Just a reminder before we continue,
three things will get your post removed.

1. Complaining
2. Being Negative or Rude
3. Your Name is Greg

Welcome back! Here's hoping all of you find something nice under the tree that I'm sitting on top of.

What? You don't see the tree?
Like I said, look underneath. ;)

Would you post Cosma's "La Dérobade / Maldonne" ?

Thanks to all !

@ boynotorious

I agree with your comments on Rapidshare.

I would make a personal request to you, however, to keep vulgar language for your own blog and not use it here in future. It’s quite unnecessary, no-one else does or has ever done that, and bear in mind that we have ladies visiting occasionally, and I mean ladies.

THXjay said...

Isbum, if I may just take over your blog for a minute to say this.....

I now realise why the Filmpacs & Rockets of blogland don't have their own blogs and prefer to roam the vast open plains riding their digitally rendered Harley's (or maybe Aston Martins) bestowing rare and treasured links to one and all.
It's because trying to run a blog and visit here (and there, and everywhere) is virtually impossible, since starting my own site, I've fallen so far behind on my own downloading I don't think I can ever recover (all together now, aahhh).

The main point I'm tryiong to make is that I hope you all understand that even though I don't seem to contribute much here, I love this place and am always dropping by to see what everyone has to say.
I just feel a little guilty that no-one ever seems to request anything that I can help out with (not very often anyway).

So, just to say a BIG THANKS to all of you you and especially Filmpac, Rocket, Quinlan and all the other regular link detectives that frequent here, it wouldn't be the same without you all.

And I just would like to say how great it is to see nomwl1 back in action, I'm sure I'm not alone in admitting that it was his music blog that inspired many of us to start our own....
Even YDHTVTB 2 (I mean Franklynot :)

Ladies & Gentleman, I bid you goodnight (or day wherever you are)

Hi all

Anyone have Georges Garvarentz's deliriously overblown score to "Triple Cross"? TIA!

@filmpac - Another fine Garvarentz score is always a welcome sight, thank you friend :)

BTW - I've been on this Ernest Gold obsession lately, and I'm missing one score(that I'm aware of)- "Good Luck, Miss Wyckoff".

Does anyone have this, they would like to share? --Pretty please :)

Yikes. Sorry about that. Being offensive was never the intent of any post. Was going for the best possible PASS all the while trying to do justice to the overall feel of the material in question. Sometimes this is not easy. As a currently ON-STRIKE Writer my current lack of creativity might have gotten the best of me. Either way it wasn't meant to add Cheyenne Pepper & Rotten Eggs to the mix. I deleted the post and will re-up said share with a user friendly pass. :)

RE: RAPIDSHARE

Earlier this week, I had some imbecile making a major stink about how my blog (as well as another popular RAPIDSHARE ONLY blog) were near useless because of our uploading methods. I had to delete the comments it got so unpleasant and have been on the defensive since. Sorry if i misinterpreted your comments as something they weren't. It's been a long week in my parts. Take no personal offensive either way.

Now that the previous post has been deleted fans of MY BLOG know that it's going underground tomorrow. Send me an e-mail if you'd like to remain in. However, if your eyes and ears can't take offensive materials or are extremely sensitive, you might want to pass. (I'm not talking PORN or anything you'd expect to witness spending the evening with Britney Spears. Just a bit more 18+ than normal.) Anonymous Users need not apply. If your not a known member of here, SLPMOC, LLS or YDHTVTB then save yourself and my e-mail the time. Unless of course you can make a compelling argument for yourself. I have already had a request from someone that described himself as: SELF PROFESSED LEACHING SCUM. That just bought a tear to my eye. The honesty that no doubt took to type. I was almost weepy when I sent him back an e-mail denying him access. :)

Yes, i'm going to let the above LEECH in. It's all about content and I want the type of people that respect each other and the community on whole enough to be a part of it an not lurk. If you can't hit the comment button don't bother. Hence the reason i'm requesting ACTIVE MEMBERS only. Aside from that there are no rules. I'm opening it up to ALL for 2 WEEKS. December 14th 2007 at 12 am, Membership Closes. It's not about numbers it's about the content.

My e-mail awaits and i'll get those deleted links back up again as soon as possible. - VQ

@ steve - Interesting that you called "Triple Cross" "deliriously overblown". I found it a turgid dud.

Every composer has one of these, Ennio, Lalo, Williams, even Piccione...and I didn't think it was possible from the terminally upbeat composer.

@ segroeg - Thanks for the nod.

Steve said...

@ isbum

Well, to be honest I was referring (by memory) to the main theme which is pretty ripe! I notice the score is conducted by Roland Shaw - did he conduct any other original scores or was he the amazing arranger we all know and love for most of his career?

@ isbum - Analogy? What analogy? There's a flamin' great tree in the corner, it's got tinsel, and fairy lights, and an Isbum perched on top. And boxes underneath. Look, there's a snowman there, just waiting to be loved!

Filmpac trips off singing "They're Coming To Take Me Away Ha Ha!" before the nice men in the white coats, and butterfly nets come along:))

Request:
Looking for Graeme Revell promo score to "Goal!", and I'm sure I saw it somewhere, but now I can't find it. Perhaps I dreamt it. Anyone?

filmpac said...

Oh, I just remembered something else. Have we got a project this month? Something non-Christmassy, or at least Christmassy with a Franklynot twist? Not sure I can handle a CD of hark the herald angels singing, know what I mean?

Isbum said...

@ filmpac - Twas' a thin line between flamin'tinselfairy and isbum you walked there mate.
It seems your tree has extra balls on it. ;)

Isbum said...

Yes indeedy filmpac, a project is in the works. Q branch is working on it.

filmpac said...

Oh man, I hadn't even meant it THAT way. Is just what we call 'em down under, fairy lights! I was going more for the Isbum being an angel thing... My bad (-:

So what's the project then?

jeffy said...

@timmyjmctim

Glad I could help! Your comment made my day :)

@Isbum

Hope I didn't offend with the "pepper" comment in regards to boynotorious; I certainly did not mean it in the "vinegar" sense (in keeping with the kitchen condiments analogy...), I meant simply that all of the posters here bring to this recipe their own special ingredients, and that's what makes the Frankly Not stew so unique. (True, if Paula Deen offered up some concoction called a Frankly Not Stew on the Food Network she would have been canceled long ago & the network forced to run cartoons in her stead. But WE have our own taste here) :)

Isbum said...

Just yankin' your tinsel mate!

Re: The project. We won't be around in 3007. It's the "Year of Bond".
I think we should honor the old man.
Q branch has failed to make it operational. M is calling all
double 0 agents in on this one.

I recommend a solid 80 minuets of Bond instrumental score tracks.
However, if you other Agents have suggestions, I remain open to them.

filmpac said...

@ isbum - I concur if this be different takes on Bond. A Franklynot covers project, yes?

Isbum said...

@ jeffy - Not at all. I borrowed the "pepper" as a way of saying something that might otherwise read like I was angry. I enjoyed the flavor, but feared lesser talented jokers would wish to join the circus.
The day this blog reads like "Ain't It Cool News" is when I head-butt the monitor and die of electrocution.

With that said, I send the subject off to bed.

BOYNOTORIOUS said...

My BOND Cover would kick your BOND Covers BUTT. That being said, I would enjoy the hell out of the new project. There are few things in the world that give me more enjoyment than a Bond Flick.

Might I nominate Eric Serra's THE GOLDENEYE OVERTURE for having the balls to try and shake it up and dare convention. It's a much maligned & underrated creation that doesn't get nearly the respect it should. All reboots should be just that. Sadly some things you just can't mess with. But I salute him for tying. Here is to you, E. :)

di(aphanous said...

@ filmpac - you've beat me to Howard Blake's "The Snowman"... by weeks. I don't have many soundtrack disks, and had loved that short animation & song.

Just know that when you happen to see it on my blog, it'll be my own rip.

I love me some Bond music. I call my current compilation Bondage. And I'd recommend the Pfeiffer Bros version of the 007 theme from the Casino Royale trailers as a kick-ass entry in this new project that Isbum has yet to even actually define...

Anonymous said...

@ boynotorious

Bless Eric Serra's heart. His bold attempt to restart the franchise musically nearly sunk the whole film. That being said, I do find the Goldeneye soundtrack to be a really good listen as a thing unto itself. But, man, it really blows in the context of the film. Not quite as horrifying as Michel Legrand's abomination that is Never Say Never Again, but in the same ballpark...

BOYNOTORIOUS said...

@ timmyjmctim

OUCH. JUST STUFF THAT KNIFE IN THERE WHY DON'T YOU. Poor bastard. I will never get anyone to agree with me on this. Then again, I think Lyle Workman's SUPERBAD score is the best of this year. So what the heck do I know about anything.

RE: THE STRIKE

It's a disaster on so many different levels I wouldn't even know where to begin. Thankfully the TV Series I write for got picked up already for the full 22 episodes and is a favorite of the network execs. My job is secure for now. Other than that it is exactly like negotiating with a retarded person. These idiots keep giving us a bunch of different revisions that are basically the same package and acting like they are doing us a favor, all the while giving us none of the very simple and by no means greedy concessions we have asked for. It's never ending and pointless. We run their world and they seem to think were expendable. Let's see how that looks six months from now when they have to announce a 100% Reality TV Lineup on every Network at Upfront. And as it stands right now, that is exactly what your going to get in the very near future. :(

A Bond project! now that is a cover I would have liked to get my gnashers into, but I guess you want a different designer for each one :(

As for the content, maybe just gathering tracks will end up like the zillions of other Bond comps out there. Maybe we need some rarer artists (instrumental) to make it unique.
Having said that, where do you start? as long as mr Roland Shaw gets a mention I'll be happy.

http://rapidshare.com/files/73810513/Godzilla_Vs._The_Smog_Monster.rar

This is definitely one of the more funky scores of Godzilla.

Thanks to the original uploaders on all of these. I know I got the Godzilla from XYZ Cosmonaut and now his site is completely defunct. Anybody know if he moved? He had so many giant monster movie scores I never got around to!

@ THXjay - It would be my honor to have you create a cover for this project.

I believe otherwise, it would fall under the category of "cruel and unusual punishment". ;)

@ rocket from mars - If you would like to organize the tracks for the final Cd, let me know. You're my number one choice and inspiration for doing this compilation.

The voting seems to be more for a various artists mash up.
Final vote then,

1. All tracks non original soundtracks.

2. All tracks from the original scores.

3. Entirely open to all Bond related music.

Do we include songs in the Project?

VOTE: Yes or No

thanks my friends

I vote for the 3rd choice, with songs includes in the project.
And then i'll be able to post something nice: a live version of Goldfinger by Blondie! :p

Re Bond

My vote would go for an all- original all-score, non-vocal comp. I'm sure between us we can come up with a truly definitive "Best of Bond" - definately no penny whistles!

quinlan said...

Re Bond Project
My vote goes preferably to N° 2 "All tracks from the original scores", only instrumentals!
But to close this exceptional year - during which we had the chance and the extreme pleasure to be together here in this wonderful blog - in an exceptional manner, why don't we go for a double Bond project?
One with original instrumental scores and a second one with only non original Bond related music including vocals.
After all it's often that we can find double CDs albums at our trusted record dealer.
If required I can take care of one of them when completed.

@ The original Daydream is about to be put to pasture. It's a sad day for an almost great blog. I simply could no longer handle the added pressure of running for AVN PRESIDENT and blogging at the same time. Let this be a lesson to all who are attempting to multi-task a great deal of things only to find your time is the only thing really lost. It was a great dream that was simply fit to die young. Such ambition never ends well.

For the Bond Project, probably no.2 but with vocals allowed, cant discount fab vocal performances now can you, but if you go for a double disc edition, a second disc of related lunacy would be a nice chaser for the main course...i mean how else am I supposed to get an OK Connery song on a comp...hehe =)

bistis6 said...

Georges,

Regarding TBFB, here's a post I made at YDHTVTB earlier in the year:

Regarding BOYS FROM BRAZIL, yes the longer version is a straight LD Isolated Score rip. There are several differences compared to the CD suggesting that there was a lot of post-production tinkering. Some cues on the LD are shorter than the official CD and vice versa owing to the "suite" presentation of the CD, some appear on the CD that weren't used in the film or are alternates of film counterparts. And of course there are some terrific cues that are officially unreleased.

Now hear this!...

Several years ago I cobbled together my own edition using both of these sources. I'm never content to merely plop down duplicate tracks from two sources that differ by two beats, etc. and call one of them an alternate (unless it IS a true "alternate"). Makes for a fairly repetitive listening experience IMO. Instead, I prefer to edit the WAV files into the cues as they were written. TBFB posed a bit of a problem in that the LD is in mono, so certain cues will switch from stereo to mono, as smoothly as I could edit them. The occasional FX bleed crops up from time to time as well, but it's not terribly distracting. My version has 17 tracks and runs around 50 minutes, and including the song "We're Home Again" sung by Elaine Paige.

I'm always hoping that this will be part of the Varese Club Series or Intrada's Special Collection. We'll see what happens tonight when Varese announces their latest batch. Intrada should have a new one in the next couple of weeks. But, if Varese has not included TBFB I'll up my version. It literally took me hours and hours to compile but I don't think you'll be disappointed.

End...

The link is still active, and was highjacked by La Leyenda and God knows who else. Anyway, ENJOY!!!!

@ isbum - Not sure, but I assume you've meant me about reprocessing sound (at ML's blog and here once, I think), when you wrote "...who among us did the seamless fix on some problem track we had before".

@ isbum, 3410 and filmpac [December 4, 2007 12:13 AM] - De Masi's "Thunder III": Not having downloaded the soundtrack, I didn't quite early pick up the problem. Have missed the beginning of the thread. Anyway, here's my smoothly-rejoined attempt at track #7, The Store Destruction.
3410's fix was fine, only the join happened at ½ a bar (measure/beat) too late -- or too soon. You can ask for my input at any time by mail, if it concerns an individual track.

My guess is that in this particular case, even de Masi would sign it as his orchestration. Just mark and listen twice to the renewed track, say from 0:40 to 1:15, while tapping your foot to the rhythm. Forgive me, and... have fun!

@ filmpac - Only the end result counts.

@ 3410 - I'm most anxious to read your honest — even harsh — comments. How does it compare?

@di(aphanous-
I remember seeing that video (The Snowman) for rental for the longest time, but never got around to trying it. I guess being raised on dull Frosty by Rankin/Bass tainted my opinion (?). Nothing wrong with a weakness for that amazing boy soprano vocal though!!

@ di(aphanous,

I still don't really know where the break *should* go. It's rather a confusing metre, even without the big missing section.

Between the 3 of us, I think we've done as much as we can for now.

On the subject of repaired tracks, here's an approximation of the missing track 2 of Micalizzi's "Nati con la camicia" (posted version was a duplicate of track 3), edited from other versions of "Spies and Guys", including a section from the "Bud Spencer & Terrence Hill Greatest Hits, volume 4" version (all album versions were edited from the same basic track anyway). So, for whomever's interested:

Just noticed your request for repair of Francesco De Masi's damaged "The Store Destruction" (in your case was it "The SCORE Destruction"?).
Here it is fixed:

You should not detect the point of repair.
isbum, my friend, I listened carefully to your repaired version but, with no offense, I'm afraid you removed 7 seconds too many.

Once again, I'm afraid I goofed.
As I was a little behind schedule I did not pick up your request for the De Masi's repair early enough and did not realize that 3410 had proposed his fixed version and you had already posted a link for the complete "Thunder III" score.
Sorry about that, for coming too late and over and above what has been done so nicely already.
My sincere apologies to both of you.

For the Bond project, I have selected the original gunbarrel entrance (thought it would make a good opener), which alas does not appear on the official Dr No soundtrack album. It does appear on the Unheard Melodies series (direct movie rips), but runs into Three Blind Mice. So, could someone please download this track here? What I am looking for is just the first 1:17 or so. A fade-out would be nice too. Oh, and any remastering, bass boost, whatever. Hehe. Thanks for anyone who can help!

Very jazzy scores performed by some very good french jazzmen.

@ All

If you approved, and there have only been two rejects thus far (Both of which have already been informed in case your worried), you should be getting my lawyers "moron proof" release in the next day or so. The reason for this will have a few of you scratching your heads till you actually get onto the new blog. It was sadly necessary given the direction I have decided to go. I can't have "the man" sniffing around The Daydream. It could get ugly fast and turn into the Enigma's Nightmare. They are paid to worry about this kind of crap for me. Hence the obvious questions to be asked before I can send you all a INVITE. (And if you've ever signed up for any TORRENT or BOOTLEG site, this should not be a shock.)

I had to go somewhat LOW TECH with the Template. I am not very HTML Savy it seems. It gets the job done just doesn't have the snap I wanted it to. The Content will have to make up for it.

Again: boynotorious@comcast.net if you want in. After it opens I might we just close it to the public to be on the safe side. Be Well All - VQ

@ filmpac, I hope you have something here. Dr No (No No!): I did all else but touch the frequencies - the sound's much too muted, and no manipulation of mine was satisfactory at the end. As such though, this end result is usable. Still, if anyone else would like to have a further go at it, I offer them my blessing and encouragement.

I did not know if the first four seconds (intro) were part of it, so both files are included — in WAV format — and can be joined together again.

@ filmpac
This time I hope I am not coming after the battle.
Here is an attempt of Monty Norman "James Bond Theme" remix.
You'll see that there are three files in the folder.
James Bond Theme 1 & 2 are from your post.
I eliminated on both of them the little opening jingle.
The N° 1 is a little longer than the second one because I tried to keep as much as possible of the main theme, so you can vaguely hear the start of the "Three Blind Mice" bongo part in the fade-out.
In the N° 2, I started the fading out 3 seconds earlier so the bongo part is eliminated but there is a little less of the main theme.
The third file is called "Quinlan rip.
A while ago on YDHTVTB, I posted the first 14 JB albums from my own LPs rips.
The Dr. No album has this James Bond theme which I have enclosed.
I don't see a great deal of difference with the Unheard Melodies rip except that it looks more complete.
Have a listen and tell me what you think. You'll be credited for that anyway.
Again what I did is an attempt. If you want the bass boosted more (or less), please do not hesitate to tell me.
Your idea of having this track as the opening one is obvious and excellent.

@ quinlan - You happened to be late too, but not for me! I decided to become a collector of every reconstructed sound file on this blog. BTW, mine is the extended version; runs for about 1:44+ (without the jingle) and has an intentionally longish fade-out.

@ All - About Hadjidakis "Aliki, My Love": Please, read below.

@ Filmpac - Your Greek friend Methexis (BTW, wonderfully erudite nick-name, meaning something 'among peers', thinking and feeling alike) he, then, may have more goods to offer.
But I do HATE [in block letters] when Greek music is offered to non-Greeks in compressed form, while the titles and tags make no sense -- they're even unpronounceable!
The limited number of characters in cellular mobile-phones sms/text messages are responsible too: A "c u l8er" it's allright for English-speaking folks, but what good is this to our friend eda-88 in Kazakhstan, who uses an automatic on-line translator in order to communicate with us? [Humorous 'boynotorious' was surely unaware of that fact.]

1) I have translated all tracks into English.
2) Moved the two soundtracks the other way around, in a much more satisfactory sequence, because this CD was launched for the internal Greek market [To Klotsoskoúfi was a huge box-office success, while Aliki had been a relative flop — despite having the added ", My Love" for its international release]:
"Aliki" - tracks 22-33 moved up as the first score, followed by a two-second silent track, and then comes "To Klotsoskoúfi" soundtrack (originally numbered as tracks 01-21). New total = 34.
3) The tracks' filenames are short but clear. Tags ID3 V2 are complete, incl. comprehensive transliteration of the Greek. At least, you'll have fun trying to read them aloud!
4) I have uploaded my ‘new tracktitle-list’ as .txt, and a special ‘Aliki + Klotsoskoufi.htm’ to guide you, should you decide to make the proposed the worth-while alterations (rar file of 2kB).

Oh,... some funny little coincidence:
A person very close to me had started his career in the film industry, exactly between those two films at their production company, submitting to the Big Boss a recommendation note written by that very same Aliki!!!

Sorry isbum, for the previous deletion. I wanted to shoot two birds with one stone, as nobody came in-between.

@ quinlan - Your own original rip of the James Bond theme has by far the best sound (dynamics); it's also perfect AS IS.

@ boynotorious - Thanks for the link to the ‘dailyscript.com’. Haven't visited such a site in years. Wasn't there (and perhaps still exists) another, similar one? Its web address rests peacefully in my dead old PC. For my nephew I had downloaded either "L.A. Confidential" or "The Usual Suspects" from there, in pdf form. But “DailyScript” has them as html only. I wonder...

filmpac said...

@ quinlan - I can see I have now painted myself into something of a corner on this Bond theme.

Firstly, I appreciate both your and di(aphanous' efforts on this. I also agree that Quinlan's own rip is the better sounding when talking purely about the JB Theme.

I often times take the road less travelled, and thought it fairly obvious someone would put up the Bond theme for inclusion. What I was striving for initially was the famous gunbarrel opening sequence. I now have that, a 0:24 second track taken from an expanded version of Goldfinger. What I will probably end up doing is posting *both* the gunbarrel opening and Quinlan's JB Theme as my selections (total combined time is only 2:08) and letting Isbum or the final mastering guy do with them what they will;)

The dilemma now becomes who to credit the gunbarrel opening to, Barry or Norman? It certainly uses part of the original Monty Norman Bond theme (and that in itself can become quite a discussion, has been in the courts twice).

Thanks again Q!

@ di(aphonous - Outstanding work on Aliki, much appreciated. Yes, Greek titles leave us mere mortals tongue tied!

di(aphanous said...

@ filmpac - James' tune: You had the solution all along. As for the credit, again it's in your own words "Barry or Norman"... question-markless!

Thanks for your response to "my" Aliki. That old way of writing "To Klwtsoskoufi" [by the same token they should type Alikh], had once been invented both for scholars & students of classical languages. Absolutely useless, stupid and arrogant when put to general use.

Thank you for your well appreciated comments relating to James Bond Theme.
In my opinion, there is no doubt, the James Bond Theme as played in Dr. No was composed and conducted by Monty Norman.
Because Dr. No was a hit they decided to make a sequel, "From Russia With Love" where John Barry was credited for the first time in the James Bond film story. For our listening great pleasure it was the first time of a long serie.
Every time he used the James Bond theme in his scores, he probably rearranged and reorchestrated it, but the composer remained Monty Norman.
We can also say that John Barry's arrangements were often very close to what Monty Norman did in the first film which is the one I posted.
Your idea of posting both versions sounds good to me.
Maybe the mastering guy could open the project with the short track by linking it smoothly to what he will decide to be the first track and then close the project with the Dr. No version...

@ filmpac
Coming back to whom to credit for the JB theme.
This is what wikipedia says about it:
Quote
The "James Bond Theme" is a jazz instrumental tune, the main signature theme of the James Bond films. The song is featured in every one of the "official" films since Dr. No in one form or another. The piece is used in conjunction with the James Bond gun barrel sequence as the film's initial introduction in every series entry except the 2006 version of Casino Royale and Dr. No, the latter using it as the main title track instead.
The "James Bond Theme" has been used as part of the actual opening credit sequence only twice, as part of the medley that opens Dr. No and then again in the opening credits of From Russia with Love. It has been used as the closing music for a number of films, most recently the 2006 version of Casino Royale.
Monty Norman has been credited with writing the "James Bond Theme", and has received royalties since 1962. For Dr. No, the song was orchestrated by John Barry who would later go on to compose the soundtrack for eleven future Bond films. Courts have ruled twice that the theme was written by Monty Norman despite claims and testimony by Barry that he had actually written the theme. Norman has consequently won two libel actions against publishers for claiming that Barry wrote the theme, most recently against The Sunday Times in 2001. It is generally acknowledged that Barry came up with the arrangement used in Dr. No.
Norman describes the distinctive rhythm in the first few bars of the "James Bond Theme" as "Dum di-di dum dum". He claims that it was inspired by the song "Good Sign Bad Sign" sung by Indian characters in A House for Mr Biswas, a musical he composed based on a novel by V.S. Naipaul set in the Indian community in Trinidad. In 2005, Norman released an album called Completing the Circle that features "Good Sign Bad Sign", the "James Bond Theme," and a similar sounding song titled "Dum Di-Di Dum Dum." For these songs Norman added lyrics that explains the origin and history of the "James Bond Theme".
The distinctive guitar riff heard in the original recording of the theme was played by Vic Flick, who would later play guitar on the original recording of Ron Grainer's theme music from the 1967 television series The Prisoner.
Unquote
If you don't want to have the same "misadventure" as the Sunday Times, let's credit Monty Norman for it.

I suggest you try to get into Soundtrack Lovers Paradise Members Only Club.

@ isbum

What kind of advise is that? Have you been there lately? Does anyone know what happened? It seems to have just died.

@ boynotorious - You're right.

@ mr. remember - Drop boynotorious an email, his blog will be opening this week.

Well, that seems to have settled that.

I thought it was fairly well established we do at least try to protect new releases here. By all means request them, but don't get in a huff if they don't turn up in a day or so.

I routinely fill requests months old, that I either didn't own, couldn't find, couldn't get a contact for, whatever.

The bottom line point should be bleedingly obvious, at least as far as I am concerned. I don't do new releases. Also, as I said to amadues (who not surprisingly disappeared off the radar), I am FAR more likely to fill a request for someone who contributes to the group. This does not mean that I will deliberately ignore non contributors, merely that I have a mental pecking order.

Mr. Remember - do with that what you will. But your perceived "angst" at the failure to fill your request will certainly get you nowhere, at least from me.

@ filmpac - Yer killin me! So funny!

Cheeky fellow. Oblivious to how that was going to be interpreted.

On the subject of new releases, I am listening to that Michelini "Chopper Squad" again. I know you didn't think much of it when you dropped the link for me, but I am so digging it.
Much appreciated!!

Also thanks for the link to Grumpy Boss. Wild blog, all over the place. Pat Boone followed by Kraftwerk. Raided the joint for some great musical memories.
