@ Legend collectors. The Story of the Legend score is a strange, yet a typical studio case. Jerry Goldsmith first wrote this amazing score in a very conflictual relationship with director Ridley Scott (Remember, they collaborated on Alien few years before).
The Studio didn't like the test-screening and decided to replace the score.
So, wy Tangerine Dream?
Tom Cruise became a Star the previous year with "Riscky Business", score composed by ...TD! As usual, a studio wants to repeat as much as possible a succes by putting back all the ingredients. It was then decided to let the Goldsmith's score for the European release and to re-edit the film with TD's score for the US. An american score in Europe, an European one in the States!!
In 1989, I had the chance to briefly meet Jerry Goldsmith in London. He didn't say much on the film, except he was still very Angry with what happened. It seems The director didn't fight against the Studio's decision to change the score.
To compare both editings is very interesting. A dvd was released with both versions few years ago... Anyway, a very good double-score to listen to!
i anyone out there can full fill it i would be grateful

It seems Ridley has a bit of a history with pissing off some of the composers that score his films. Ridley is one Tough Director, but a Damn Good One at that. There was a similar situation between Mr. Scott and Vangelis during the Blade Runner project, in which Ridley decided to keep some of the 'temp' music in the film. Vangelis was Pissed to say the least, and therefore a soundtrack album was shelved.
Warner decides to slap Vangelis' fans in the face with an alternative album featuring jazz musician Tom Scott with The New American Orchestra. It's not bad if You like Jazz music, but I'm just' sayin': ))
Why Warner didn't commission MECO (ex: An American Werewolf in London) to do the alternative album is beyond all logic. To this day the You can still see "Soundtrack available on Polydor Records" at the end titles roll, and every time it still hurts.
One could only imagine what an original release album would have been like, perhaps something like the way Chariots of Fire was done, with film tracks on one side, and a 'suite' on the other.
Teaser: [When I get some time I will re-post the 30 minute 'suite' of 'unreleased cues', none of which have been available on previous bootlegs especially at this sound quality, 196k but You will notice right away what I'm saying as far as unreleased cues in there raw form. It's not a mix of cues, they do have gaps but they are all on 1 mp3 file, but they seem to be rough mixes and edits for the scoring sessions.]
This of course prompted various fan made bootlegs throughout the years, some good and some real pieces of S@#T.
I still recall one day in '94, purchasing the official release. It got Me all misty eyed, but I wasn't sure if it was the crappy way they overlaid dialogue over the main titles, or the unreleased songs included. We would have to wait 13 years later for the 25th anniversary edition, just to get a few more tracks in studio quality sound. This would have been the perfect opportunity for Vangelis and Warner to fix the '94 release, as they could have did disc 1 with all the cues in the film and on disc 2, put unused cues or suites. Disc 3 could be left as is. Instead We get the same traetment on CD 2, like We got back on the '94 release.
As for Bootlegs, I personally own the 1993 OWM numbered edition of 2000, the Gongo version and the Deck Art limited hand numbered to 500. These 3 were all factory pressed, not - CDR. I even own the Bounty 2-disc OWM limited to 2000 as well. I hope to see an official version some day, as most of us know the sound quality is less than tolerable, but they do make for great collecting.
But I still have My 1983 cassette rip I took off the stereo Beta tape, I still have that. Now that I think of it, I have every Laserdisc ever released in both the US & Japan. Of all the versions, I still have a soft spot for the 2-disc Criterion [CAV].
@WDC I'm one of the lucky ones who saw Blade Runner as a theatrical release and one of the idiots who bought this and that releases on VHS and DVD.I can honestly say that nothing, DVD, video or soundtrack has ever come within a mile of reproducing the joy of that first encounter. This is one film where I simply do not care who wrote what or who did this or that. Scott gave an interview with Empire magazine in London where he addresses this idea that he is a "difficult" director and I'm gutted that I can't reproduce that for you now but I will scan and upload what I consider to be one of the best interviews he's has ever given. Vangelis is not exactly any director's friend either, how many has he fallen out with?
@Mamoulian Definitely. The upload speed here kinda sucks but holidays are over on thursday and studies start again. Which means I can finally upload at the university again which means everything working out much faster. Please bear with me for couple of days more.
@gsw & benbridges: I went to bed last night and, as I was starting to dose off, a few titles popped into my head so I literally got out of bed, shot of a quick request and hoped for the best. What a great surprise to find that both of you had filled my request by the time I got up in the morning. benbriges, thank you for "Rosewood" and gsw, thank you for "Jaws" and "Witness" and, incidentally, for "Lawrence of Arabia". (I've been on a serious Jarre jag lately!)
@Ballyhooers: Here's "Princess Bride" @192. Maybe this can tide you over until someone comes up with an upgrade. Enjoy.
"The Princess Bride" by Mark Knopfler @320 artwork included Princess Bride - Mark Knopfler 12@192 http://rapidshare.com/files/270191433/MKTPB.rar pass: asher
@sorei: There's a bit of synchronicity! Thanks (in advance) for the "Princess" upgrade. And I know what you mean – it was nice to actually HAVE something you needed, too! ;-)
@steven *lol* I am ripping (@320 of course) Yes it's nice to not only have it virtually (but I only have about 60 soundtracks 'real', the rest is all virtual)
I won't have time for artwork-scans though, please forgive me.
I'm not sure which one You are referencing, could it be the New American Orchestra, released in 82, or is this actual Vangelis? If so I would be quite interested in it.
Speaking of laserdisc, I just received a Rare item from a win on eBay...
Laservision with DIGITAL SOUND - demonstration disc [LDD-DEMO-!] made in Japan, and Mint condition. It was from a seller called Laserdisc Vault. and they have a lot of rare LD's.
One of the coolest features on this demo disc is a clib of Elmer Bernstein conducting the Metropolitan Opera performing Loenore Overture No. 3, this man is amazing to watch conduct, such energy.
This disc originally came with the Pioneer LD-900. It was the first LD/CD combi player on the market back in 1986, although it was rather bulky, something Darth Vader would have had if He was a laserdisc fan. My first LD player was a top loader that I had purchased at the Federated Group back in the early eighties, some of You southlanders might remember that store, it was the catalyst to what the electronic chain stores are today, such as Circuit City, Good Guys and Best Buy.
After My LD-900 took a crapper, the servo swing arm mechanism, that has both spindle motors, is the first to go on these units, then the eject stops working. My 3rd player was a CDV player, which played the 5" video single that went as fast as the 3" CD single craze did.
Then I tried a Sony LD-550, it too went a little funny, but when I find a Sony service shop here in Sweden, it will get fixed.
I currently own a Pioneer CLD-S104 combi player and it works like a charm. Someday I will purchase a LD/DVD player, but those are hard to come by and are extremely expensive.
Bottom Line, I love Laserdisc, don't get Me wrong, DVD's are great, as they provide a wealth of extra material that might exceed a LD capability, but there is something nostalgic about the Laserdisc.
The positive thing about them today is that it promotes exercise in the home, via the old get up and flip the disc over, unless of course someone has the auto reverse player, then it's back to couch potato.
I'm with you on LaserDisc. I have a pioneer CLD-702 and I modified it to allow for Dolby Digital out and it works like a charm.
Several LD features have not been ported over to DVD, which is why I've kept it. Star Wars and The Frighteners Special Edition come to mind. I think Universal made less than 1000 of the Frighteners because it was almost impossible to find and I only lucked into one. For a while they were going for upwards of $400 on ebay.
Good soundtrack as well. If anyone is interested, I can post it.
I saw that rare LD/DVD and I wish there was still such a beast as I'm running out of room in my rack. At least I found a BD/HD-DVD combo deck for cheap last December.
JVC actually made a CD-player/turntable 20 years ago. The CD's went under the turntable somehow. Always thought that was an interesting combo.
Sorry to go so off topic..We now return you to the soundtracks already in progress.
Most likely it is. What is printed on the the disc should either say made in EU, germany or England (UK). There should be an LC number on the right side of the disc and back of the insert. What is the complete catalogue number on the spine of the jewel case?
I have all 3 first pressings of the New American Orchestra versions from Japan, German and US, as well as the official '94 Vangelis releases. The latest 3-disc 25th Anniversary edition I have is from the EU, but I had read that there is a U.S. pressing, but I don't think I'll add it to My collection.

Last Year I purchased a SQUEEZE LD of Terminator 2, off a site called Tradera, which is owned by eBay. I paid 500:- kronor which is about $71.00, it was a steal, as the Squeeze Laserdisc's are quite rare and can well sell in the hundreds range.
The Most RAREST of Laserdiscs that I have ever bought however, is a music video of ARCADIA - So Red The Rose, that one was a whopping $500.00. I have not seen one since, so it must have been a limited short pressing.
I going to sleep now, as it's 11:10 PM here in Sweden, Codkväl.
@WriterDirectorCollector: Is the SQUEEZE laserdisc of "T2" you're talking about the one with the featurette about sound-design that has the examples of Ah-nold's shotgun blast? A friend of mine made me a chrome VHS of that disc with all the 'extras' and I still have it! With all the different "Deluxe" and "Director's Cut" editions of the DVD, I've never seen all the extras that laserdisc had. I never owned a player myself, by I thought the one my friend had was way cool. Now Blu-ray has given me another piece of technology to fall helplessly behind on. lol!
Tusen takk for the trip down memory lane. ;-) (You too, joeytino)
The most I paid was about $100 US for the recalled Criterion James Bond discs. Supposedly something in the commentaries offended the Broccolli clan and the unsold discs were recalled and destroyed.
Don't know what bothered them...good commentaries.
**MORE REQUESTS** "Lassiter" by Ken Thorne - This is a TWS but I was just wondering...
"My Favorite Year (1982)" by Ralph Burns - I didn't even know this existed as a released score, but it's listed at SoundtrackCollector. They don't have any information listed on it though, so I thought I'd put it out there.
"The Gumball Rally (c.1977)" by Dominic Frontiere - I've never seen nor heard of this anywhere but, again, if it exists in some way, shape, or form I thought maybe someone here might know.
"Popi" by Dominic Frontiere (1969)" - This one does exist but I've worn out my cassette of it and I've never seen another copy floating around.
As always, I really appreciate everyone's help. (Especially with some these obscure only-a-mother-could-love requests!)
@joeytino: The Bond people had a lot of in-fighting going on a few years back (in the middle of making money hand-over-fist!) so I guess we shouldn't be too surprised if they had a problem with some innocuous comment on your laserdisc. But I'd love to know what the "offending" comment(s) were!
No idea who the uploader was, just found it with a whole bunch of other links, but i think its from an old blog that y'all (Isbum) used to go. youdonthave something like that. In any case, thx to the original uploader!
Someone - the other day was asking about rare BARRY GRAY. Search as I might I can not find who, so this offering is for whoever requested some rare Gray. I do have a couple of other bits - but I need to stretch 'em out as there are only a few. So here is the series end titles to the Gerry Anderson series STINGRAY, "Aqua Marina" as sung by - or in this case NOT sung by Garry Miller.
PS Forthcoming attractions!!! Tomorrow at the Classic Music forum a real rarety. A snippet of Elgar conducting Elgar, (he died in 1934), in true stereo.
@Ms Boricua: You rock! Muah!! I checked out the link you posted, too. Yowza! (Now if I can just figure out what I'm yowza-ing about.)
Daddy Isbum: You rock, too! (no 'muah' for you, tho) I also finally downloaded and listened to "Mentor"; very nice. And I'm on my way to "Wild Geese II" so thank you for that and for introducing me to the wide world of Budd - very cool cat.
@ Ms Boricua - Well...that says it comes from Jordan's "More Stuff for Wasting Time" (his play on Nomwl1's You Don't Have To Visit..) So, maybe he ripp... ah, who cares! I ripped one of them Popi's that's floatin' out in cyberland.
On the topic of Ridley Scott and his composers, I'd have to dig through my archives to find the actual magazine article but in an interview back in 1979 he stated that his first choice to score Alien had been Isao Tomita...but that the studio wouldn't go for it.
That would've been interesting! It reminds me of William Friedkin's comment on the back of the Sorcerer soundtrack LP that had he known of Tangerine Dream four years earlier he'd have asked them to score The Exorcist.
@WriterDirectorCollector - Ah, laser discs. I actually have quite a collection. My wife hates them ("you have to get up and turn it over?!!), but I just love the LP-sized beauties. My favorites in my collection are The Beatles Anthology and the eight-hour stage version of Nicholas Nickleby.
Man, I miss them. Before DVD, I had a really crap laserdisc player gotten from a high school that sold it off. (It was a top loader!) Used to ride the bus for 40 minutes to get to the rental place way outside of town every Saturday. Always a treat.
I just wish Criterion could re-publish some of their of out of print DVDs and old laserdisc editions on DVD. The Criterion editions of CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND, THE KILLERS, HARD BOILED, THE FISHER KING and SID & NANCY were all far more complete than subsequent DVD offerings. And their TAXI DRIVER, THIS IS SPINAL TAP, BLADE RUNNER and GHOSTBUSTERS lasers still have stuff that hasn't been seen since. Sigh...
Mamoulian said... For those who are more interested in GRAEME REVELL's stuff, here is Basketball Diaries + South Africa - my rip and up, no track titles, enjoy!
Thanks so much. I can't find any information about South Africa (soundtrack??). Please could you help me with that? Thanks again. Cheers
I don't want to be "that guy," Mr. One-Upper, but if anyone would like to have the 1992 Silva Screen Lawrence (SSD 1010) at a better bitrate, let me know, I have the actual cd.
This is not the 2000 release, but the 1992 release of Tony Bremner conducting the Philharmonia Orchestra.
@ Ms Boricua - I'm half-tempted to download that "Popi" just so I can shout "Who's your Daddy?" while it's unpacking. Nothing more fun than a "Paternity Test" without having to go on the Maury Povich Show.
See here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8IZDqnZDw7o
@ All - What a great month my friends! 2nd highest in comments! June (1912 Comments) Thank you ALL for sharing your music and good will towards each other here!
@ boogiepop: Thank you very much for Rire et Châtiment! Even though the score part is very short, I'm happy to check out this Desplat! ;)
@ Southview212: Thank you very much for your help with my lossless requests! It's always something special if one can provide HQ audio files, so it's VERY appreciated!
@ gsw: Thanks for Psycho III!
@ Ms Boricua: I burned a 2 disc bootleg of Cutthroat Island years ago. But don't have the files anymore, therefore I'm searching this specific 33-tracks version. The music is quite different comparing to the 38-tracks version. Mine has twittering bird sounds in it & that makes this music so special. I scanned the custom covers for the 33-tracks version and uploaded them...they are in the post below...
This is the original 1990 CD release of Maurice Jarre's "Lawrence Of Arabia". It's the original 1962 movie score. I'm sharing this at both 320 mp3 and lossless-FLAC.
Lawrence of Arabia @ 320 mp3..... http://rapidshare.com/files/286970669/LawrenceOfArabia_MJ_vsd-5263.rar
Lawrence of Arabia, lossless-FALC http://www.megaupload.com/?d=5WYO0HDB
i was wondering whether anyone out there had Silva Screen Lawrence of arabia 2000 edition?? the music is supposed to be enhanced with dolby surround sound
If the current 8-CD set of suites from BASIL POLEDOURIS over at Ruggo And Jean's House Of Fine Compilations is the same one posted some time ago at FranklyYes, it is fantastic.
If not...Thank you for the wonderful addition to this composer's collection.
"Hi, guys! My native language is portuguese and I can't understand some phrases of the song below. Can somebody please write here the whole lyrics for me?"
@ Ms Boricua: Another issue. Could you perhaps help me out with a torrent link to a nice score @lossless? As you know I don't use this kind of download method.
I don't have the direct link, just this site: Zbigniew Preisner - The Beautiful Country http://torrents.ru/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1113014
Would be great if you can help me here! Just let me know :)
I've been searching the whole sea, my friends, but still eight John Barry pieces missing in my puzzle:
John Barry:
Night Games (1980) Peggy Sue Got Married (1986) Cry The Beloved Country (1995) Swept From The Sea (1998) The Appointment (1969) The L-Shaped Room (1962) The Glass Menagerie (1973) Svengali (1983)
I've been everywhere, all in vain. Can you help me?
Where have you been all my life? We should have met dreams ago* Though you're a little late, love was worth the wait, as we now know
Where have you been all my life? If only I knew you then To think that you and I let the time go by time and again
But that was then, my love And now is now, my dear And I just don't know where we're gonna go from here I'm getting more confused with every smile you smile When you've been wrong before you have to think a while
Where have you been all my life? The life you helped me forget I want to stay with you, run away with you, but not just yet
I remember almost a year ago I could find video-ripped zip-files of those ultra hard to find John Barry scores: L-Shaped Room, Glass Menagerie, Touched By Love, Day Of The Locust, Black Hole, Beat Girl, Walkabout.
REAL GENIUS [The 25th Anniversary Remastered Edition]*
*August of 2010 will mark the 25th anniversary release of the film. I chose to do this project now out of inspiration from being on this wonderful forum and frustration as to what was originally uploaded on the net by a fan of the film. Unfortunately their version sounded like crap. So this one should make it right, as it's "A Moral Imperative" & " I Aced This", but can I "Hammer a 6" Nail in the Ground with My..?" Maybe in the morning. lol
LIMITED EDITION POST... This will be posted here this weekend and the link will be deleted after that. So Please, No Reposting or distributing outside of this forum, as this is to be a gift for the members of this blog only, not the rest of the world. That's what makes it so special here.
If this OST were to have been released officially, it most likely would have been by A -&- M Records, due to the fact that a majority of these artist had records issued during this time from the label. I would imagine there could have been legal issues between record company's as well as the low box office take.
Generally 80's film soundtracks did well with the promotion of various pop artist.
On the Tech: I worked My ass off, 4 hours total, doing the clean up and conversions on Final Cut Express HD Soundtrack. All the original sound files were sourced from both LP and CD. Even though I had better K rate sources, who ever ripped the full length LP's did a piss poor job, but I did manage to bring out the best of them. They have been reformatted to 256 kbps. The original source files were anywhere from 209 VBR to 320 kbps.
Included in the file...
The Music* in film order (11 tracks @ 256)
1-"You Took Advantage of Me" performed by Carmen McRae 2-"Summertime Girls" performed by Y&T 3-"The Pleasure Seekers" performed by The System 4-"The Walls Come Down" performed by The Call 5-"I'm Falling" performed by Comsat Angels 6-"One Night Love Affair" performed by Bryan Adams 7-"All She Wants to Do Is Dance", performed by Don Henley 8-"Number One" performed by Chaz Jankel 9-"You're the Only Love" performed by Paul Hyde and the Payolas 10-"Standing in Line" performed by The Textones 11-"Everybody Wants to Rule the World" performed by Tears for Fears
The Soundtrack Covers (3) The Artist Covers (11) Lyrics Embeded for iPod / iTouch
*The only track missing and NOT available; TONIO K - The Tough Do What? This would have been track No. 2, if it were to be had.
NOTE: If there is somebody, especially those who may know someone in music industry that can obtain this rare song, PLEASE by all means post it here, so I can amend it to the album.
My wife was kind enough to purchase 2 new 1TB drives for me, as of this writing, I'm converting the first drive to My mac -8 hours to go- so when I wake up in the morning it should be finished. I can then reset My itunes folder to the new dedicated drive. Once that is finished I shall proceed to convert the other drive and then add My back up files to that one.
I still need to figure a way out to convert it to a .rar file. I work an a mac book pro, and the only thing I have is a .stx file - most of You bloggers have trouble opening that kind of file, any suggestions for this would help in the process of getting to You all.
I thought about asking someone here to design some new cover artwork. If the interest is sparked to be creative, Please let Me know.
and a special bonus, The scoring session takes (at least the ones I have), for "The Betsy". I've posted this once before, but I re-uploaded it with artwork (front & back). The artwork will explain what is being presented. @320.....
@ Colonel Saunders - OK, here's two virtually unkonown Barry scores.
"Touched By Love" - A lot of background music. Overbearing dialogue and SFX. No artwork but the tracks are named, @128..... http://rapidshare.com/files/287150277/TouchedByLove_JB_DVDrip.rar
"Inside Moves" - I only have two instrumental tracks from this score, @320..... http://rapidshare.com/files/287150279/InsideMoves_JB_2trks.rar
@ Colonel Saunders - I think you can help me. Not too long ago Tonnie requested some James Bond "re-mastered version" scores, which I don't have. Maybe you could share these scores for him: From Russia With Love The Man With The Golden Gun Moonraker Live And Let Die
@ WriterDirectorCollector (or anyone else who can help)
The other day you mentioned Thief in your post. Not sure if you saw my response, but I too am a huge fan of that movie & soundtrack and would love to upgrade my copies to a higher bitrate if you have one!
Already in my hands those 11 tracks. I obtained them from Torrent but with Variable Bit Rate (VBR). I will be very happy in having your version to 256 kbps. I'm waiting your link with anxiety. Thanks so much for your great job. Have a nice day. Best regards
@ all: I have also posted some Sarde, Duhamel, and Misraki scores at the Euro-Cine Scores site, some Doctor Who music at the Sci-Fi Planetarium site, and even an odd music album at the Rocket From mars site!

thanx if you can post it... it would be great!!! ....just wanted to confirm if it is the "Remastered in HDCD and Dolby Surround" version?
@pauline
Teaser:
[When I get some time I will re-post the 30 minute 'suite' of 'unreleased cues', none of which have been available on previous bootlegs especially at this sound quality, 196k but You will notice right away what I'm saying as far as unreleased cues in there raw form.
I guess You could see I'm somewhat of a BR fan...
Cheers \ ( - _ - ) /

Hi; i'm looking for MOSES (2CD) RCA records by ennio morricone. Thank you.
@WDC
I'm one of the lucky ones who saw Blade Runner as a theatrical release and one of the idiots who bought this and that releases on VHS and DVD.I can honestly say that nothing, DVD, video or soundtrack has ever come within a mile of reproducing the joy of that first encounter. This is one film where I simply do not care who wrote what or who did this or that.
Scott gave an interview with Empire magazine in London where he addresses this idea that he is a "difficult"
director and I'm gutted that I can't reproduce that for you now but I will scan and upload what I consider to be one of the best interviews he's has ever given.
Vangelis is not exactly any director's friend either, how many has he fallen out with?

@WriterDirectorCollector
Regarding your Blade Runner post. I have an 8 track import Vangelis soundtrack from 1982 on the w3@ label (I hope that isn't TOO cryptic)
Is this the one you have from 1994? If not I will post what I have.
BTW I still have my Criterion and a player to play it on.
I'm sure you read Paul Sammon's detailed book from 1996.
@joeytino
Cheers! \ ( - _ - ) /
Boogiepop, Mamoulian & Nanus, you're welcome.
@Sorei, tyvm for princess bride.
Does anyone have The Exorcist? but the one release in 1998 in the us. 2nd track is "Five Pieces For Orchestra". W@rnerBro$ 16177.
I understand is a rare one. If anyone can help, i would be eternally in debt to you. Thx.
@WriterDirectorCollector
Yes, it is the New American Orchestra. So is this the European pressing of the US soundtrack. Or was this never released in the US?
@WriterDirectorCollector
@joeytino
Cheers!

I'll chime in on the rare laser topic as well.
@WriterDirectorCollector:
Is the SQUEEZE laserdisc of "T2" you're talking about the one with the featurette about sound-design that has the examples of Ah-nold's shotgun blast?

"Lassiter" by Ken Thorne - This is a TWS but I was just wondering...
@joeytino:
The Bond people had a lot of in-fighting going on a few years back (in the middle of making money hand-over-fist!) so I guess we shouldn't be too surprised if they had a problem with some innocuous comment on your laserdisc. But I'd love to know what the "offending" comment(s) were!

I don't know if this would be considered a weekend special, but does someone have the Christopher Lennertz promo score to Adam?
Thanks!
Quite a thought...

re: laserdiscs
Sigh...

Sniff...
Nobody answered my request:
"Hi, guys! My native language is portuguese and I can't understand some phrases of the song below.
Can somebody please write here the whole lyrics for me?"
http://rapidshare.com/files/286683336/09._Where_Have_You_Been_All_My_Life__vocals_by_Trevor_Chance_.mp3.html
Please, help me, man! Tank you!
@ Ms Boricua:
Another issue.
Could you perhaps help me out with a torrent link to a nice score @lossless? As you know I don't use this kind of download method.
I don't have the direct link, just this site:
Zbigniew Preisner - The Beautiful Country
http://torrents.ru/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1113014
Would be great if you can help me here!
Just let me know :)
Isbum, thank you so much! You have no idea how long I've been looking for a complete LITW score!
I've been searching the whole sea, my friends, but still eight John Barry pieces missing in my puzzle:
John Barry:
Night Games (1980)
Peggy Sue Got Married (1986)
Cry The Beloved Country (1995)
Swept From The Sea (1998)
The Appointment (1969)
The L-Shaped Room (1962)
The Glass Menagerie (1973)
Svengali (1983)
I've been everywhere, all in vain. Can you help me?
In peril,
Saunders
Does anyone have Robert Cobert's "Night Stalker and Other Classic Thrillers"?
I've been watching some Kolchak and this CD has the music from those early movies. Thanks.
@Elias
Re: Where Have You Been All My Life?
Here's what the words sound like to me - the vocals come across pretty clearly so I think I've got them right!

Have fun singing along!
@ Donovan's Brain - I believe The Alchemist posted it recently.
If not, I'm quite sure he has it in his collection.

@ Elias,
Where Have You Been All My Life
Where have you been all my life?
We should have met dreams ago*
Though you're a little late,
love was worth the wait,
as we now know
Where have you been all my life?
If only I knew you then
To think that you and I
let the time go by
time and again
But that was then, my love
And now is now, my dear
And I just don't know where
we're gonna go from here
I'm getting more confused
with every smile you smile
When you've been wrong before
you have to think a while
Where have you been all my life?
The life you helped me forget
I want to stay with you,
run away with you,
but not just yet
Is this page dead?
RARE SOUNDTRACK VAULTS
http://soundtrackfan.com/blog/index.php?s=john+barry&x=0&y=0
I remember almost a year ago I could find video-ripped zip-files of those ultra hard to find John Barry scores: L-Shaped Room, Glass Menagerie, Touched By Love, Day Of The Locust, Black Hole, Beat Girl, Walkabout.
Today, it's not working anymore.
@ Donovan's Brain: Here is the Night Stalker:

@ all: Someone once said, "What have you done for me lately?" Well, I haven't posted anything lately but I hope to rectify that situation shortly.
!!! UPDATE !!!
On the Tech:
I worked My ass off, 4 hours total, doing the clean up and conversions on Final Cut Express HD Soundtrack.
1-"You Took Advantage of Me" performed by Carmen McRae
2-"Summertime Girls" performed by Y&T
3-"The Pleasure Seekers" performed by The System
4-"The Walls Come Down" performed by The Call
5-"I'm Falling" performed by Comsat Angels
6-"One Night Love Affair" performed by Bryan Adams
7-"All She Wants to Do Is Dance", performed by Don Henley
8-"Number One" performed by Chaz Jankel
9-"You're the Only Love" performed by Paul Hyde and the Payolas
10-"Standing in Line" performed by The Textones
11-"Everybody Wants to Rule the World" performed by Tears for Fears
The Soundtrack Covers (3)
The Artist Covers (11)
Lyrics Embeded for iPod / iTouch
*The only track missing and NOT available;
TONIO K - The Tough Do What?
This would have been track No. 2, if it were to be had.
NOTE:
If there is somebody, especially those who may know someone in music industry that can obtain this rare song, PLEASE by all means post it here, so I can amend it to the album.
Cheers! \ ( - _ - ) /

I'll get a few more of your Barry requests out, but nothing to the magnitude I just sent...well, maybe.
@ Southview
I'm handling these tracks like pieces of gold. Thanks for the nuggets!
@ Ruggo
Thanks for your precious gold nuggets as well!
I'm in heaven.
@ Colonel Saunders -
OK, here's two virtually unkonown Barry scores.

@ WriterDirectorCollector (or anyone else who can help)
The other day you mentioned Thief in your post. Not sure if you saw my response, but I too am a huge fan of that movie & soundtrack and would love to upgrade my copies to a higher bitrate if you have one!
Thanks...
Dear WriterDirectorCollector,
REAL GENIUS
Already in my hands those 11 tracks.
I obtained them from Torrent but with Variable Bit Rate (VBR).

Have a nice day.
