Haven't seen the film yet. Being called "Click Complete Bootleg Score" I assume the song you are searching for is featured.
Post the score on Wednesday.

Thanks for all the nice SNS's!
Especially for The Battle Of The Somme!!!

Nice to hear you'll share 2 more requests.
I know the 2 scores, they're simply fantastic. If you're able to share it in lossless quality, you'll definitely take the biscuit ;)
Of course 320 would be fine as well, I'll appreciate it either way!!!
Big thanks in advance! :)

Thanks

Anybody have TAKEN by Nathaniel Mechaly? It's the new film starring Liam Neeson.

@ Adware,

The Grabado en vivo file is not broken.

I'm guessing that you might be trying to extract to your desktop, which would make the "path" too long (ie longer than 256 charachters.)

If so, try extracting to "C" or "D" drive (after adding "r" to the end of the file name, of course.) This should work. Good luck. :)

You're very welcome. Send me a postcard! :) I've gotten a great response and way more downloads that I envisioned on that share. Before I showed up on the blog, I was sure I had nothing left to share that hadn't been posted, but obviously there's always something you've got that everyone else is looking for. I'm having fun deciding what to unearth next!

@ Wild.

Wow, what a lot of music. Seems like much of this is fresh to this blog. Like someone with a modest appetite at an all you can eat buffet, I'm being selective about what I choose - "take all you want but eat all you take!" LOL But how nice to have so many tasty items to choose from. Same goes with everyone lately, buckets of thanks to everybody.

I'm working on some more new, hopefully hard to find vinyl rips & scans to share later this week. Meanwhile 2 requests...never held out the tin can before! :)

Children of Dune (Brian Tyler)
Deep Rising (Jerry, of course)

Far from classics but need to scratch the guilty pleasure itch!

Just going thru the January comments I noticed that on January 8, you said that you had disposed of your record "Sinbad An The Eye Of The Tiger" by Roy Budd and did not rip it before. Well, I found in the link list that on April 20, 2008 thingmaker posted a link to this album as follows:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=UTRMXCPX
I tested it and it's still active. However I couldn't trace anything from you.
Hope this helps.
Cheers

@All:

Hello, everyone.

As my first "official" filmscorium post to kick off the new year, I have decided to start off with a soundtrack capable of caressing listening pleasures for those who are into ambient and/or new-wave sounds.

Here is Patrick O'Hearn's beautiful electronic/synthetic score - along with two vocal songs performed by two different artists - for the 1992 film, "White Sands:"

The password - as always - is:

ReSinbad again.
Sorry I did not see your question on how to easily find an item before 5 minutes ago, that's why I didn't answer before.
Very easy: in this particular case, since you may assume that there are not thousands of movies with the word "sinbad" in the title, select the column C "Album" by putting the cursor at the top of that column where there is the letter C. When the cursor becomes an arrow pointing downward, left click. The column indicates that it's been selected with a blue background. Then go to the menu "Edition", "Search" (Ctrl+F). Type "sinbad" in the relevant space and then click on "Next". That will bring you to the first line of the selected column where there is the word "sinbad". If it's not the good one, click again on "Next", and again and again, until you find what you are looking for. If after several clicks you come back to the first item found, it means that you have covered all lines bearing the word "sinbad".
Now if you're searching something among a great number of items, I mean for instance if "sinbad" was contained in many many film titles making the procedure I just described too long and boring, you can be more specific and type the entire film title or a group of words like "eye of the tiger". You'll find very quickly the requested item.
Good luck

Isbum said...

@ Quinlan - Thank you! This answers the questions some others were seeking as well.

@ Thingmaker - It appears I didn't thank you for "Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger".
Very sorry that I did. Please accept my apology for this error in courtesy.
Thanks for being a friend to this blog and me too.

quinlan said...

@ isbum
Well, this is what's happening when you arrive to fight after the battle is over. You probably noticed that everything I just told you about "Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger", the posted link and how to find it easily had been already properly covered by Ms Boricua in due time i.e. right after you raised the questions. Not like me two weeks later.
Never mind, sorry to look so stupid...

@ GilinAZ & GSW...
Le Voyage En Ballon...GSW thanks for sharing (the artwork is great too).
I downloaded it, then I knew I have heard it before. I searched through a box of CD's without covers...lo and behold, there it was. I have a copy (from unknown sources) of the Japanese issued CD. Unfortunately, no artwork. I played it and the stereo sound is wonderful...the best way to say it, "it's bright". Below is the link to this version @320. This version is one track shorter and a track is chopped (see Soundtrackcollector for a good explaination).

http://rapidshare.com/files/189503750/LeVoyageEnBallon_CD.rar

IMHO, this score is crying out for a re-issue.
ENJOY!

GSW said...

@Southview@212 - Thank you for going through the search. Never know what you are going to find. :) Downloading it now.

Isbum said...

gsw....I can't seem to get "Voyage en ballon" to download properly, with the link you gave me. Any chance of putting it up, somewhere else? I've tried to access it, several times...it gets halfway though, then quits. This is usually an indication that the server isn't responding anymore.

southview...yeah, seems funny why they would cut part of that track...I'm sure they had enough room to place a full copy there.
Unless, of course, that's all they had :-).

http://rapidshare.com/files/189897470/RalfHildenbeutel_1997_Hommage_Noir.COVERS_320.rar

@320

a friend gave me his rip and his scanned covers with the pernission to post it at frankly...
:-)

here some information about what it is:
Hommage a noir - Ralf Hildenbeutel
1. Hommage A Noir (Single Mix)
2. Intro/National Holiday
3. The Fantasia Riders
4. Market In Bamenda
5. The Elephantmen Society
6. In The Village
7. Largo For A Day In Africa
8. Warriors Of Foumban
9. Holy Life In Bafut
10. Hommage A Noir
11. Stiltdance
12. Hommage A Noir (Remixed By Bassface Sascha)
13. Hommage A Noir (Remixed By Der Process)

about the movie:

Ralf Schmerberg, an award winning German photographer, bursts onto the film scene with the kind of achievement that will speak to audiences without ever making a sound. Presented like a black-and-white photo gallery, the film journeys through the African continent exploring its people, its cultures and a way of life decidedly different from our own. Set to the foot stomping beats of African music and the mysterious tones of electronica, Hommage a' Noir makes for a hypnotic marriage of sight and sound.

But beyond its aural appeal, the score also expresses a profound juxtaposition of old and new that runs throughout the film. Africa may have been man's first home, but it has remained so into the modern era. Like the soundtrack therefore, with its ancient rhythms and modern synthesis, the images too reflect a society as steeped in venerable traditions as is it in new modes of modern living.

Wandering across Africa's gorgeous planes and vibrant people, Hommage à Noir sheds a beautiful, captivating light on the "Dark Continent."

and another review I found:

I haven't seen Hommage à Noir, a silent film about African peoples for which this is the soundtrack, so I can't assess how well the music supports the visual medium. However, on its own, the disc is exceptional. The title track mixes African chants with ambient techno music -- scarcely a new concept, though it's nicely done. An entire disc of that sort of thing, however, would get old very quickly. Luckily, the rest of Hommage à Noir is a lush array of atmospheric soundscapes, blending keyboards, piano and guitar with a variety of animal and human sounds, creating musical environments filled with emotion. Close your eyes and let your imagination take over as "The Fantasia Riders" builds to its thundering, percussive peak; you'll see what I mean, as the music transports you to another place and fills your heart and mind with urgent exhilaration. A lot of Hommage à Noir features the sort of ringing, bell-like keyboard tones common to New Age music, but even on new-agey tracks like "Stiltdance" nothing sounds cheesy or forced. African musical traditions are neither placed at center stage nor ignored, but worked gently into the music as stylistic references -- so much so that the disc's pair of bonus club remixes of the title track, though done respectfully, seem almost like an affront by comparison. Hommage à Noir is a wonderful, emotionally charged listen, whether you've seen the movie or not -- though after you've heard it, you may share my desire to see the images that go with the music.

it's a rare soundtrack.

best wishes

Happy Chinese New Year, everyone!

Just catching up on all the posts after a long weekend. I've got a couple of "thank yous" to issue out...

@ Ms Boricua: Thank you for Lost Season 3! I lost this link over at Vagos...

@ Jean: Thank you for Deep Rising! It's one of those titles on my "I Want To Request, But I Keep Forgetting" list. ;)

@ MaD: Thank you for the Wrestler! Just saw it this weekend, and I'd like to re-experience the music...

Since I missed SNS this week, I didn't get a chance to request the Gran Torino OST (another GREAT movie I just saw this weekend and now I just gotta have). Also, has anyone come up with the Big Trouble in Little China 2-disc spectacular yet?

@ isbum

If you don't mind waiting until midnight tonight to delete those titles I posted above, I'd really appreciate it. I'll get a chance to download them tonight. ;)

Isbum said...

@ budarc - Glad you asked that!
Many of the soundtracks shared as SATURDAY NIGHT SPECIALS (SNS's) turned out to be perfectly acceptable regular shares.

The SNS's are New Releases & Limited Editions that haven't gone Out Of Print yet.

Everything else is perfectly acceptable.

All In-Print scores with a 2008 release date should also be considered for SNS.

Composer promo's are welcome anytime.

If you are concerned about posting something, drop me an email. I'm around and more than happy to answer any questions.

@ scoredaddy - I just read your impassioned plea, and I sincerely hope it strikes a chord with your readers. But sadly, I doubt it will hit the mark with the vermin who perpetuate the practice. What's a feller to do? Me, I just shrug and move on. Its either that or you give up this blogging lark altogether, and none of us would like to see that happen.

@ ennioman - My Donnie Brasco is at the same bitrate of 192, so can't offer an upgrade. Great to see you back mate, don't be a stranger!

@ scoredaddy again - I just took a look on your blog, and I see that your offerings there include complete cover scans. The Artwork Department would be mighty appreciative if you could make the artwork available as a separate download. Many thanks if you can help.

@ wild - Thanks for making your shared composer promos a permanent addition to Franklynot, instead of just a SNS. These can be shared anytime folks, in fact it is the composer's desire that they are, to spread the worth of his work.

@ gremlins - Thanks for filling a request so quickly, and welcome to Franklynot!

A couple of request. I've been searching for quite some time for these, with no luck thus far. So I thought I might as well run them past you kind folks.

"The Island Of Dr. Moreau" (1996) Gary Chang

"Dollar For The Dead" (1998 TNT Spaghetti-esque Western starring Emilio Estevez) George S. Clinton

"Hard Eight" aka "Sydney" (1996 PT Anderson film) Jon Brion & Michael Penn

"The Hard Way" (1991) Arthur B. Rubinstein

"Stakeout" (1987) Arthur B. Rubinstein

"Briar Patch" aka "Plain Dirty" (2003) Nathan Barr

If any of generous people of this great community can be of any assistance, I'd sure appeciate it.

God bless.

Always wondered why the archive was so small in size ;-)

@Tlkjwe:
I only have Butterfly Effect in lossless quality. Sorry.
About Sharkwater: Just download the 23 track version, delete the last track and you have your 22 track version ;-)
Still wondering why you want a version that has less tracks.

@Ningue:
I have Hard Eight and Saw IV Complete Score. If I can manage they will be included in my SNS.

Hello,

Does someone here owns soundtracks/DVD audio rips from Ghoulies I and III, Critters III, Street Trash and Amityville 4 and 5, please ?

In fact, these are my rips and I lost all of them several months ago, so I'd like to find them again and that's why I hope someone here has downloaded them in my old blog.

Thanks in advance.

Regarding Jeff Rona - Sharkwater:
Easily said ;) But even if you delete track 23, the time length of the rest won't fit to the time length on the cover.
Have a look :D
It's the only reason why I asked everyone for the existing of a different version.

@ eda-88:
No, already have this version with 23 tracks @ 320.

Request:

Ruggo posted Jerry Goldsmith' "Police Story" on May 31, 2007. But the link

Could someone help me with this one?
Thanks in advance!

Please note, that "Code 46" rather differs from usual David Holmes' style in film music (Oseans, Analyze That etc.). It's kind of easy trip-hop I think?

Sorry for my pop-ups.

@ isbum - The toothless one was last seen running for governor of California. His platform was based on the molarity of youth today. His attempts to mouthwash voters went unfilled, when he bit off more than he could chew by introducing chloro-reform to recognize the equal bites of bi-cuspid couples. Sadly, the wisdom of The Toothinator went uncapped, and he was not indentured. His parting words were "Fangs For The Memory" :P

@isbum & all - Thank you for the clarity on SNS! I am new to your blog, and wouldn't want to ruin a good thing. This is a great place to share music, and the people on here really make it worthwhile...THANK YOU, ALL!

@Dimich - Thank you for "Code 46"! "Stander" follows in the same "easy trip-hop" footsteps, courtesy of The Free Association! Anyone who tracks down this score is just as smooth as the real Andre Stander was!

@boogiepop - In regards to "Hard Eight"...I would have said that finding this score would have been a "big balls" bet, and I would have lost. Press the hard eight for another two grand!! I also want to thank you for the "SAW IV" Recording Sessions...good stuff!

Seems like Angelo Badalamenti's score for "Auto Focus" (the Bob Crane biopic) is the odd man out! There was a beautiful, yet haunting piece of music that was played over Bob's murder in the end of the film. It's a shame it didn't make the domestic version of the soundtrack. I'm not even sure if a promo exists...
