Don’t have to miss a flick. But I do miss the good old film noir: Those movies that told a story with a beginning, middle and end. And what great, great music.

@ isbum One theme, Ten versions. In addition to Tony's post of Lazy River, this is my own compilation of this song by Bing Crosby & Louis Armstrong, Bobby Hackett, Count Basie & The Mills Brothers (my fav.), Gene Vincent, Kenny Ball, Kid Ory & Henry "Red" Allen, Jonah Jones, The Manhattan Transfer, Sidney Bechet and Louis Armstrong (probably not the same version as Tony).
I think I was born in the wrong time, honestly. As long as I could remember, I prefered movies like Pillow Talk to the newer films. The "vintage" days are just more entertaining than today. We don't have any Cary Grants, or Audrey Hepburns, or James Stewarts now.
I'm having blast remembering the better times (even though I wasn't there to experience it first hand)!
Homecoming, A Christmas Story will have to be a little later.
@ ruggo - What a choice Noir collection, outstanding, can't thank you enough for sharing this with us!
@ tony - I second your request for I Spy the LP versions. I do have the FSM release, comprising five episode scores (and different from the LP versions, which Hagen himself re-recorded), but as this is a currently in-print item will have to await the next "naughty weekend".
@voncheech - both CDs for the TZ by Herrmann/McNeely are in the Pt 2 requests post. They were posted in reverse order but scroll through a bit and you will see both.
Filmpac- thanks, as always- that's wonderful! In this case, four at one blow... as coincidence of the date would have it, that makes them one of my better birthday presents today! :-) Thanks again!
Also... I did a litle checking of my own into "The Man." It's not much... if I could get ahold of the film, I could at least get the opening/closing credits... but here is what little I could record; my own track from Goldsmith's 1972 'The Man' which I'm calling 'The Oval Office.' (From the scene in which James Earl Jones first enters the afforementioned.)
@ zarm - Nice one. The internet gods must be smiling on you for your birthday. This was crawling down the line, then miraculously sped up. I can't find it listed anywhere, so I'm calling it a movie rip bootleg thingy. 33 untitled tracks, 41 minutes...
@denis- Glad that the episode will be useful to you. It has a few spots (where Captain Marvel is flying, mostly) where the music is played pretty much cleanly.
@thxjay- I have the Neil Norman disc that you're looking for. Give me a day or so to rip it @320 and I'll put up a link.
First and foremost huge thanks to my dear friend sallie for being my messenger of good tidings for our happy event. What would I ever do without you, sallie?
Secondly, coincidentally with the good things, I’m afraid that I have more computer problems, and until I can get them straightened out I can’t upload or download anything. I’ll update you with progress on that in due course.

Many thanks for your congrats – much appreciated.
I found at least one of the Les Baxter singles that you were looking for. Go here: http://rincon45.blogspot.com/ You will find, posted on June 28, The Poor People Of Paris, The Theme From Helen Of Troy, The Trouble With Harry and If You Can Dream.

Many thanks for posting the Bill Charlap, Andre Previn and the Dave McKennas. When I’m back in business I’ll download, and also confer with you about the Maybecks. I have stacks of them, including Barron, Friedman and Werner, which I’ll download when I’m able. Some of mine still sound OK. More on those later.

Glad that you managed to download Show Boat. Next time I’m there I’ll for sure contact you. Give you mum my regards and tell her I’m not into Castle but I’d love a Sparletta.

Thanks so much, pal, for your very kind congratulations and good wishes. I’d just like to point out that I’ve been a grandpa for nearly six years now, but the first two are girls and this is the first boy.

@ isbum
Many thanks for your congratulations. As you can see from the above, we’ll have to celebrate later with your great posts. I’ll be around as usual but won’t be able to make any contributions until my woes are over and my Faith is restored once more.
@ Sallie: i'm glad to know that i'm not the only "young" (i'm 31)one born in the wrong time... ;) Wish i could be born in the 20's or the 30's, it was far much better for movies, music, books than now.....
Just to say that the Vasks was me! :) Glad you liked it! For some reason my name came up as Chris. Dont ask me why. I have more Vasks if you want? Thanks
Is anyone there, who own the music of the trailer for "Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III", please ? Here's the trailer : http://movies2.nytimes.com/gst/movies/trailer.html?v_id=64069
I've noticed that 'Quest for Camelot' seems to have been quite the hit; it's my second-most downloaded file. I just wanted to ask, how does the music sound in 128? My original rip files were apparently lost over the last two or four system crashes, but I did a new 320 rip over the weekend. It's still one file, though, and I don't know when I'll find the time to break it into individual tracks.
Yesterday while rummaging through my Doyle folder I came upon Into the West, by the director of Harry Potter IV. I recall it was once rather rare, my CD was certainly quite expensive. This rip in 160, if I can find the CD, I can do a better one. I do by the way have quite a lot by this composer, he's one of my favourites, so if anyone has a request...
@goldiemusic: I have *some* music from 'V', downloaded from xyzcosmonaut. Also a file named "Lizard Trilogy", 22 files @192. Is that the one you want?
I just noticed your request for Max Steiner music on the 27th, including The Gay Divorcee. To the best of my knowledge Steiner didn't actually write any music for this film - he was the musical director. Songs were by Cole Porter, Mack Gordon & Harry Revel, and Con Conrad & Herb Magidson.
You can download the soundtrack from sallie's remarkable blog, http://thevintageplace.blogspot.com/
@ Hornconcerto: the Quest for Camelot @ 128 didn't sound bad, but it had the volume low... I'm pretty sure a 320 will sound better... ;) I've heard about another version of Quest of Camelot, by the way: Quest for Camelot (Quest Records CAM-CD790218 - 25 tracks, 81:50) I'd like to listen this one...
And yup, i've got a request... If you've got a complete score for Harry Potter and the goblet of fire (even a dvd rip with sfx), i'd be more than grateful. :)
I concur with "Donovans Brain" in the gratitude for the McNeely/Herrmann TZ scores. I also concur with the humble request for scores to any of the Hitchcock TV show scores. But I was also wondering if anyone had any scores for the 70's shows, the Night Gallery or the Night Stalker?
@attax - Very nice to see you drop by friend! I always get excited to see great bloggers like you show up. Best wishes from isbum, and thanks for all the great music you have shared with me!
It just keeps getting better and better- though it never woul've ocurred to me to ask... my 'Goldsmith Gal' is also a huge of fan of V (Who got me fairly hooked as well!)- thanks a million, voncheech!
@ tony, quinlan, filmpac Thanks for upping all those Lazy Rivers! I have to get my brothers wiz-kid at computers to see if I can snag and listen to any of them.
That Bond album, do you have any info on it, all I can find by that orchestra is an album called "Goldfinger & other james bond themes" but the tracklist is completely different:( Don't suppose you have a scan or picture of the cover?
THXjay posted a link (many thanks !) to a great jazz music blog where there is a multi-Dizzy-Gillespie Anthology covering 16 original LPs by him. On several of these LPs Lalo is playing piano, he also arranged a lot of the tracks.
Here's the direct link: https://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=1954368909926613039&postID=380038603328295561&isPopup=true
The Gillespie set (7 CDs) mentioned above has 4 LPs included where Schifrin participated: Verve VS-68401 An Electrifying Evening With Dizzy Gillespie Philips PHS600-048 Dizzy on the French Riviera Philips PHS600-070 New Wave! (on CD 4 + 5, there he plays piano and arranged) + Philips PHS600-106 Dizzy Gillespie & the Double Six of Paris (half of CD 6, there he just contributed the vocal arrangements)
i know we like our bits @320... now, should sample rate be 44.100 khz , 48.000 khz or set to auto...? do people perfer i use .mp3, rather then .m4a (aac encoder)..?
I can post Tangerine Dream's "Catch Me If You Can" Soundtrack, tomorrow for you. And will be @320. This is one of my favourite TD scores.
@ everybody
If anyone is interested, and if it is ok! with isbum, I can post Alan Parker's score to the Film "Stormbreaker" 11 - tracks taken from the soundtrack CD (minus the vocal tracks).
@Maimone Digital for the sake of being complete.. could you please go ahead and upload Pic a Nic Basket Volume four thank you..

@ voncheech - Personally, my preference is for mp3 over ALL other formats. Although, as hard drive sizes get bigger, and bandwidth faster, formats like m4a (and lossless, like FLAC and APE) are slated to become the new standard. The most common encoding I see are 320 bitrate mp3, 44,100 Hz sample rate. For more on sampling rates, check out Wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sampling_rate
Quiet here. I've got no uploads for today, but I am working on filling one of Breton Girl's old requests, expect some poltergeist activity coming soon:)).
Quite a few years ago I was sitting in a little neighborhood pub on the outskirts of Dublin, Ireland, having an afternoon pint, when the small radio behind the bar began a tribute to John F. Kennedy. The barkeep and I were the only two people in the place. We listened and talked about JFK, whom he felt was the quintessential Irishman in America. He noted my very American accent and poured me a pint on the house, pointing out that it was the 4th of July.
Some years later, I spent another 4th in a hotel room in Tel Aviv. I had gone there on business and taken my two teenage children. We stood out on the balcony in a dank, humidity-filled night and watched off in the distance as the small compound of the American Consulate celebrated with fireworks, creasing the Israeli sky with explosions quite different from a few others we had experienced.
I wanted to do something special here for the 4th, but John Phillips Souza seemed a bit trite, Scoredaddy had posted enough Copland for a hundred 4ths, and someone early on had already posted the wonderful Lincoln Portrait. So I wandered through the archives and there it was, essential Americana: PORGY & BESS.
This purports to be the “complete” opera, but George was always tinkering and various producers adding and subtracting. Sorry, no artwork or track list other than that imbedded in the 50 files, but at least it’s 320 kps and wonderfully American.
The sample rate for CDs is 44.1khz, so no point in going further. Other formats are technically better; DVDs I think are 96khz, and DATs 48khz, I think, but it's a moot point. 44.1 is right for all but professional mastering.
Porgy & Bess is considered an opera. Originally produced in 1935, this particular recording is a studio production of a fairly recent revival.
In 1959 Otto Preminger filmed Porgy starrring Harry Belafonte. The Gershwin estate owns the rights to the film and hated it so much they refuse to let it be re-released in any format. I liked it. But then, my taste is all in my mouth.
@ Filmpac: thanks a lot, but Skyrider beats everyone with his upload... ;) The version got about 10 tracks in the first cd and 8 in the second... If your is different, even just a little bit, please upload! :)
It's a wonderful live recording made at the underground church of Wieliczka in Poland, at 130 metres below ground, performed by The Warsaw Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Zdzislaw Szostak and 2 Chorus.

By the way, I am using the Hanna Barbera SFX library you shared with me in my podcasts. Great stuff. Keep your eye out and let me know if you see any more sound effects!
Thanks much for the Zbigniew Preisner. His collaboration with Krzysztof Kieslowski has provided some of the best cinema experiences ever.
If you want to see how a film maker turns music into an active and vibrant major character, treat yourself to “Trois Couleurs: Blu” (1993). And the fact that the movie stars the radiant Juliette Binoche doesn’t hurt.
I got a copy of Red Dawn from somewhere and it didn't have a track list. I went to Soundtrackcollector.com, but the times and the track#s don't match. The copy I have is 28 tracks, some of which are less than a minute. Does anyone have a track list to this version of the score?
@thxjay- Sorry for the delay, here's the 4th volume.
Greatest Science Fiction Hits Vol 4 by Neil Norman http://rapidshare.com/files/40714052/Greatest_Science_Fiction_Hits_IV.part1.rar http://rapidshare.com/files/40718067/Greatest_Science_Fiction_Hits_IV.part2.rar
The 128k rip sounded fine. I've had a great time listening to the score. "Ruber's Unlucky Day/Knighting Ceremony" is a particular highlight and has a very Disney-like feel to it which I like (kind of reminds me of Alan Menken's style for writing big finales). =)
It probably wouldn't hurt to offer a 320 rip as well for those who want to hear the score in better quality, but in any case I'm happy with the quality of the current rip.
Here is Tangerine Dream's soundtrack to:- "CATCH ME IF YOU CAN" (1989) (Not to be confused with Spielbergs film of the same title). Ripped from CD @320 and complete with artwork.

Enjoy!!!
@ isbum
Thanks for the go ahead with "Stormbreaker". Will post in a couple of hours.
I haven't really seen this one shared around ...maybe I missed it, but am sharing anyway in hopes it fills a hole in someone's collection. James Horner's Once Upon A Forest from 1993:
Any other Tangerine Dream fans out there, or fans of Michael Mann's "The Keep"?
Here' something you'd enjoy,it's as close as we'll ever get to the actual score from that fascinating but flawed film. Keep in mind this is NOT the official "soundtrack" that TDI released some years back. These are actual cues from the actual film score.
The source is the now-defunct Tangerine Tree trading group. This is really a nice effort to assemble the film score from various sources. The master quality in places is dodgy, in places excellent But since we'll never really see these tracks with an official TD release, this will suffice.
George M. Cohan was the man who owned Broadway during WW1, penning over three dozen shows from 1906-1926. His birth certificate showed he was born July 3, but the family always insisted that George had been "born on the Fourth of July!" Cohan became the leading songwriter of his time, publishing upwards of 1500 songs. In 1942, James Cagney won the Oscar for his portrayal of Cohan, and the film itself won Best Musical Score. It's missing the last few tracks sorry, some out-takes and rehearsals, but is otherwise complete. Here then for the 4th of July is...
@ breton girl - How odd, I missed that Poltergeist post. Thanks then skyrider. The one I found was also 18 tracks, so it's covered. Is there a Beetlejuice 2-CD edition? I can't see a cover for it on the plissken.free.fr site. Likewise Willow.
@ brobrer - Many thanks for The Hobbit! Any takers for Return Of The King, released on Disneyland Records, 1980. Fingers crossed, thanks in advance.
@ listening - Your Red Dawn appears to be an extended bootleg score thingy. I found some covers for you, not much in the way of track titles, but you can save the front and back covers and edit what little track names there are.
Can’t think of a better way to celebrate the 4th of July than to crank up the old stereo and fill the neighborhood air with about 75 essential western movie themes culled from many sources.
The other day, as some of you may have read, I destroyed my Toshiba by breaking off the AC connection pin on the motherboard, meaning I have no electrical power. I managed to get about half of the files onto an external hard drive until the battery ran out. How can I retrieve all the remaining files from this dead computer???
Thanks for the de Masi; great work in compiling as complete as possible versions of these two rarities. "Kill Them All and Come Back" ('68) is the 2 tracks from Vol. 3 of the Spaghetti Western Encyclopedia followed by Side Two of the 1978 twofer LP, right?
One Question, though: Can you give me the titles of the 2 sources for "Go Kill And Come Back" ('67)? [Looks like 7 tracks from CD and 4 from vinyl]. I'm tagging them, but having difficulty; looked at the SoundtrackCollector listings, but can't make it out. Thanks.
You'll need to remove the hard drive(s) and install them (temporarily) into a working computer. Then you should be able to get at all of those files and back them up.
Repairing and reformatting your computer would probably result in the loss of those files, at least any that are on the system drive. Good luck.
Just for the helluvit, here’s Kamen’s WHAT DREAMS MAY COME as requested along with the rejected score by Ennio Morricone. Who the hell would reject Morricone?
@filmpac- Actually, the track list you gave me for Red Dawn is an EXACT match, times and all. Thank you SO much! You're right, though- they didn't even bother to name even half the tracks. Kind of sloppy on their part, but at least I now have the original listings; thanks again! I'll listen to the tracks and look at the listing on Soundtrackcollector.com and just name them myself based on what was happening at the time, I guess.
@thxjay- Here is a scan of the cover of Greatest Science Fiction Hits IV. http://rapidshare.com/files/40903984/NN_Cover.zip I gave you two scans to chose from.

Thanks for the help. I'd buy another battery in a heartbeat, as that would be the easiest and cheapest way. I found them readily available on line, but I'm afraid that it wouldn't be charged if purchased new. :-(
In 1958 the brazilian composer Villa-Lobos written the soundtrack for the MGM movie "Green Mansions-A Romance Of The Tropical Rain Forest", directed by Mel Ferrer and starring Audrey Hepburn and Anthony Perkins. The score was adapted in Hollywood by Bronislaw Kaper to be used in the film. Here is the original version of that score, conducted by the composer. If you don't know his work, it's time to listen; you will "hear" the forest, the rivers and the indians from South America:

My good friends, I promised you some posts a while back. Indeed, I got as far as ripping them - all from tapes and LPs, I might add, which, being in real time and having to remove noise and clicks, takes a heck of a lot longer than ripping CDs.
As you may have noticed, I’ve had more than my fair share of computer problems in the last few months. But this one tops them all.
My hard disc (a new one, installed as a birthday present in January), was partitioned into 3 sections: Local disc C for general, Data D for my wife’s folders, and Newdata G for me which had all my folders – music, video, pictures and sundry information files. After the last bout of problems the other day, I managed to get the computer up and running and found to my horror that partition G had disappeared completely. That means that I’ve probably lost thousands of mp3 files, downloads, archived files ready for uploading (including the Andre Previn concerts and the Mel Torme/Buddy Rich for you guys) etc. I very much fear that these are irretrievable. My computer technician is my son-in-law who happens not only to be very busy at work right now but is also the father of a new infant, and isn’t able to take care of all of this right away. I have no alternative but to await his arrival (I am not a computer geek). That means I don’t have a destination to which I can download anything either. I really don’t know what caused this catastrophe and I seems that I’m going to have to try my best to find and download as much that I can remember I had to replace the stuff I lost when I get going again. I’ll never get it all back but I sure hope that the links that I do find will still work.
May this never happen to any of you good buddies.
I don’t know when I’ll be able to honor my commitments to you guys but I’ll do my best as soon as possible.
This may sound familiar, but I had a really bad day. And I come home and find your post and suddenly it is a good day again! Thanks. I don't know where you find this stuff!
@breton girl: Sorry. When I said I had most Doyles, I meant commercial releases. Not counting my own rip of 'Quest for Camelot', I have nothing beyond that. I couldn't even do a DVD rip with SFX, since I don't own the DVD (and indeed, have never seen the film, or read the books; I intend to read all the books in one go when they've all been released, and only then will I watch the adaptations). The volume for the new rip is a bit low as well; that's the way it is on DVD. I'll have to figure out how to increase it without overdoing it.
@clint's archive: I have 'Narrow Margin' @128 with 21 tracks plus 7 mostly short bonus tracks. Is that the one you want?
The Cheltenham Orchestra James Bond record seems te be more rare than I expected. The Goldfinger edition you referred to probably was the previous edition. My edition features an explosion at sea on the cover, and was rereleased several years later by the same label (Wyncote), yet attributed to a different orchestra, including the theme from Casino Royale. I will post scans from both covers asap.
Yes my friend, that is the one. Thank you very much, would be very happy to accept your offer, it will do me nicely until a higher bit rate appears. Look forward to it, thanks again!
@clint's archive: On second thought, or rather, on second look, forget that. I was quite confused a few minutes ago when I saw *two* archives proclaiming to be 'Narrow Margin' in the not-yet-listened-to Broughton folder. One was the 128 one I offered you, and the other had a larger filesize (bitrate 192) *and* a link to a blog. I checked, and it's still there: Broughton by way of Scoresofscores
many thanks for your kind words and the fantastic work here.
At the very same jazz blog there is also (much below) a 2 LP "Jazz at the Philharmonic" where Schifrin also performs. Also the "Gillespiana/Carnegie Hall Concert" CD, but I assume that you will have this. There are also interesting records by Richard Groove Holmes, Herbie Hancock, Andre Previn and Jimmy Smith which I didn't had before.
You know, I have the stupid idea of collecting everything by everyone who at least composed one film score in his life...
Still searching from Schifrin: El Jefe, Grabado en vivo, The Wrath of God, La clave. Traders please write me at jordan69@arcor.de
Here’s a little album I’ve put together to celebrate the 4th of July. Considering the timelessness of the pieces, it should be good 365 days a year. It features some unique works that probably have never been combined together. I mean, after all, who knew that RICHARD WAGNER actually composed a march for the American Centennial?
1 Liberty fanfare 2 An American Salute 3 Variations on "America" Charles Ives 4 America Epic Rhapsody pt1 "Oh America" Bloch 5 America Epic Rhapsody pt2 "Hours of Joy-Hours of Sorow" Bloch 6 America Epic Rhapsody pt3 "The Present - The Future" Bloch 7 American Centennial March: Richard Wagner 8 Stars And Stripes Forever: Souza

Ennioman PS Someone mentioned last week that they had a new CD rip for me of Bernard Herrmann's OBSESSION @320 Was not sure if I missed this or not? There's no rush at all, but just wanted to make sure I had not missed it.

@listening Thanks for the Neil Norman, especially the scans, nice one :)
@cedric It is indeed a rare one you have there, thanks for taking the time to scan the covers, really looking forward to it (as I'm sure many others are:)
I am working on the Complete Soundtrack from John Carpenter's "The Thing". Unfortunatley it is only a VHS rip so I'm not sure how the quality will turn out. I'll be working on it soon. If anyone already has this from a DVD rip please let me know. Thanks.
@ mel - Sorry to hear about your computer woes, may things work out for the best. Might I suggest you take it to a computer tech specialist, it may well be possible to recover data from the partition using some very specialized programs. Good luck. If worst comes to worst, I have no doubt we will do all we can to assist with uploads for you.
@ elias - Profound thanks for the Heitor Villa-Lobos album, it is really a joy to listen to. It would have been very interesting indeed had they retained it for Green Mansions, it is so fitting.
@ the spy jazzers - I've found a bloke on p2pland with a fine Bond related collection, lots of rarities, but they are ALL only @128 bitrate. I'll be sharing these in coming weeks, but if anyone can do better bitrate-wise I'd be mighty appreciative.
@ tony - Thanks! The 4th was great here. Had an electrical storm last night that turned my tent into Studio 54 with flashes coming from all directions. I wanted to experience a storm while I was here, and that one was a blast.
I thought I would make a compilation album for everyone to try. I'm a big classical buff, so enjoy this. The composer's name is David Gillingham. I think you all will enjoy his music, especially if you like 20th century, instrumental music. Enjoy!
This is interesting. According to the IMDb, Steiner, as composer, did contribute some incidental music to The Gay Divorcee, which was uncredited. To the best of my knowledge, no music other than the soundtrack that I have has ever been released, and if one attempted to rip any incidental music from the DVD it would be difficult to isolate Steiner's work as there was also some other original music by Samuel Hoffenstein and by Kenneth Webb.
Here’s something from Doug Ramsey’s blog Rifftides that’s not to be missed:
Dave Brubeck and Paul Desmond in duo were one of the great treats of the seventies even as Desmond contended with the lung cancer that was soon to end his life. Someone caught one of their reunions on tape--a short blues performance culminating in the "Audrey" or "Balcony Rock" melody that they favored for more than a quarter of a century. This is another example of why Desmond said that Brubeck was his ideal accompanist.
A slight correction though: the 1959 film version by Otto Preminger starred Sidney Poitier not Harry Belafonte.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porgy_and_Bess
I know this because I have been dying to get my hands on a pristine copy of this film but only found a horribly recorded bootleg. Curse the Gershwins for not releasing this classic!
Here is more James Bond and other soy music, from Paris Mitchel Strings and Brass, performing Thunderball, The Ipcress File, Man from Thrush and other themes:
This file includes the covers for the Cheltenham records! (Both Thunderball and Casino Royale) I have scanned them on an A4 sized flatbed scanner, so a) it's high resolution and b) I could not get the whole cover 'in' the picture; I'm simply no Q.
TERMINAL VELOCITY is one of my favourite lesser known soundtrack. I will post it tomorrow. (When I heard it, one of my first idea was: Joel McNeely would do a very good job on a James Bond movie).
For those of you interested in contemporary "classical" composers, here's one of my favorites. Robert W. Smith writes primarily for symphonic band, but that's not exactly a bad thing. I had the privilege of performing all four movements of his Divine Comedy with him conducting; a very difficult piece, I assure you.
This link contains two collections: http://www.gigasize.com/get.php/-1099971563/Robert_W._Smith.zip
Harry Belafonte co-starred in 1954 "Carmen Jones" with the same Dorothy Dandridge and directed by the same Otto Preminger that directed "Porgy And Bess" in 1959, there with Sidney Poitier. That's why ruggo made the mistake...
20 Western themes from Maestro Bruno Nicolai. Most recorded: 1970-1973, with a few from the sixties thrown in. Includes some knockout performances from Alessandro Alessandroni. Enjoy.
BRUNO NICOLAI Western Collection http://www.megaupload.com/?d=EZPFERQ8
I seem to remember that one of the region one releases of The Thing had an isolated score (as an extra or easter egg). I'm not 100% though.
Thanks to Filmpac for Cool Runnins! It's always great ot get an olde HZ score :O)
Would anyone know where I could find the score to the live manga movie Returner by Akihiko Matsumoto? http://www.soundtrackcollector.com/catalog/soundtrackdetail.php?movieid=61847
Ooohhh, Spy Jazz @128 is better than NO Spy Jazz @320 :)
@mel I know exactly how you feel, I had a similar experience and have now become very paranoid :) about making copies of everything just in case. The world of digital music is great but it only exists in the "virtual" world, I do like the peace of mind of having it on a "proper" format. What happens when your hard drive dies.....so does your music collection:(
As for all of us going back to vinyl, that takes me back to the good old days when I shared my music by sending cassettes to friends all over the world by snail mail...
My dear friend, I have in the past downloaded quite a few programs that convert any format to any other format.
With all due respect to you, and with no offence meant, none was difficult to manage (everything is easy when you know how, and I shouldn’t have used the word “complicate”). One or two of them did cause problems to my computer, but that’s beside the point.
My point is that I don’t want to be bothered with all this lossless nonsense. It’s a gross waste of my time. I’ve had enough of it. It’s bad enough battling to download the stuff in the first place what with rapidshare and megaupload giving us so much grief, plus the fact that lossless files are so much bigger and more to download than mp3s.
My philosophy is to ascertain what the standard is and go with the flow. The standard at present (and may it prevail for many years) is mp3 which is good enough for me and actually sounds great when played through my stereo system. If and when something else replaces it as standard, then I will have no option but to change with the times. And when that happens, I hope that it will be one format only as the new standard and not half a dozen competing formats as there seem to be at present.
I sincerely hope that you didn’t mind my ranting and that you will remain my good friend.
@ thxjay - Point taken about the spy jazz @128. So, here's what we'll do, I'll post what I find @128, and if someone can do it better please feel free to do so.
Anyone else noticed the new CD's coming from the Varese CD club? Some outstanding choices in this batch. Goldsmith, Conti, Bernstein, Waxman, North...I've ordered the ones I had to have and am considering the rest.
@ mel 1. sorry to hear about your computer woes. I am still considering what I must do to protect my data. 2. congratulations on your joyous event. Hope you enjoy being a grandpa! 3. while you were gone, I left you some nice Maybecks and McKenna. you can find them in Part 2 (June)
@ the spy jazzers - How fitting that the first of these Bond related posts come from a man with the moniker of Jimmy Bond! From 1965 comes a jazz session from the West Coast, headed by jazz veteran Bond. Many of the tracks are actually original numbers written by Bond and Warren Barker, titled after Ian Fleming books that had not yet been made into movies at the time of this album. Enjoy this shaken, not stirred gem...
@ Scoredaddy! Of course I remember now, and thank you my friend, I honestly thought it was more likely me missing it ;-)
@Dave Regarding THE THING, Waferer is absolutely right, I have the first Region 1 DVD of The Thing, the full score is isolated, not on the film but actually behind the full length Doc. Now, the good news is, I have already done all the tracks from this, some years back, and was sorting through my MD's last weekend and found it all over again! (Guess who forgot to Label it at the time). So I know it is all there, as I remember it is not a very loud recording, and had my MD recorder levels pretty near max when I was recording it. What I have not had time to do at the moment is drop it to CD, then rip it to MP3, it is one of those projects that I just have not got around to finishing. I will do this in the near future if you wanted to wait Dave? But it may be well worth looking around on Ebay etc for a second hand copy of the DVD, which I'd of thought you can pick up pretty cheap these days, as it was not Widescreen enhanced etc. Hope this helps Ennioman
hello I have two requests: 1)THE FUGITIVE 1993 2 CD version (Mazeltov Records 2002, info at http://www.soundtrack-specialist.com/howard_gallery_p1.html#fugitive_2cd_jnh_maz)
2) BLACK CORSAR (IL CORSARO NERO) Guido De Angelis
Well well well, look what I found when I went hunting for a cover pic for a future Bond post. Head on over to the The Tuna Melt blog for Ray Martin doing Thunderball, and Billy Strange doing Goldfinger. Not to mention a George Shearing and a Jackie Gleason.
Many thanks for your commiserations about my computer problem, I will keep you advised of any further developments.
Thanks also for your congratulations on being a grandpa (I've been one for a few years but this one's the first boy.)
Thanks as well for the Maybecks and McKenna - I've been making a lot of notes as to what I have to download if the worst comes to the worst and these of course are among them.
About the Maybecks that I burnt a few years ago: some of them seem to be still good, so a project for the future will be to upload them for you.
They include Ralph Sutton, Gerry Wiggins, Ted Rosenthal, Roland Hanna, Hal Galper, Gene Harris, Kenny Drew, Jr., Kenny Barron, Steve Kuhn, John Hicks, Walter Norris, Roger Kellaway, Jessica Williams, Jaki Byard, Fred Hersch, Buddy Montgomery, Toshiko Akiyoshi, Mike Wofford, Kenny Werner, Andy Laverne, James Williams, Don Friedman, Allen Farnham, John Campbell, Stanley Cowell and Mary Lou Wiliams. Pardon me if I noted any that you already have but I didn't have time to check. If they are okay, it looks like this will be an ongoing project for months when I'm back in business! And I haven't forgotten those that I promised you before.
Thanks so much for letting us know about The Tuna Melt. I was unaware that Traitor Vic was back in business. He has some tremendous stuff and I'm looking forward to grabbing some of it when I get going again.
Pity he doesn't have the very elusive Shearing "Blue Chiffon". I can't find it anywhere.
Well, quite an eventful week this has been! A busy and boisterous 4th- I hope it went well for all involved here! With some judicious E-bay bidding, my 'Goldsmith Boquet' is now nearly complete... or as complete as I know how to make it! At present, I am only missing five more scores- so if anyone has a lead on any of these, it would be greatly appreciated! The Waltons (1972) Pursuit (1972) Barnaby Jones (1973) The Lonely Guy (1985) Six Degrees of Separation (1993)
Also, I had a bit of a curiosity for myself... I have seen a number of sites with the 'Complete' score for Dennis McCarthy's Star Trek: Generations, but in reality they are just the 'complete' contents of the soudntrack CD, with sound effects included. Does anyone know of a complete or expanded score out there? So far, it is the only Star Trek Soundtrack I have been unable to discover an expanded bootleg for! Thanks, as always!
Nightmare on Elm Street 5: http://www.mediafire.com/?enfujbozw1i
The score to Halloween H20 was actually released under the name "Portrait of Terror", since John Ottman's score wasn't actually used very much in the movie.
Now this may be a long shot.. but has anyone got recordings of last years ubeda film music concert with poledouris or this years sonicemad concert with silvestri?
I'm still looking for animated movie soundtracks :
- Finding Nemo (official) - A Bug's Life - Cars (ost and score) - The Incredibles - Monster Inc (official) - Toy Story - Toy Story 2 - Shrek 1 (score) - Chicken Run - Flushed Away - Spirit - Ice Age 2 - Arthur and the Minimoys - Balto - Happy Feet (Album) - Iron Giant - Polar Express (official)
I'd like them all to be IN 320 KBPS... please...if possible...
Here is Joel McNeely's superb score for Terminal Velocity. Later he was to write the equally interesting (and underrated) score for the ill-fated Avengers movie. It's a pity he never made his big breakthrough. Imho he has the potential to write a superb score for a James Bond movie; I would love to hear him do that.
Despite him not having being summoned to join Her Majesty's Secret Service, in the mean time here is:
Thomas... most of those are in print, so I don't know if they can be posted here. I do, however, have my own bootleg Bug's Life complete score uploaded, which I believe is 320kb.
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=N36JVACJ
By the way, speaking of Toy Story 2 (as you were), I sunk $30 into the Ultimate Toy Box DVD set from Amazon.com because one of the listed features for Toy Story 2 was a score-only audio track, from which I intended to compile my own complete score recording as I have done for others I posted here like A Bug's Life, You've Got Mail, Rudy, etc. However, upon recieving the set, there appears to be no such audio track. Does anyone know if this feature exists on a different disc or region, or if a complete/expanded score to Toy Story 2 is out there?
I concur with you on McNeely's score to Terminal Velocity. I have always thought that it was a terrific score. In fact, I think that track 9 (Cadillac Freefall) is one of the greatest action cues ever written. It's tremendously exciting at the very least.

Outside is a full moon over a lazy little river called the Rock.
Welcome to July at our little house. Enjoy the music everybody!
Anybody got a nice version of "Up a Lazy River" for isbum?
@Olaf: thanks a lot for the Ethel Merman bonus track! :) Too bad there's still 6 unreleased tracks from the recording sessions...
And still my request link:
Poltergeist II complete score (2cd)
Willow [Complete Score] (2-CD) (James Horner)
Beetlejuice [2-CD edition] (Danny Elfman)
Casper complete score (James Horner)
and any Harry Potter expanded/complete score
Filmpac... that is EXACTLY what I needed to know!
Just realize that i forget an important request... *blush*

You're quite welcome!

If you are still around, I would like to thank you for wonderful contribution of Vasks' Violin Concerto! Wow! What an amazing piece!!
If you have anymore pieces by this composer, I would love to listen to them. I'm a big fan.
Thank you.
I know these have been requested in the past, but since we've several new visitors I thought I'd ask again :)
I SPY -Earle Hagen The LP versions.
One was on Capital and the other on Warner Bros. records.
Thanks all!
@ isbum
One theme, Ten versions.

Rip @ 320 from LPs
Hope you'll enjoy it mate
@ Voncheech-
Look for me in the forum you mentioned as "soundsgood"- that's me!
@ Ruggo-
I think I was born in the wrong time, honestly.
@ isbum - Four Lazy River's for you...
Gene Vincent
Manhattan Transfer
Si Zentner
Tommy Dorsey
http://rapidshare.com/files/40491878/VA-LazyRiver.zip
Update: I see a couple in Quinlan's collection, so you only get two new ones here.
@ zarm - And a bunch of assorted Jerry's for you...
HELP Theme (1991)
Hollister Theme (1992)
Take Her She's Mine, Main Title (1963)
To Trap A Spy, 2 tracks (1964)
http://rapidshare.com/files/40493872/JG-Assorted.zip
@mp
found it. thank you so much!!!
Filmpac- thanks, as always- that's wonderful! In this case, four at one blow... as coincidence of the date would have it, that makes them one of my better birthday presents today! :-) Thanks again!
Also... I did a litle checking of my own into "The Man." It's not much... if I could get ahold of the film, I could at least get the opening/closing credits... but here is what little I could record; my own track from Goldsmith's 1972 'The Man' which I'm calling 'The Oval Office.' (From the scene in which James Earl Jones first enters the afforementioned.)
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=HC9CZN4F (3.8 MB)
@ zarm - Nice one. The internet gods must be smiling on you for your birthday. This was crawling down the line, then miraculously sped up. I can't find it listed anywhere, so I'm calling it a movie rip bootleg thingy. 33 untitled tracks, 41 minutes...
Jerry Goldsmith "The Homecoming, A Christmas Story" (1971), bootleg @VBR-high:
http://rapidshare.com/files/40511363/JG-Homecoming.zip
Wonderful! Thank you! Wow, what a day- my list cut in half again! Filmpac, how DO you do it?! :-D
@denis-
Glad that the episode will be useful to you. It has a few spots (where Captain Marvel is flying, mostly) where the music is played pretty much cleanly.
@thxjay-
I have the Neil Norman disc that you're looking for. Give me a day or so to rip it @320 and I'll put up a link.

Hi gang,
First and foremost huge thanks to my dear friend sallie for being my messenger of good tidings for our happy event. What would I ever do without you, sallie?
Secondly, coincidentally with the good things, I’m afraid that I have more computer problems, and until I can get them straightened out I can’t upload or download anything. I’ll update you with progress on that in due course.

@ breton girl,
Many thanks for your congrats – much appreciated.
I found at least one of the Les Baxter singles that you were looking for. Go here:

Many thanks for posting the Bill Charlap, Andre Previn and the Dave McKennas. When I’m back in business I’ll download, and also confer with you about the Maybecks. I have stacks of them, including Barron, Friedman and Werner, which I’ll download when I’m able. Some of mine still sound OK. More on those later.

Howzit isidingo,
Glad that you managed to download Show Boat. Next time I’m there I’ll for sure contact you. Give you mum my regards and tell her I’m not into Castle but I’d love a Sparletta.

@ isbum
Many thanks for your congratulations. As you can see from the above, we’ll have to celebrate later with your great posts. I’ll be around as usual but won’t be able to make any contributions until my woes are over and my Faith is restored once more.
BLOG UPDATED!!
@ Mel: thanks a lot for the link! :)
@ Sallie: i'm glad to know that i'm not the only "young" (i'm 31)one born in the wrong time... ;) Wish i could be born in the 20's or the 30's, it was far much better for movies, music, books than now.....
@sallie
All times are "better times" for someone or another. Enjoy what you've got. Someday they'll be better times too.
Tough Requests:
Maury Laws "The Hobbit" (1977) (@ better than 128 bitrate)
Maury Laws "Return Of The King" (1980)
Gosh, i follow Filmpac requests!!!!!!
Even The Hobbit in 128 may be good for me, by the way (i haven't got it)... ;)

Thank you, guys.
@hornconcerto
Yes thats the one !!
Would be great if you could upload it
Many thanks!!
Hey guys, just wanted to thank you for all the uploads :) very appreciated. Greetings

i'd guarantee you that the 'lizard trilogy' was simply assembled from cuts off of those composer promo's.
@ amadues
I just noticed your request for Max Steiner music on the 27th, including The Gay Divorcee. To the best of my knowledge Steiner didn't actually write any music for this film - he was the musical director. Songs were by Cole Porter, Mack Gordon & Harry Revel, and Con Conrad & Herb Magidson.
You can download the soundtrack from sallie's remarkable blog, http://thevintageplace.blogspot.com/
I also have ONE request:
Of love and Shadow by Jose Nieto
was released in Great Britain.
PLEASE anyone. Thanks
@ Hornconcerto: the Quest for Camelot @ 128 didn't sound bad, but it had the volume low... I'm pretty sure a 320 will sound better... ;)
I've heard about another version of Quest of Camelot, by the way:
Quest for Camelot (Quest Records CAM-CD790218 - 25 tracks, 81:50)
I'd like to listen this one...
And yup, i've got a request... If you've got a complete score for Harry Potter and the goblet of fire (even a dvd rip with sfx), i'd be more than grateful. :)
And thanks a lot for Into the West! :)

IMHO the "and if you had two coats" blog would indeed be a great site for jazz if most of it was in the standard mp3 format.
I really don't see the point of all these flacs and oggs etc. They only serve to complicate my life big time.
@mp
I tell you... this place... it's like magic! :-D
@ tony, quinlan, filmpac
Thanks for upping all those Lazy Rivers!
I have to get my brothers wiz-kid at computers to see if I can snag and listen to any of them.
@cedric
That Bond album, do you have any info on it, all I can find by that orchestra is an album called "Goldfinger & other james bond themes" but the tracklist is completely different:(
Don't suppose you have a scan or picture of the cover?
Thanks
To all LALO SCHIFRIN completists:
THXjay posted a link (many thanks !) to a great jazz music blog where there is a multi-Dizzy-Gillespie Anthology covering 16 original LPs by him. On several of these LPs Lalo is playing piano, he also arranged a lot of the tracks.
Here's the direct link:
https://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=1954368909926613039&postID=380038603328295561&isPopup=true
The Gillespie set (7 CDs) mentioned above has 4 LPs included where Schifrin participated:
Verve VS-68401 An Electrifying Evening With Dizzy Gillespie
Philips PHS600-048 Dizzy on the French Riviera
Philips PHS600-070 New Wave!
(on CD 4 + 5, there he plays piano and arranged)
+
Philips PHS600-106 Dizzy Gillespie & the Double Six of Paris
(half of CD 6, there he just contributed the vocal arrangements)
@mel
flac? Ogg? Mp4? ape?
No problemo.
I've been using "Easy CD-DA Extractor (Professional) and absolutely nothing phases me anymore.
I can convert any format from or to any other format, burn CD's, burn MP3 compilations, AND...rip any CD to any kps I wish.
And it's really, really easy...just like it's name says. Fantastic product. I should get a commission for this.
any solutions for the mac and itunes?
i have some .flac and .wma i need to change.

I can post Tangerine Dream's "Catch Me If You Can" Soundtrack, tomorrow for you. And will be @320.
This is one of my favourite TD scores.

If anyone is interested, and if it is ok! with isbum, I can post Alan Parker's score to the Film "Stormbreaker" 11 - tracks taken from the soundtrack CD (minus the vocal tracks).

For more on sampling rates, check out Wiki:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sampling_rate
Quiet here. I've got no uploads for today, but I am working on filling one of Breton Girl's old requests, expect some poltergeist activity coming soon:)).
Hey Breton Girl, looks like Industrial Cocktail might have beaten me, I spy a Poltergeist II (2CD). Let me know if that was the one you wanted.
Summertime, and the livin’ is easy….

@ ruggo - Nice one pal. Can you shed a little more light on Porgy & Bess? Movie, stage, opera, (d) all of the above?
I've got two things in mind for the 4th, neither of which have been posted before I believe. But more on that a little later.
@ voncheech
The sample rate for CDs is 44.1khz, so no point in going further. Other formats are technically better; DVDs I think are 96khz, and DATs 48khz, I think, but it's a moot point. 44.1 is right for all but professional mastering.
@ filmpac and Breton Girl
Maury Laws' "The Hobbit"
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=4C7E9SPP
@filmpac
@ Skyrider: thanks a lot for The Hobbit! :))

@ hornconcerto
The 128k rip sounded fine. I've had a great time listening to the score. "Ruber's Unlucky Day/Knighting Ceremony" is a particular highlight and has a very Disney-like feel to it which I like (kind of reminds me of Alan Menken's style for writing big finales). =)
It probably wouldn't hurt to offer a 320 rip as well for those who want to hear the score in better quality, but in any case I'm happy with the quality of the current rip.

I'd prefer mp3. =)

"What Dreams May Come" by Michael Kamen.
any help???
Can’t think of a better way to celebrate the 4th of July than to crank up the old stereo and fill the neighborhood air with about 75 essential western movie themes culled from many sources.

HELP!!!!
The other day, as some of you may have read, I destroyed my Toshiba by breaking off the AC connection pin on the motherboard, meaning I have no electrical power. I managed to get about half of the files onto an external hard drive until the battery ran out. How can I retrieve all the remaining files from this dead computer???
@ mr.t
Thanks.
Posted for another blog, but you cool cats can enjoy it too...

You'll need to remove the hard drive(s) and install them (temporarily) into a working computer. Then you should be able to get at all of those files and back them up.
Repairing and reformatting your computer would probably result in the loss of those files, at least any that are on the system drive.
Good luck.

Actually, the track list you gave me for Red Dawn is an EXACT match, times and all. Thank you SO much! You're right, though- they didn't even bother to name even half the tracks. Kind of sloppy on their part, but at least I now have the original listings; thanks again!

@ All my American buddies, I wish you a very happy Independence Day.
@ quinlan and scoredaddy
Cheers.

The Satan Bug, by Jerry Goldsmith

@ THXjay
The Cheltenham Orchestra James Bond record seems te be more rare than I expected. The Goldfinger edition you referred to probably was the previous edition. My edition features an explosion at sea on the cover, and was rereleased several years later by the same label (Wyncote), yet attributed to a different orchestra, including the theme from Casino Royale. I will post scans from both covers asap.
@ hornconcerto

Hi Isbum,
many thanks for your kind words and the fantastic work here.

@ amadues
@ filmpac
Thank you very much for your kindness and your valued advice.
I will keep you advised of any further developments.
@ quinlan and Dave Brubeck / Paul Desmond fans
Here’s something from Doug Ramsey’s blog Rifftides that’s not to be missed:
Dave Brubeck and Paul Desmond in duo were one of the great treats of the seventies even as Desmond contended with the lung cancer that was soon to end his life. Someone caught one of their reunions on tape--a short blues performance culminating in the "Audrey" or "Balcony Rock" melody that they favored for more than a quarter of a century. This is another example of why Desmond said that Brubeck was his ideal accompanist.

TERMINAL VELOCITY is one of my favourite lesser known soundtrack. I will post it tomorrow. (When I heard it, one of my first idea was: Joel McNeely would do a very good job on a James Bond movie).
Best wishes,

For those of you interested in contemporary "classical" composers, here's one of my favorites. Robert W. Smith writes primarily for symphonic band, but that's not exactly a bad thing. I had the privilege of performing all four movements of his Divine Comedy with him conducting; a very difficult piece, I assure you.

Harry Belafonte co-starred in 1954 "Carmen Jones" with the same Dorothy Dandridge and directed by the same Otto Preminger that directed "Porgy And Bess" in 1959, there with Sidney Poitier. That's why ruggo made the mistake...

You're absolutely right. Once bitten, twice shy.
As for all of us going back to vinyl, that takes me back to the good old days when I shared my music by sending cassettes to friends all over the world by snail mail...
@ goldiemusic - Someone here shared "Fluke" with 7 Black Notes a while back. I have it back in L.A. if you can wait till the 12th.
Mebbe 7 Black's readin' this and can help you get it sooner.
@ mel - I did the same thing with cassetts. We're just the kinda music lovers that had to share it any way we could.
Dem's was da days, huh? :)
@ ruggo
@ goldiemusic - I love it when someone requests something already upped...

If you like choral music, this guy is for you. But his orchestral music is wonderful also.
Enjoy!
Anyone else noticed the new CD's coming from the Varese CD club? Some outstanding choices in this batch. Goldsmith, Conti, Bernstein, Waxman, North...I've ordered the ones I had to have and am considering the rest.
@ mel
1. sorry to hear about your computer woes.
James Bond Sextet - "The James Bond Songbook" (1965), CD @128:

Please note that if anyone can improve on the bitrate of this and other Bond related posts to come, please feel free to do so. Thanks!

Hi Isbum,
what about the days when we were sitting in front of the TV holding a microphone to record the main titles of some films and series ?
I got my first Schifrins that way (Petrocelli / Starsky and Hutch)
A hard to fill request from this time: the fantastic main title of the Australian action series "Barrier Reef", probably composed by Eric Jupp.
@ Scoredaddy! Of course I remember now, and thank you my friend, I honestly thought it was more likely me missing it ;-)
@Dave
Regarding THE THING, Waferer is absolutely right, I have the first Region 1 DVD of The Thing, the full score is isolated, not on the film but actually behind the full length Doc.
Hope this helps
Ennioman
OK. Thanks Ennioman. I'll wait.

The offer of fluke is great thanks!!
Filmpac- the fluke link is not working - never mind!!
hello I have two requests:
1)THE FUGITIVE 1993 2 CD version (Mazeltov Records 2002, info at http://www.soundtrack-specialist.com/howard_gallery_p1.html#fugitive_2cd_jnh_maz)
2) BLACK CORSAR (IL CORSARO NERO) Guido De Angelis
thanks
@ goldiemusic - My bad, there is a rotten "br" tag at the end. Use this link instead for Fluke:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=944LC2P0
Thanks to loungetracks, I now have the Warner Bros. LP release of I SPY.
Now, not to kick a dead horse, but if there is some kind soul who has the Capital Records version of I SPY, I would be forever grateful. :)
@filmpac
All ok now thanks!!
Well well well, look what I found when I went hunting for a cover pic for a future Bond post. Head on over to the The Tuna Melt blog for Ray Martin doing Thunderball, and Billy Strange doing Goldfinger. Not to mention a George Shearing and a Jackie Gleason.
@ scoredaddy
Keep you fingers crossed!
@ filmpac
The Waltons (1972)
Pursuit (1972)
Barnaby Jones (1973)
The Lonely Guy (1985)
Six Degrees of Separation (1993)
Also, I had a bit of a curiosity for myself... I have seen a number of sites with the 'Complete' score for Dennis McCarthy's Star Trek: Generations, but in reality they are just the 'complete' contents of the soudntrack CD, with sound effects included. Does anyone know of a complete or expanded score out there? So far, it is the only Star Trek Soundtrack I have been unable to discover an expanded bootleg for! Thanks, as always!
Hello I was curious if anyone has the Film Scores to
Halloween H20
and
A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child
I have been looking and looking but haven't been able to find these two scores. Thank you in advance.
@ isbum & Andre Previn fans
I'd forgotten about this one: The Four Dimensions of Andre Previn - Composer, Arranger, Conductor, Pianist.
You can get it here:
http://moodietoonz.blogspot.com/
@kingdomcm
Halloween H20:
http://www.gigasize.com/get.php/-1101029856/Halloween_H20.zip
Nightmare on Elm Street 5:
http://www.mediafire.com/?enfujbozw1i
The score to Halloween H20 was actually released under the name "Portrait of Terror", since John Ottman's score wasn't actually used very much in the movie.

JOEL MCNEELY'S TERMINAL VELOCITY
Dear friends,
Here is Joel McNeely's superb score for Terminal Velocity. Later he was to write the equally interesting (and underrated) score for the ill-fated Avengers movie. It's a pity he never made his big breakthrough. Imho he has the potential to write a superb score for a James Bond movie; I would love to hear him do that.
Despite him not having being summoned to join Her Majesty's Secret Service, in the mean time here is:
http://rapidshare.com/files/41382698/tv.zip.html
Best wishes,
Cedric,
who is off on a three week holiday
Thomas... most of those are in print, so I don't know if they can be posted here.
Hello there ! :-)
I haven't show my blog here, yet.
So here it is : http://soundtrack-area.blogspot.com/
I have posted a lot of soundtracks on it !
There is some of my DVD Audio Rips, etc ...
Enjoy ! ;-)
And for the Schifrin's lovers, Ghoulies had just uplodaded a pretty good rip of Amityville II... :)
@ cedric
I concur with you on McNeely's score to Terminal Velocity. I have always thought that it was a terrific score. In fact, I think that track 9 (Cadillac Freefall) is one of the greatest action cues ever written. It's tremendously exciting at the very least.
