A short note from Filmpac.

Enough with this gobble-dee-gook bullshit. This blog is not now, nor has it ever been... searchable.

(1) It's a constantly shifting comments post, with multiple pages per month. And multiple months.
(2) Google cannot and does not search comments. Period.
(3) Google especially cannot and does not search comments on blogs that do not subscribe to the Google feed. Period.

Sure, disguise the label, if you must. But mangle everything and you run the risk of nobody having a clue what it is you are sharing, or downloading it, or ever being able to find it again once you do in order to thank the person you may or may not downloaded it off, assuming you can work out what the heck it is you downloaded in the first place.

Alrighty, that might have been a little too strong, after a long and difficult day.

Please allow me to rephrase.

Southview threw the cat amongst the pigeons up there with his IMPORTANT announcement. I've no doubt this was well intentioned. But for those of us who have been around a while, this is all old news. Happens as regular as clockwork. Seriously.

For the sake of our collective sanity, and without going into reasons that should be all too obvious, let's just agree that its probably in everyone's best interests not to mention record labels.

Something that I personally never do anyhow, and am happy to see that sorei doesn't either.

Sorry sorei, couldn't resist hehe :)

I recall downloading a Star Trek album with the folder tag "TheBestOfStarTrekVol1" which looked like one of the Cr3sc3nd0 releases but was in fact the Zed?x (if you can dechypher that)title "BestOfStarTrek" with 37 tracks - track 2 on this lasts all of 9 seconds and is an SFX. If that's what you're missing it should take only a few moments to upload.

Hello,

A few months ago there was a link for Goldfinger (John Barry), the expanded score. Unfortunatly, that link is dead. I'm a huge Bondfan and you would do me a favour te re-up that link. Are there by the way expanded scores for:
- From russia
- The man with the goldun gun
- Moonraker
- Live and let die

Robert, I tried that link, but the versions he had are the "normal" ones and not the expanded, and the one from Goldfinger that is expanded, is the link dead and from The man with the golden gun only part 1 is there...So the request made earlier by me is still needed...

One the great things about this site is how helpful everyone is!

Thank you very much for the offer, but the CD in question is indeed the Crescendo release, with track 2 being music lasting 5 min 19 sec. I did a little research on soundtrackcollector.com and discovered that the 37 track CD you mention is a German release from ZYX Records (which explains the Zed?x labelling).

I did find another link for the Crescendo CD. The bit rate is only 160, but at least it is complete.

***RECOMMENDATION***
As I saw the movie "Krabat", I recognized that there is a beautiful woman voice that
is not included in the score.
So I mixed it in the belonging track and the result is extremely satisfying (at least for me ;))

I uploaded it, the audio quality is really good (converted ac3 to wav, and flac to wav, then I did the mix and converted the final track to flac),
the archive includes 2 tracks
(original track and the mix):

01-Annette Focks - Krabat - 06
- Osterlied

02-Annette Focks - Krabat - 06
- Osterlied [mixed_with_voice]

Finally! Here's Rire et Châtiment by Various Artists & Alexandre Desplat. As mentioned before the score part is kinda short. I added a score suite I found online as a bonus track.
16 Tracks @ 320(there is a hidden track after a short pause in track 16)

Thanks so much for Horner's "Beyond Borders". But I'm having a problem downloading it and I was wondering if anyone is having trouble. I enter the code on the first page of Megaupload and then it takes me to the second screen, I wait 45 seconds 'til the timer runs down and when I hit 'download' the screen goes blank. Any thoughts...? An unqualified thank you, however, for "Raggedy Man" and an upgrade for "Jaws 2" (a score that transcended the movie if ever there was one!).

I found the album I was looking for elsewhere but in so doing I came across a great download of "The Twilight Zone Original Television Episode Soundtracks". A 3 volume set of 50 individual episode tracks from the series. I'm not sure of the provenance but it seems to be a project originally uploaded on Demonoid. This was what I was thinking of re-upping to The Planeterium. It's a lot of material so, providing it hasn't appeared before, now's as good a time as any to see if there is any interest in this?

VS (or was it VS/Strlog?) released three lps of Twilight Zone and most but not all of the tracks were later released by VS on 2 CDs. Years later a 4-disc Slvuh TZ (40th anniversary) was re-released with all (I believe) of the original VS lp tracks plus Herrmann's Space Suite. I don't know if the 3-lp set is the 3-album set you refered to. Hope I'm wrong, 'cause any unfamiliar TZ would be welcome. The 3 VS lps, the 2 VS CDs, the 4 Slvuh re-release, and the VS Herrmann-only are the only original series TZ that I'm aware of. In other words, I don't know of any original series TZ that isn't covered by the Herrmann-only and the 40th anniversary albums. Maybe some boot DVD rips out there somewhere, dunno...

I have a question about the soundtrack to the movie "Legend", starring tom cruise and mia sara...i've been looking for jerry goldsmith's score, i found something extended, 30 songs, but with no tags or anything except it was labeled "legend - two steps from hell". What is that?Is this the right version? now i see that there's also a soundtrack by Tangerine Dream, it's very confusing...:)

Help, please?

Ms Boricua said...

@AmorFati, no, that's trailer music.

Nuno Machado said...

@AmorFati - There are two official albums of Ridley Scott "Legend".
One is the album with Tangerine Dream music that was used in the movie, and the other is Jerry Goldsmith score (14 Tracks), which was not used in the film.
As far as I know, only the european version of the movie did use bits of Goldsmith score, but I'm not sure.
And I think I've seen a bootleg version of Goldsmith score, perhaps it's the 30 tracks version you found.

@ Legend Collectors

I have all the legend CD's. The 20th anniversary is a bootleg, although it is a factory pressed disc. There really isn't much extra on it, so if You happen to own the entire TD catalogue, save Your money. The Thief 20th anniversary and The Keep, are made by a small bootleg label called OrangeRecords, based in Canada.

I own about 180 TD CD's, out of all of them, My favorite Score is still Thief, as it was the first TD I ever bought, on a cassette no less. But I would have to say that the Virgin Years ('74-'75) were of their best creative works to date.

The Goldsmith Score was used in the UK film version that was distributed by 20th Century fox. The movie is cut longer and has a different feel to it. If You have the chance I recommend it, although the US version is still My favorite.

It would have been nice if Universal would have released the Television version in the 2-disc DVD that was put out a few years back.

TD would be my Top choice, if I had the opportunity to have them score a film in which I Wrote and Directed.

REAL GENIUS - V/A (1985)

Speaking of Soundtracks, I just finished My complete upgrades to the unreleased soundtrack of REAL GENIUS. There was a fan made comp floating around on the net, but unfortunately the bit rates are quite low 128 - 192. Mine will run 224-320. I will most likely try to even them out to 256 k. Getting all the sources has been time consuming, but well worth it. As I have found All the full length CD or LP rips. I have never been satisfied with the low bit rate boot, so I'll make a better one.

Tonio K's 'The Tuff Do What?' It's the only song missing and unfortunately will NEVER see the light of day due to the fact that TK's producers destroyed the masters of it. geezus.

I will keep You all posted, as I have ordered 2 iomega TB external drives, which I should receive this week. Then I need to transfer all the files over and this will free up space on My mac in order to do all this.

Cheers! \ ( - _ - ) /

The 2003 expanded composer promo to the 1997 score by David Bergeaud. "Prince Valiant" is a really nice, big orchestra, knightly action/adventure score.....

Huge thanx for sharing the link @320K to Marco Polo's "The Egyptian"! Been looking for it for some time. Thanx to the original uploader, too!

@ Roryseber -
I'm uploading The Boy Who Could Fly, right now.
Did you know that when the expanded version was released in 2001, there were only 500 copies made. It was available for over a month before being sold out.

@ WriterDirectorCollector - Thief! One of my favorite movies of all time and favorite scores! I work with a man who lived in the same neighborhood as James Caan's house in the movie and watched the effects crew blow it up...I'm so jealous. Re the score, I wore the LP down to dust I listened to it so often. Unfortunately, when I first got into the digital realm I ripped the CDs as lowly 128s and sold them to fund more purchases.

I'd dearly love to have a copy of whatever you have at 320. Thanks!
