Ok, I'm going to watch some movies. I'll probably be back with my 2 other shares for SNS (soon-ish).

G'night all!

luckymike said...

@ ms boricua

Here's Michael Collins. If you like Elliot Goldenthal, you'll really enjoy it. His usual sound, but unexpected lovely surprises like "Kitty's Waltz" rounds it out.

PS - LOVE your avatar!

Yes, it's at 320. :)

Ms Boricua said...

@Luckymike, Thx so much!

lol, my avatar is the best thing that ever happened (live) on a news show on tv. :P Do you watch The Soup?

luckymike said...

@ ms. boricua

You're very welcome!

Only seen bits of The Soup on things like YouTube...I have a feeling there's a funny clip I'm going to have to find!

Ms Boricua said...

YES! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i3rs4kqcpt4 :P

I love The Soup & Joel McHale!

@Isbum, awwww! So freakin' cute!

Ms Boricua said...

Isbum, you are gonna hate me for going so off-topic. :P

Ok, I seriously need to go and finish watching this movie. Which reminds me... (sorry to ask again) Does anyone have the soundtrack for Gomorra? HAHA. There, back on topic. :P

GSW said...

@Maimoine Digital - Thank you!
I keep finding tracks that don't work. The tracks are named and listed along with other tracks for a title but it contains no info and therefore will not play.
I don't know if there is something wrong with the download or something messing up in my system.

GSW said...

@Maimone Digital - After downloading the track, I see that it is @320. Would you share all 31 tracks? 320 is much better than what I have. Maybe it is best to replace the whole thing. Thank you.

Ms Boricua said...

Me again....

This is a lil far fetched, but does anyone have the score to the movie May by Jaye Barnes Luckett (2002)?

I mean the one from Lalaland, hxxp://www.lalalandrecords.com/May.html

Thx in advance!

P.S. Did anyone shared the score for Boogeyman by Joseph LoDuca (and I missed it)? For some reason I'm thinking Boogiepop either shared it or asked for it? I dunno, I might be going mad.

Ms Boricua said...

Btw, I have the promo score of Boogeyman if anyone is interested. =)

boogiepop said...

@MS Boricua:
Yeah, I uploaded it a while ago ;-)
I have the complete score for Boogeyman too if anyone is interested.

And I have the May score released by Lalaland. I will upload it as soon as possible.

Michael

Ms Boricua said...

Seriously you guys/girls have me spoiled! TY all!

@Boogiepop, do you mind uploading it again? I hope is not much trouble. I'm not sure if I missed it (or got it), but I can't find it in my HD. And I wanted to give it a listen.

OMG, you have the "May" one! Thx in advance!

I will be buying Henry Poole is Here (score) and The Home of Dark Butterflies when I get paid on the 1st, so you can scratch those of your list, unless somebody want to upload it before then.

Kinda OT again... have y'all heard Snow Patrol - You could be happy? Best song ever IMO. Just throwing that out there. :P

Ms Boricua said...

I want to add that I will be buying both from iTunes, so I dunno the bit rates. Unless I find the CDs cheaper. But I haven't seen the score for Henry Poole is Here anywhere other than iTunes.

@MS Boricua:
Here's the Boogeyman Promo. Complete Score and May on Tuesday when I get home.

I'll scratch both (Henry and Butterflies) off my "To get"-list then. Thanks in advance. You're awesome.
Yeah, the Henry Poole Is Here Score seems to be iTunes exclusive.

I would buy All I Want by Andrew Gross myself but it's not available at my country's iTunes store :-(

Maimone Digital said...

@GSW

I can give you the Battle/Humanoids upgrade later today!

I think awhile ago it used to be called "dirty weekend" but that was changed to SNS.

luckymike said...

@ filmpac

thanks for the Goldsmith upgrade

@ madman

I just knew someone else would have shared Michael Collins with St. Pat's day being so recent. I swear the rip I posted is from my own CD, LOL! Bought it back in the days when I'd go straight from the cinema to the record store when I saw a film with a score I loved. I recall "Kitty's Waltz", short piece though it is, was burned into my mind and I had to get the CD for that, if nothing else. Great score overall though, and loved the trivia you shared in your post. (Heat/Moby)

maxrebo said...

Hi everyone, first time posting on here and was wondering if anyone out there has these scores.

Superman 2
Die Hard 2
Spies Like Us
Starchaser the Legend of Orin (1985 animated film)
The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe (1979 animated film)
Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home

And I found a site but no links provided of complete scores to the Star Wars prequel trilogy and Return of the Jedi. All are 3 CD's, except for Menace, that was 4CD's. Does anyone out there have these?

Thanks everyone. This is a fantastic site.

luckymike said...

@ ms boricua

riddim1903 said...

Hello dear folks of the franklynot community.

Haven't been around for quite sometime, especially not in this nice house.

I have found something very beautiful from BASIL POLEDOURIS, 8 CD's full of SUITES of his immortal music.

I have, simply out of curiosity searched the google, so that I could find out about the record company who released this rich collection, from what I can muster, there is no such company as you’ll see on the album’s front cover, this is rather a compilation by another blogger like the most of us.

Dear QUINLAN, EVEN IF you feel like adding this to your March excel, please make sure that it horsie09 and not me. I am not the original uploader, but rather horsie09 with whom I assume that most of you may already be familiar with.

This person was kind to me in the past, I sure do not want to hurt or shake the trust.
All credits go to the original uploader, not to me at all. Please enjoy it:

CD-4 has one link only:)

Riddim...I was member of another movie soundtrack forum, around the time of Basil's passing...it was like a dark cloud was hovering. That's all we could talk about. It was a great loss to all of us. The forum no longer exists, but I can imagine a lot of us were members. It seems the original was started by one person...then it went under. Someone else stepped up and said he was "going to take it over, and make it even better". However, this one also went under. So, I guess you could say I was in this thing "through thick and thin".

I've been following this blog for many months now and just want to give a big "thanks" to all of you who have posted requests and shared many great things from your collections. I didn't mean to be in "stealth" mode for such a long time- but everytime someone requested something that I had it seemed someone else always beat me in posting it! So- just wanted to thank all of you for the love that's been shared around here- and also put in a request for one thing while I'm here - MAURICE by Richard Robbins from 1987- available as a single disc or as part of a 3 disc set that also includes the scores to Howard's End and A Room with a View - thanks again for all the great stuff- I'm in listening heaven!

Hope I'm not too late for an SNS. Had the Devil's own job getting uploads to RS. Why is that? Just get this 'Infinity' message...bizarre!

Still... for those that may be interested, and as a thank you to all the wonderful shares recently, my own rips at 320 of Rachel Portman's operatic version of 'The Little Prince'.

http://rapidshare.com/files/214911282/Little_Prince_2.rar

Having now got a cheap scanner, I'll attempt to do the covers. Could someone tell me the protocol for getting them onto the Artwork site, please?

Happy summer!

JAD

jeffhall said...

Thanks, boogiepop, but I just can't get them to play on my PC. However, I took a chance and burnt them onto CD and it plays, so go figure.

Southview212 said...

@ JASTERSDAD - Rapidshare "infinity"...it's uploading, just let it go. Nothing wrong, it will complete the upload.

To get scans to the Artwork Dept., just go into the forum and leave the download address of the scans, just as you leave the download address for scores here. It's as easy as that.

JADSTERSDAD said...

@Southview212

Cheers for that! I'll give it a go. Guess I was just too impatient about the music upload. Or maybe it's because I only have a collector's account currently?

riddim1903 said...

Here are a few things more:

BOTTLE SHOCK (by Mark Adler-2008)

I fell in love with the film, while watching it the soundtrack almost said :"buy me, buy me" so I did. I keep listening to it almost daily lately. But like most web download sites this too came with a front cover, for which I created a back cover (in the artwork). If you can find the original covers great, but until then this is it: @320 kbps

ARTWK:

DWNLD:
http://rapidshare.com/files/211037089/Mark_Adler-Bttl_Shk.rar

=====================

This too is a web dwnld buy, again the back cover's no riginal (obvious, you'll see)

DEBIE WISEMAN with the Royal Philharmonic various film and TV scores.

I loved this and I'm sure most of you will, also

@Big Cheese

Take Wild's advice: download Midieval Cue Splitter. It's a free gem (and not just for Flac files).

http://www.medieval.it/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=28&Itemid=70

You simply open the program, drag both the flac file and the cue file into the body. It will ask you where you want the newly split files sent and that's it.

Yeah...I'd also like to have the 3D version of Shogun. I remember when that series was first shown on PBS...it used a narrator at the beginning. Then they changed it, for "some reason", and the narration was taken out. (I always like the part with the narration).

Hey thanks so much for Crossed Swords...Wanted this for some time. I'll think of all our lost heroes as I listen to it. And I'm more thankful than ever for the few I have left.

And instead of just looking back, I have a kind word for one of the new generation. Anyone listened to Beltrami's new score for "Knowing?" Pretty terrific effort, & really has something to say in the context of the film itself. (Can't imagine the big subway set-piece without it). Forgot how nice that was in a modern big-budget film: when the film & score work together unforgettably. It seems there's good stuff out there, but it doesn't really lodge itself in your brain and make you wanna hear it again. Remember how you felt sitting in the cinema and the main title from Signs actually blew you away? This is that sorta stuff. There's a lot of Herrmannesque stuff going on. Actually, it sounds like an hommage to Williams' most Herrmanesque passages of The Fury & CE3K. It's a great throwback to my favorite sound of the past, but updated and its own thing too. I was really impressed, and the cd gets better with each listen. Yay Marco! Hope some of you have heard it and agree. I don't mean to be a tease and not share it, but I don't share music that just came out, even SNS. But...it's probably over at you-know-where if you want it. You didn't hear it from me, though. :)

Does anyone have Jarre's complete score to Mosquito Coast?
**** **** ****

I think in the beginning of the 80's he one was of the first composers whom I appreciated; I suppose it was the David Lean connection and his cross-over success with the likes of Lara's Theme and both Lawrence and Ryan's Daughter. Of course, there's more to the man than Lean, but for a lot of us this was a portal into the art of the serious composer.

I could not help but notice the terrible news regarding our beloved Maurice Jarre's untimely passing.

Additionally, as a scarcely visiting member of this glorious Filmscorium, there is no way I should lack the audacity of expressing my deepest sympathy for a musical legend

However, as far as I go, I only knew him on account of his electronic/synthetic masterpieces to films such as "Ghost," "After Dark, My Sweet," "No Way Out," "Apology," "Witness," "Enemy Mine," "Gorillas in the Mist," and other electronic scores of his.

Nevertheless, this is for Maurice Jarre: "We shall miss you, dearly and severely; on behalf of all of us at Isbums, may God bless you and your family, and may you enjoy your rest in a better place."

All the best,
-SB

YOUNG DOCTORS IN LOVE - Maurice Jarre

Before I begin a crusade (Intrada!!!!) to see this lovely, fun score see a release, I need a copy of this LP to tide me over....just finished watching the film again, and am trying not to tear up...silly huh? THRILLERS!

I'm putting together another entry in my Crime Jazz series of comilations and need some help :)

I'm going for a 70's Thriller type of collection but want to use something more than the usual stuff churned out on these albums.

If anyone has anything they think would fit I would be very grateful for the help. If it gets used on the album you will be credited on the cover.

To give you an idea of the sort of thing I'm looking for, here's some examples...

Escape From Alcatraz
Charley Varrick
The Hot Rock
Telefon
The Mechanic
Thunderbolt & Lightfoot

I've grabbed the MacKintosh Man and The Anderson Tapes shared here recently :)

Just single "Main Theme" tracks is all I need (any source will do)

You can drop any links here or at my place.

Thanks in advance for the help :)
