@Filmpac

Did you find your "Barry Plays" ?

Here two vinyl rips (not mine, thanks to the original poster)@320

1)@ benoit - As the resident Morricone expert, I think I might need to enlist your assistance here. A recent acquisition, it came listed as "Recording Sessions", but I am not familiar with the film, so could you please confirm it is at least from the movie. To confuse the issue more, the tracks (untitled) don't conform with the enclosed back cover. If legit, it makes a fantastic addition to Morricone Lover methinks...

Ennio Morricone "Fraulein Doktor" (1969), recording sessions @320:
http://rapidshare.com/files/72997885/EM-FrauleinDoktor.zip

2)Zimmer's Arthur must be "King Arthur", yes?

1) @ Filmpac thank you so much, today i has downloaded Album Fraulein Doktor-wow,very nice album. And actually ,like peoples said on www.chimai.com Track "Il Sottomarino" from "Fraulein" is actually "Troppo Tardi" from "La Piovra-4"(89).
This track really used by in La Piovra-4 and 5-6 parts,Troppo Tardi
Here in 2-nd DISC
http://my.opera.com/Morricone%20lover/blog/la-piovra-2006
And my minds about it
In your version-18 tracks, but in Cover 14 tracks without names-just Sequence number 1,2,3.....14 [Untitled-like you told]
http://files.myopera.com/eda-88/albums/307963/IMG3Y3XAYT7IX.jpg
And i don't know what is from these tracks is "Il Sottomarino" track name ,but actually from your Fraulein Doktor Version..
Track "Troppo Tardi" with little another Arrange, actually are tracks
-Track 4
-Track 7
-Track 10
-Track 11 (Seq 11)
-Track 15 (Seq 15)

Well, these tracks actually Used in La Piovra 4 and Name was Troppo Tardi on La Piovra Soundtrack.
Just Compare all These tracks with Troppo Tardi and tracks Actually like Troppo Tardi...

Thanks Filmpac!!

2) About Arthur-yeah..that's right, because Georges said Zimmer and Arthur- and i think he told about "King Arthur"-because Zimmer don't have the "Arthur"..

PS Yeah...Y.L. is right,i'm actually often use the Translator On-Line,Sorry guys and boynotorious ,but i'm really not good all understanding all Your discussion, but i like it-to read and learn all your phrases!!!

I don't speak enough english to give my own impressions (i might use an online translator as eda88)
so i choose notes from "B Monster" :

Alexander Courage forever entered the pop consciousness when he composed the Star Trek theme. Twice he was nominated for Oscars, most notably for scoring Doctor Doolittle. But I'm willing to bet he never again worked with musicians the caliber of those who enliven the Hot Rod Rumble soundtrack. Guitar great Barney Kessel is on hand, as are Maynard Ferguson, Pete Condoli, Shelly Manne, Dave Pell and more.

Here's one that I searched a long time to find and I don't believe i've ever seen shared around these parts.

Ira Newborn - "Ace Ventura : Pet Detective"

http://rapidshare.com/files/74793154/Ace_Ventura_-_Pet_Detective.rar

I love this guy's scores! I also have The Naked Gun if anyone's interested.

Alrighty then!

BOYNOTORIOUS said...

@ Comeback Shane

You should have asked me for the Ace. My copy of NAKED GUN got whacked by Norburg's dumb ass. I'd love a link to solve that case.

@ All

Anyone but me get their paws on Howard Shore's Rejected KING KONG Score in the last few days? Just wondering if I need to leave it exclusive to The Daydream or not.

bistis6 said...

@ boynotorious

No pawing here, but that'd be an A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. share, here or at The Daydream!

Anxiously awaiting my invite, too.

BOYNOTORIOUS said...

@ bistis6

No worries. Still working out some issues before I can re-launch. Let's just say the "NOC LIST" is taking some time to achieve. I didn't respect the size and magnitude of it.

As I said before, thus far, only two rejected souls and both are already notified.

BOYNOTORIOUS said...

@ All

One more thing about that NOC LIST.

Do you guys prefer to look at lists Alphabetical by Title or by Composer?

I'd normally poll this type of decision. However, I don't want to have to post this thing twice. So most votes here either way by the end of the day is the way I am going to format it.

Vote away people.

@ Comeback Shane

Scratch the King Kong. Turns out some idiot is trading off copies with cues from John Frizzell's Primeval Promo. He could have at least picked something a bit more obscure if he was trying to pull this off. Newbie Moron.

Beware any release of this with 9 tracks. Track Listing would be:

1. Introduction/Titles
2. New York City
3. Skull Island
4. Ending Zone Town
5. Sacrifice Sequence
6. Jack & The King
7. Capturing The Beast
8. King Kong Unleashed
9. Building Ascent

I you stay on your decision to post Monty Norman's "James Bond Theme" from Dr. No OST, you should try this one.
It's the track I previously posted but with a better sound in my opinion than my LP rip. I picked it up somewhere in blogland (thanks to the original uploader) and I guess it's a CD rip.

isbum, you're my hero. Can't wait to listen to this, it's gonna make a boring workday go by MUCH faster.

I'll bug my bro about the 320 rip this weekend- if he's got the actual CD I'm sure he'll be able to help me out.

He's gonna be just as excited to hear Les Gants Blancs Du Diable as I am, I'm guessing.

Thanks again!

@ boynotorious - You're not the first to get suckered by Shore's Kong, my man. And composer or alphabetical, me no care.

Luis Bacalov "Sugar Colt" (1966), @192:
http://rapidshare.com/files/74831438/LB-SugarColt.zip

@ segroeg - I am still looking for anything titled "John Barry Plays", but thanks HEAPS for your two Barry posts, much appreciated. And Hot Rod Rumble too, terrific find!

@ breton girl - I've gone searching for your requests before, with no luck. Still no luck really, except for some Willow unreleased music @128 bitrate. However, nobody is calling it complete, and I don't know the source of the music, but can post if interested.

@ eda-88 - Fraulein Doktor, is it really Fraulein Doktor, or La Piovra?

Isbum said...

@ boynotorious - So, do I have to send you an email request for admission to your private blog, or should I just drop you a bill for all the free advertising space?

BiG ;)

BOYNOTORIOUS said...

@ filmpac

I feel a bit better now. Not much. Thankfully I haven't seen the film to have given it a proper post on The Daydream anyway.

@ Isbum

You would have gotten one requested or not. Feel free to send a bill.

@ Mr. Remember

I got an unrelated e-mail from you awhile back. So no worries. I'll send it from that e-mail.

@ Breton Girl

I found a version of TREMORS labeled EXPANDED SCORE on a friends list. He also had the Promo Listed so I am hoping it's a possible fix for you. Sorry it's not Complete. I'll keep my eyes open. I'm having him check it out before you do the happy dance. He's out of town for a few days and will let me know next week. Stay Tuned.

@ Comeback Shane

I was actually looking for the Soundtrack. I have that version of the score at 320k if your interested in an upgrade? Hell, I might even give it a post at The Daydream. The Trailers alone are worth the post.

Isbum said...

@ filmpac - In honor of your difficulty getting the Three Blind Mice exterminated via Walther PPK, I'll be posting Three Blind Buys.

@ filmpac

I didn't mean to upset anyone. I think you SHOULD fulfill requests for those who contribute. I'd contribute if I could. Believe me.

Comeback Shane said...

@boynotorious

Wow, i didn't even know there was a soundtrack! I only remember Randy Newman's "I Love L.A" and Herman's Hermits' "Something Tells Me I'm Into Something Good" even being played in the movie, and I have got those if you need them.

Also, an upgrade won't be necessary unless, of course, you just feel like putting it up.

And I forgot to mention that my vote would be for your list to be by title rather than composer, but it ain't no thing but a chicken wing.

BOYNOTORIOUS said...

@ Filmpac

You can take this one of two ways. First: Yours is the only name I didn't type manually as it meant the least to me. Second: Yours is the only name I actually copied/pasted as it was the only one I cared enough about to get right.

I think the truth behind this situation is obvious here. :)

filmpac said...

@ mr remember - Don't get me wrong, but I have the same attitude towards folk who don't share on file *sharing* programs. My usual response is usually something along the lines of "What, you just woke up this morning and discovered music?".

So, this belief that you would contribute if you could, doesn't wash with me. Everybody owns at least ONE CD! Rip it, and share it with the group. If you don't know how to rip a CD, then ask. If you don't know to zip it, then ask. If you don't know how to upload it, then ask. We ain't bad guys really, we're here to help.

Even if just one person downloads it! You'll feel better, really:))

Re: Fräulein Doktor,

I'll vote a provisional "no". As mentioned, track times in no way match the tracklist timings. The back cover's track 1, at 8:46, more or less matches the only released version (according to SC), a suite on a 1970 Ita. LP. That would make sense, but there is no music of that length included.

eda-88 (our resident La Piovra expert) is, of course, right about the "Troppo Tardi" theme appearing on the purported "Fräulein Doktor". I don't think it's simply the same theme re-used. It never sounded like '69 Morricone to me anyhow.

On the other hand, Italianjob says that his copy is different (it includes dialogue), but contains the same music, which would tend to suggest that it IS "Fräulein Doktor", though it may be that they are both the same and that someone at some stage ditched the dialogue tracks from the fi... sorry, Filmpac version. Perhaps Italianjob could let us know whether the dialogue sections - which likely ARE from FD - contain any music which matches the music tracks.

In absence of that information, the preponderance of evidence leads me to suspect that it is not what it purports to be.

@ Comeback Shane,i like Ira Newborn too,thanks!)

Thanks,3410 for interesting information for me especially:))
I've seen SC
http://soundtrackcollector.com/catalog/soundtrackdetail.php?movieid=21255
And they don't Including Filmpac Version?
Why?
Because it is Actually Bootleg? [Like ML wrote on his Blog] or Recordings Sessions....i don't good understanding these Bootleg or Recordins Sessions,or it is Same?
And do you seen the Info on www.chimai.com about Fraulein Doktor,i can't give link , but please visit to that site, because they wrote Only 4 tracks released in FD,and i'm confusing..
And i'm sure these 4 tracks
-Il Sottomarino [1:02] [like as Troppo Tardi],
-Marcia Dei Gas (2:54);
-Mine Contro il Hampshire [2:17];
-Prima Dell'assalto [5:45] and Reused Tracks
-"Reticolato 1916"[1968]-2:45.
And they wrote Ennio Morricone and Bruno Nicolai...

But 3410 is really right,Troppo Tardi not Fraulein Doktor...perhaps it another...not Same Theme.
(Like Morricone Used Chi Mai on Professionnel and Maddallenna, like he used in Theme from La Cugina-"De Copalamo"-is Really Was "SECONDA BORGHESIA" in Piazza Di Spagna, tracks "Bach" from Le Professionnell is was in LA GABBIA...so more example),but Troppo Tardi not Fraulein DOktor...just little another Arrange.

And why Cover Untitled tracks?

About James Bond,in Russia on 2004 or 2005 released too CD for JB Songs-nice CD,where were Songs from Titles...[But Madonna's Song from "Die Another Day"-don't included..]
http://filmmusic.ru/2007/10/06/soundtrack-the-best-of-bond-james-bond-007/

And Quinlan, thanks for Joy Film-I will download it NOW:))!!

Thanks!!

@ Isbum - it seems '77 was a big year for "Man With A Harmonica" disco versions.

@ Tripmastermonk - That track was one of my favourites from the comp. (props too to Nomwl1 - why didn't I think of that one?). I dig your remix; very catchy and, unlike a lot of remixes, it really swings.

Isbum said...

@ 3410 - I picked the Barry track for nomwl1. a. He's a huge fan who turned me onto "Follow Me" and "The Tamarind Seed". b. He bloody well knows what a vacation is! Somehow, I think the track fit's his flights of fancy.

Rocket from Mars got the final track due to his love of all things Mel Brooksian. That's the 2nd one I've picked for him. Feel the love rocket? Like a good parent, sometimes I help the kids with their homework. ;)

italianjob - The switcheroo I pulled with your choice was a tad more out of bemusement that you chose a pop tune from a Frenchman while leaving the Italian composer Stelvio Cipriani's score behind.
Expatriot? ;)

And here we go again folks, it has a problem track. Is it just my ears, or does track #13 (yep, it's called Take Off), have a little difficulty getting enough speed up down the runway? I've had a chat with the bloke I got it off, no help there, so both him and I would be keen on what you tech wizards come up with. The good news is we are only talking a few seconds.

Maurice Jarre "Enola Gay" (1980), LP @192:
http://rapidshare.com/files/75075233/MJ-EnolaGay.zip

@ ze carlos - Awwwww, you're more than welcome for Sugar Colt. Quite the tearful bunch we are at Franklynot, maybe we should have a Tearful Project next month;)

boynotorious replies....

It's unrelated. My NOC (which stands for Nauseatingly Oversized List) is a listing of every Soundtrack & Score currently available in the Vault at Daydream Central. Right now I am still sifting around the darkest corners of said area, unearthing crap I had no idea I had, much less ever traded for or purchased, in what was supposed to be an estimated few day long project, and has currently turned into a life sucking, seemingly never ending, massive type drain on my persons. My sanity only saved by the large quantities of booze and happy memories related to some of this crap.

Needless to say it has been a long week. A very long week. I can even dream of sending invites out at this point. It seems so far away. :(

@ Comback Shane

It turns out that was the release I had in my head all along. I recall having a LP i'm likely confusing with the LD. From there is gets really confusing. Urgh.

While on the subject, I have the 33 1/3 Complete Promo if anyone wants it. It doesn't pop up all that often so I figured I toss it out there.

@ Joebiwan24

I think John Williams has become a total hack. Yep, I said it. Everything he does sounds almost exactly the same, he doesn't mix it up at all and his sound is far beyond dated and boring. So much so that I pray nightly and miracle will happen and Stevie will offer the INDY 4 Score to someone with some balls. Oh well.

I to am a huge fan of both 1941 and JW's score. I have these:

1941 (John Williams) - Score
1941 (John Williams) - Expanded Score
1941 (John Williams) - Complete Score (Signature Collection)
1941 (John Williams) - Recording Sessions.

It will make a great entry in The Daydream as well. Request away.

@ Isbum

Nice share with the KISSED. It's one of those creepy Indie Flicks that I get sucked into every time it's on the Sundance Channel. Just obscure enough that you'd never assume a soundtrack exists. Thanks for that.

Am contemplating to post this Quincy Jones (old recordings of 1959-1965 but remastered in 2006). Tell me if it should be a "not done" matter, or else a private one.
I dare not exhibit it on my blog, so I won't do it there.

At this moment the "Joyful Film Music" is streaming in. Thank you, and THE BOSS -- and, certainly, Carrasco.

Shock Treatment (one of the most terrifying movies i've ever seen)
Sorry, "abyssal" sound.

http://rapidshare.com/files/75385341/Shock_Treatment_-_bootleg.rar

Can somebody (filmpac?) explain what is a bootleg, a recording session, etc.

@Mr Remember and others that make requests but don't post

For me, it's not a problem, when i share, it's often soundtracks that i found on the blogland, newsgroups, p2p, and also my own collection. I try to thank the source.

I received so much from people that i never give nothing in return, so for me, it's natural to help everybody, without any difference, so if you have a request than i can fill, i will do it. I don't wait for nothing in return.

One rule i respect over all : i don't share something when it was expressly told to me not to share.

I hope everybody understands what i mean.

@Quinlan, Carrasco, Isbum & all contributors : thanks for the joyfull project. Great!

@ 3410 - Thanks to a mate, here's your request from last month. Enjoy...

Piero Piccioni "Un Italiano In America" (1967), @320:
http://rapidshare.com/files/75279998/PP-ItalianoInAmerica.zip

@ Segroeg - Recording sessions are just that, a copy of the actual sessions made at the time of the recording. A bootleg is an unofficial release of some sort, the source and quality can vary, could originate from a recording session or master tapes or even an isolated DVD score. These isolated DVD scores are also where you will typically see the word "complete". A promo is usually just the background music, and is typically put out by the composer himself for promotional purposes, often when there is no full release by the studio or just a couple of tracks on a soundtrack. Hope that helps some.

@ Segroeg again - I wish to clarify something here. I am not a trader. I share to all, and expect nothing in return, though it is of course nice when someone fills one of my requests. My only point in all this is that I am FAR more likely to fill a request for someone who contributes to the group, than someone who does not. The reason for this is I know and appreciate the time and effort that goes into ripping something, zipping it, uploading it, posting it. That effort is to be applauded, and hence rewarded where possible. Okay?

@ Mr. Remember - Sorry if it appeared you were being singled out, not my intent.

@ all - Is it just me, or has the font in here suddenly got smaller?

Comeback Shane said...

This might seem elementary to you guys, but I thought i'd share a method of searching for scores that i've had a lot of success with. If you're looking for say "Fistful Of Dollars" by Ennio Morricone, have the title in quotations, the composer in quotations and add the word "blogspot". Since Shareminer only shows sites with RapidShare displayed this can bring up sites where links are hidden. If that doesn't narrow it down enough, i'll try to find the title of a certain track on the album and add that in quotations. I've had a lot of luck doing this, so I thought i'd share it with you.

And I do have a couple of requests..

First of all @boynotorious
Yeah Naked Gun 33 and a third would be great if ya don't mind!

Also,

Elsio Mancuso's (as Vasco Mancuso)
score to "5 per l'inferno" AKA "Five For Hell"

Riz Ortolani's score to "Contro 4 bandiere" AKA "From Hell To Victory"

Thanks for checking guys!

@ breton girl - Word on the street is that the Tremors "complete" score combines tracks from the Tremors promo score you probably already have, plus edited excerpts from a suite by Robert Folk (those marked with a * on the back cover), plus song tracks sourced elsewhere. So, I'll definitely second your request, this is now a hot ticket item on p2pland as well.

Hi pal, if you haven’t seen or don’t have this one already you’ve just got to go grab it: Gerry Mulligan with the Bill Charlap Trio – Lonesome Boulevard. His version of the theme from Splendor In The Grass is exquisite.

You’ll find it at http://herejazz.blogspot.com/

Steve said...

@ mel

Lonesome Boulevard is certainly sublime, thanks for the heads up. And as for Splendour in the Grass, it's the first time I've heard this David Amram composition, who just continues to impress.

mel said...

@ steve

I fell in love with Amram’s music for Splendor In The Grass at first hearing. Unfortunately no soundtrack album was ever issued. Around 30 years ago I recorded the main title music onto tape from a VHS copy of the movie. Here it is, and I’m sorry the audio quality is not great:

Thanks to our own isbum I acquired Percy Faith’s recording of the theme, beautifully arranged and played:

Hello my dear friend
Thanks very much for the tip of Gerry Mulligan.
It's always very nice to hear from you.
Unfortunately I feel very frustrated because for some obscure reasons I have enormous difficulties to download from webhoster other than rapidshare or megaupload. The Gerry Mulligan is on ZShare and required more than 18 (eighteen) hours to complete the download the first time I tried. I have the same problem with MediaFire which is commonly used by our friend Green Eyed Lady.
With RS it takes me a couple of minutes, so my connection works...
I don't know where the problem comes from.
If someone here could give me a clue to try to fix it, it would be very much appreciated.
Thank you and thanks again mel for your kind consideration.
You should be hearing from me on sallie's blog in the not too distant future.

My friend, I guess that my message of December 8, 2007 7:10 PM remains invisible on your screen ;-)
Would you please check the question and answer me?

@ Boynotorious
YOU, don't have to respond to my question posed on December 6, 2007 4:09 AM -- but, at least, have you read it? It ended with "I wonder..."

@ filmpac - About "The Snowman": I've listened to my own CD, which hardly sounds better than your uploaded rip @ 256kb/s. In fact, the narrator's ‘ess-es’ that start at 0:40 - "... Snow begun to fall," seem even more prominent! That discouraged me from going to the silly trouble of making another, "personal" rip.
Tomorrow though I'll scan and upload the booklet; it's a thin one but why not add it (for the atmosphere & the lyrics).

& GoblinScore
& tripmastermonk
1) Read the above mssg to filmpac
2) Avoid the temptation watching The Snowman (song-clip or the 27-minute complete video). Extremely poor quality, deadly for crayon animation, and it'll spoil all the magic!

di(aphanous said...

Incomplete phrase in my previous comment, point marked as 2); it should read: "Avoid the temptation watching on YouTube ‘The Snowman’ available there...

@ breton girl - Sorry to disappoint my dear, but one Willow turns out to be the large suites on the official release, edited out to 31 tracks. Not a note more of music contained. The other Willow I found is a straight movie rip, with so much dialogue it's like listening to the movie. Still interested in that one?

That time being late 70's early 80's...the soundtrack being the original assault on precinct 13. It also just reaffirms my love of a Carpenter score. its not always good, sometimes its great, but it usually always works in the context of the film. heh.

I was only after TRUTHFUL by THE BLOOD BROTHERS but had no clue what band it was or if it was even on the Soundtrack.

As "Valued Alumni" I got stuck in the UCLA Theater, Film & TV Departments version of Big Brothers + Big Sisters this year. Basically I am advising one of this years Students while he makes a Short Film that will enter into all said JR Film Geek Contests and hopefully humiliate and embarrass one of the USC losers and their crappy what-to-be film department.

I helped him write this amusing little yarn about a Kid who gets busted while holding his drug dealer friends Vitamin Ex and takes 500 hours of Community Service in a Morgue instead of anything that might require actual manual labor.

First night goes quiet. Easy time.

Second Night, he accidentally doses himself with enough Ex to hallucinate the entire morgue coming alive.

That tune will be playing when he does his rounds on the first night.

I and Jr. Landis thank you for the assist. I also didn't have the Soundtrack so it works out great. Thanks again.

Three tracks written by Jerry Fielding. Two are from Manos Hadjidakis, a composer we've been talking about recently.

Jerry applied a few things he learned from this experience to one of his final scores, "The Gauntlet".

@ ruggo - I hate to break this to you, but your avatar is kaput. You might want to check your own link there, appears to be a rapidshare one. But it's dead. We just get a big white empty.

@ all - What? Only 4 downloads of Meco "Christmas In The Stars"? Does everybody have this already, or do you all just have remarkably good taste?

Isbum said...

@ filmpac - Poor ruggo, his chickens flew the coop. That, or people got tired of leftover turkey.

@Ruggo

It's all in homage to the great one. He is my Hero/Idol/God. I've actually met him a few times and hallucinated a few great conversations with him whacked out on painkillers back in the day. :) Nothing to write home about. Always wanted to work with him. With any luck it will still happen someday.

@ Filmpac

Did you ever see the Ole Bornedal U.S. Version of Nightwatch? With Ewan McGregor & Nick Nolte.

It's exactly like that played for Comedy if they hadn't ripped out the entire subplot of Josh Brolin & Ewan's characters constantly trying to one up each other with practical jokes. The 2 1/2 Workprint is a frigging' masterpiece of never-to-be-seen greatness. That is what he and I were paying homage to. Another Foreign Director that got raped by American Producers.

I'll eventually digitize it and up it to my blog.

While were on the subject of Nightwatch !!!! Anyone have Joachim Holbek Score? I doubt it exists in any form and would never of thought to ask. Figure I would toss it out there just in case.

@ di(aphanous

I am not going to lie to you. I am bad with relationships. I have no idea what gave it away. Maybe I missed the mass e-mail or something?

Thanks for the fascinating Fielding rip. Its amazing to hear Fielding in his just pre-Wild Bunch period obviously having an absolute ball. You're bang on with your Gauntlet influences too. Eastwood sure knew how to get the best out of his jazzmen (Dee Barton, Niehous). Incidentally does anyone have that opening credit music by Barton to Play Misty For Me? I've always loved it, and wondered why its never been properly released.

I can't believe I missed out on The Unforgiven set at FSM. It's not like I waited long. I ordered in October and then forgot about it... but then my order was cancelled. I really, really wanted to buy this one. Fastest FSM sellout ever. 1500 copies is too few.

Can anyone share the music and/or booklet scans from this one?

Thanks.

About three years ago, I heard a vocal version of The Girl With the Sun in her Hair by John Barry. I think it was on Michale Parkinson's Radio 2 Sunday morning show. Does anyone have this rarity?
While I'm on the subject of Barry vocals, The More Things Change sounds like an instrumental version of a song (hum it to yourself and you'll see what I mean). Anyone have any clues?

I just read your request concerning the second volume of our monthly common project, i.e. "Music That Travels".
I was going to give you the links when I realized isbum had done it already.
Although he did not specifically mentionned that it was to your attention, I guess you understood that his comment registered on Dec. 11 @ 12:03 am was for you.
Cheers

Isbum said...

@ quinlan - I guess filmpac also made it a point after I posted the links that I wasn't very clear.
Sorry.

So Quinlan, how goes the download numbers on the Joyful project?

BOYNOTORIOUS said...

@ Breton Girl

I've got some Good News & Bad News for you.

First the Bad: The Expanded Tremors in question is only 11 Tracks long.

The Good News: It appears that who ever put this together was annoyed by the over abundance of mini cues and decided to make SUITES of them all to save space. The final RUNNING TIME is EXACT to that on the BACK COVER of the COMPLETE SCORE link you supplied. So it is, I repeat IS, the Complete Score your looking for.

You may do the happy dance if necessary. Sadly, while I noticed it in his archives, all your French Love & Affection should go to a dude named: boogiepop

I'll get it from him in a few days and then likely post it to my blog. You might want to send me an e-mail for an INVITE. Just a thought. :)

Yes I noticed filmpac remarks after I posted mine.
You know I have a tendancy to come after the battle is over....
Concerning the number of downloads for the "Joyful Music" project, let's say that it goes very smoothly so far...
31 downloads corresponding exactly to the number of contributors to this project.
I don't know how it can compare to the previous month projects but if I consider the number of downloads of the monthly link list (200 to 300) it's a very small number.
You people who have not downloaded this project yet, leaving us among the happy fews, you don't know what you're missing!!

@ THXJAY - or jay, I haven't had a think on it, but at the moment,

What about the Licorice Pizza comps on the table thingy? That different?

Either way, let me know as soon as, so I can add some text :)

As for your Licorice Pizza question, I have no idea what you are 'on about :)

If you mean the LP comps in my Crime Jazz collection, there are 4 volumes using his mixes, with my covers, all the rest are my own.

@ Boynotorious: i'm curious about your expanded Tremors... I hope the 3 songs are there too, it's partly why i'm searching the complete score.
I'll email you tomorrow for the invite, i just hope that you din't expect me to make some collaboration in the future... Betwen my lack of rare score on my own (and all was already posted somwhere now), the absence of an mp3 converter that i couldn't understand (don't bother to tell me a good one, i've already tried about 20 - it's still not work for me) and the painfully slow upload, it's almost impossible for me to do something... *blush*

RE: MY BLOG

That is better excuse and reason for not contributing than most. It also seems like you would if you actually could. However, I have bounced requests for the same reason. So this develops into a....bit of a.....Pickle?

MEMBERSHIP WILL BE CLOSED ONCE ALL THE INVITES GO OUT. From there everyone ALREADY IN will have the ability to NOMINATE anyone FROM THE OUTSIDE for Membership. I did this because useful individuals and just plain decent folks show up all the time. I am not even a month old in these parts for example. I didn't want to leave it completely stagnant. Where is the growth in that? So how about we have the First Official Vote for Membership as the bulk of my readers call this home and I trust the opinions here more than most. I'll leave it to all you:

Given the situation should I let BRETON GIRL in?

Ran into this rarity prowling through cyberspace. Had to convert to MP3 @320 for my friends, but thanks to the original uploader for the great two-CD set and fantastic notes. (All included along with cover art).

The only commercially available album released since 1982 of The Dark Crystal has been the original LP. Finally, in 2003, the Jim Henson camp authorized the release of the ultimate, 2-CD set of music from The Dark Crystal in a limited pressing. The 5,000 copies contain one CD with the remastering of the LP suite presentation and one with the entire 71 minutes of music as heard in the film.

Very highly recommended for any film music collector, and especially for those who appreciate the massive orchestral beauty of the fantasy genre.

@ ruggo - You got me intrigued on the Dark Crystal. Thanks for sharing, I'm quite excited!

@ breton girl - I'll have the Willow bootleg for you in my morning. But the other version is REALLY the same as the official release. Worse, it's 128 bitrate. Even more worse, it's missing 1 track. Personally, I don't see the point.

@ isbum & carrasco - Is this Dark Of The Sun a CD release, or the same LP we shared a while ago now?

G'night all... zzzzz:)

Isbum said...

@ filmpac - Sleep well dingo.
Tomorrow here's the story as I think it went. Boynotorious was kidding about not finding the person who requested it, because it was his request. Or did you know that all along?
The Dark of the Sun I posted is from an Lp. I had it on a burned Cd with The Heroes of Telemark, but now I have Les Plus Belles Musiques De Jacques Loussier and have to separate them. Oh, thats right filmpac, you found the fantastic Arnold score for Nine Hours to Rama, so with Telemark that makes a great pair-up. You follow me?

Don't follow me...I have no idea where I'm going!

Hep-Hep Steff said...

@ Filmpac: thanks a lot! And even @ 128 and missing a track, i'm still regarding for the alternate version of the score... :) It's like collecting Blondie bootlegs: unless you're a die-hard fan, no needs to have 20 or 30 live boots with the same songs... And since i'm a die-hard fan of willow (and Blondie too, but it's another point) i'd love to listen thi edit of the official ost... :)

isbum,

Well bad news, my brother doesn't actually have the "Fantastic Planet" CD, he's using the same 128 rip that I am. :(

There is however another option, albeit a low tech one. My boss has the region 2 DVD of the actual film, which has an isolated score. I could rip THAT to mp3 (at a nice high bitrate) and post it. I've done that with a few scores and the results have been quite positive overall. Plus it usually yields a little more music than the commercially available versions, etc.

Just a thought, feel free to veto.

In the meantime sorry to get your hopes up but I shall continue to search for an official CD version of the score. My brother is such an avid CD collector that I have no doubt that one of these days he'll buy his own copy of "Fantastic Planet."
