I had these sent to me years ago by a friend in a complete mixed up file of Spag West material, a lot of I think originated from your SWE collection, which is why I wanted the set so bad. I may be able to do a nice bit of good housekeeping on my files now..

Hello there!

Wonderful blog you have here.

Does anyone have the Oscar promo for the Lilo & Stitch score to post. I'm really looking for it.

Thanks in advance!

Love the Jazz in Primetime :) don't suppose anyone can find a cover to it? I've looked everywhere.

Also does anyone have the album HAMMOND BOND on verve, it's a reissue of an old Ingfried Hoffmann LP called From Twen With Love and has some groovy spy tunes on it :)

Thanks

Not 100% sure this hasn't been shared but not sure of the interest. But looking through the shelves,I remembered I had the 2 CD promo of Jerry Fielding Film Music, containing:

Straw Dogs
Chato's Land
The Nightcomers

If it hasn't been upped before and if anyone needs it, let me know.

@ mp - I would love having this set ripped at 320. These have been posted around blog's before, but never as a set and at variable bit rates - (mostly lower).

This would be an excellent post and a great contribution to anyone who has an interest in Jerry Fielding's music.

In short, yes, please.

bistis6 said...

@ Triryche78

I just checked SPACECAMP and the link and file both seem to be working fine. Plus there are about 15 more downloads this afternoon than there were this morning! Try again. Probably just too much traffic when you were there.

Any other ideas?

Thanks for any help!

I will repost that Arnold stuff either tonight or tomorrow morning if it's still needed!

I missed you all and will be making a pilgrimage to scoredaddy's Copland site.

There was a bit o' doggerel someone (maybe Lennie Bernstein) wrote to Copland on one of his grander birthdays: I'm not sure about the first line but the second is EXACTLY what was written --

"God said to Moses 'All noses are hoses --

Always an innovator of modern music, Philip Glass has managed to have a very lucrative career scoring motion pictures.

There was no real musical soundtrack in Universal’s 1931 Dracula because it was believed that, with sound being such a recent innovation in films, the audience would not accept hearing music in a scene if there was no explanation for it being there (e.g., the orchestra playing off camera when Dracula meets Mina at the theatre). So, in the late 90’s the studio suits, wanting to reissue the classic horror flick, approached Philip Glass to compose a score they could add to the film. The re-scoring has caused considerable controversy among critics and fans of both the film and the composer. But with this performance by the Kronos Quartet, it sure does become an interesting listen.

Here’s a 320kps MP3 version (covers and track list included). You be the judge.

Stelvio Cipriani "More Amorosa! Cipriani", @192:

PS. My flatmate wanted to know which floor he was on, so he could get off. Meh, elevator music, some people have no taste at all. When I told him it was lounge music, he said "right you are, and that's exactly where it's sending me... to sleep". Sigh. But you cool cats will no doubt enjoy it.

That's the last time I think, "Yeah, I can probably get away with just reading from the end of the thread, backwards...". ;) Also, thanks for FM.

@ isbum - How good are you?? Una Capella was indeed the missing track. I was lucky enough to snare a complete rip of that one, which I will be presenting shortly. So I did a quick substitute, since track length matched. Otherwise we'd still be waiting on it.

Isbum said...

@ filmpac - I've looked at the Torch Song and Smokey 3 several times recently. Didn't think anyone would want either.
I thought you and some other country boy put all the track's together back at nomwl1's place.
Wasn't it 6 tracks only?

No worry, i'll grab 'em for you next time I run across them.
I don't know about Bull though.

Isbum said...

I meant all the Smokey 3 tracks.

@ 3410 - You can read this backwards, it will make better sense. :)funny dude!

Maimone Digital said...

@Elias

That is probably my post of Coma. The album also has Westworld by Fred Karlan and The Carey Treatment by Roy Budd. I uploaded just the Goldsmith portion per request hence the omission of the other tracks.

Or another possibility is I messed it up. A strong possibility since I do this stuff late at night.

Let me know if you need any of it.

Maimone Digital said...

bistis6

Thanks for the effort on Spacecamp. Appreciate it.

filmpac said...

@ isbum - Ah yes, the Smokey 3 person. Well, you see, it turned out like this, I have 5 out of 6 tracks, and they did too, but they had the same 5 I did, so we couldn't even stitch one together. Dang short soundtrack, that's fer sure, but it is still MIA. Any help would be mucho appreciated cowboy:))

Don't make me upload the Bassey Sings Bond. I'll take a deafening silence to be a resounding YES! I gotta warn you, this rates highly on my "piss of the neighbours" meter.

Scoredaddy said...

Two of the British master's best symphonies.

George Lloyd, composer
Symphony No. 2
Symphony No. 9
BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, George Lloyd, conductor

REVIEW:
"The current considerable interest in the music of George Lloyd - reflected by the gramophone, aided by the BBC rather than the concert hall - again emphasizes the wish of ordinary music lovers to discover again communicative twentieth-century music, after repeatedly experiencing, without pleasure, some of the musical barbed wire which has been fashionable for too long. George Lloyd's musical language is traditional, but none the worse for that...His inner conflicts are without the underlying bitterness of Shostakovich, but there are conflicts in his music to be resolved, and in his relatively extrovert Second and Ninth Symphonies his invention is spirited and imaginative as the splendid recorded performances by the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra readily demonstrate." Good day everyone.
I thought I'd share this post, which to my knowledge hasn't been shared before.

It's from the film Der Bewegte Mann.
Also known as Maybe...Maybe Not.

What's really fun about this score is the songs by Max Raabe and The Palast Orchester.

Max Raabe is a German Cabaret singer who sings songs from the 20's and 30's backed by the Palast Orchester. They capture the true authentic sound of the 20's.

I'm sure it's not for all tastes, but I love it. :)

It's always a joy to find a new Conti score. The film bombed badly at the box office, but the score more than makes up for that. This album features high register trumpet specialist Maynard Ferguson and showcases his talents in three good disco funk cuts, best of which is Hot Nights, with some great guitar and Rhodes work backed up by a cool horn riff (that from blaxploitation.com).

evening everyone,

hope the ones who downloaded my last two posts of the Grindhouse soundtracks enjoyed them.

@filmpac - thanks for answering my question about industrial cocktail. i appreciate it.

i'm going to post a soundtrack to a controversial movie from 1999. it's kevin smith's "Dogma". encoded at 192. there's one song by alanis morissette and the rest is scored by Howard Shore. good stuff.

i'm going to post another kevin smith soundtrack in two parts (it's that big) later on. i just have to find two missing songs first. it was a incomplete torrent when i downloaded it. i have a lead on one of the missing songs but i'm not sure i'll be able to find the last missing one. but they're all there except that one. i'll let you guys know which ones i need if i can't find them and maybe someone can help me out and send it to me so that i can share a complete release which would be just great since most if not all torrents on the net are missing these tracks. anyway here's the link to dogma. enjoy!

here you go

bye now.

No, I didn't ask you about the twins...but I'm intrigued!

I was at the Chinese for most of '86, along with my dear friend "Sheriff Joe" the FSM board moderator. We still keep in touch. Besides the two of us, there were a few soundtrack collectors there at the time, a young guy named Sherman who loved THE TOWERING INFERNO (I got him into SPACECAMP), the operator whose name I can't remember (very nice guy), and a guy named Mark Silverman who was the son of producer Ron Silverman (KRULL, LIFEGUARD). As for WITNESS, I was still living and asst. manager-ing the Loew's Astor Plaza in NYC during its' release.

stubbins said...

constantino,

I try to keep things posted on a relatively limited basis: I just don't want things to wind up in too many places as there is a difference between a good use (sharing among friends who learn from each other's interests and passions) and general exploitation.

I'll restore those Rautavaara's for you and leave them up for ten days. If that isn't enough time, let me know -- or just let me know when you get to them!

By the way -- any request you make (or any request anyone here makes) is the opposite of a bother. (That is, unless bothers have suddenly become a good source of fulfillment -- you never know about all sorts of stuff in this world.)

Sometimes I am a little slow to respond due to my own lousy internal mechanics. This week it was due to a big fat cable outage on my block.

But if you ask for it and I have it... it'll get posted!

A sad anniversary.

"I'm finished here.
It was a blast nomwl1!!!!"

filmpac and tony also announced their farewell to nomwl1's great You Don't Have To Visit This Blog.

This post is NOT meant to open a discussion of the events that led up to or followed after.
That won't be allowed.

As I remove another post resulting from the actions of a few who wish this to continue, I have to wonder "why?"

You are shoveling coal into the belly of a train that is going nowhere.

Feel free to continue, I can't stop you, but it's draining the fun out of being your host.

If you don't like what I've said, that's fine. You don't have to visit this blog either.

@ Isbum - A fairly classy late 80s horror score, no masterpiece, but well worth a listen methinks. I see that a remake has been announced for 2009, also under the control of Wes Craven.

Horace Pinker: Yes. No more Mr. Nice Guy!

William Goldstein "Shocker" (1989), @192:
http://rapidshare.com/files/48438870/WG-Shocker.zip

Death by electric chair is no fun topic, but for me the definitive treatment of this was in "The Green Mile". And I still remember a telefilm I saw a long time ago, called "Kill Me If You Can", though that was by poison pellets, with an absolutely chilling performance by Alan Alda of MASH fame.

The Long Island Ripper said...

@voncheech - yep that's the one i have. i'll post my copy of the soundtrack on rapidshare and then share the link. fun dead (track #22) was i believe a secret track on the cd. at least that's what i recall reading somewhere. i'll be happy to help you out. also my copy is encoded @192 bitrate. great quality. i don't know if there's a score only cd available i was wondering that myself earlier today. but if you ever find it let me know i'd like a copy.

Darn! I found a copy of "Odds Against Tomorrow" (mono Lp) and while I'm cleaning it up, I decide to check Soundtrack Collector to see if it's ever been released on Cd, and it was! In 1991 on Sony something or other.

Mel, this is the one with Bill Evans on piano I was referring to.
It has Milt Jackson on vibraharp and Connie Kay on drums.

@ h2o- I was going to recommend this because it reminds me somewhat of the ECM recordings we discussed earlier.

The Cd would be so much better than this Lp. But, does anyone have it? Please share it if you do. I think it's something all the jazz lovers here would dig listening to.

Ah heck, I'll post this version for now and if somebody can post the Cd it will be no skin off my back.

Hello everyone,
does anyone know where I could find these soundtracks ?
Heaven's gate (David Mansfield)
Give my Regards to Broad Street (Paul McCartney)
Mosquito Coast (Maurice Jarre)

And does anyone know what is the title of the song by Stevie Wonder heard in the end titles of Jungle fever (I believe it's not in the soundtrack)

Thanks

Without further ado,

"The Odds Against Tomorrow" 1959 Lp @320
by John Lewis of the Modern Jazz Quartet

http://rapidshare.com/files/48487107/JL_OddsAgainstTomorrow.zip

* great liner notes & players in file.

@ mel & h2o - check this out.

@ filmpac - I had some strawberry pie and listened to "Anna: The Pleasure, the Torment". Couldn't figure out which was tastier.
Another fantastic post! The Main Theme is almost Quincy's "Ironside" as interpreted by Roy Budd.
The next to the last track is one of the most beautiful pieces I've ever heard Edda Dell'Orso perform.

***** Five Star Post!
Off to bed now, zeee ya!

Here's the end title theme from an unknown composer to the B-movie, Bikini Chain Gang. It's a cool alternate version of Peter Gunn.

Hey,
Great blog. I've got a request I've been looking for for quite some time, maybe someone out there can help - looking for the score to 'The Woman in Black" movie, not musical, by Rachel Portman.
I'm new to the blog scene, and am loving it.
Thanks.

Filmpac, I only want the score, not the interviews, in "Deadly Friend-The Score". Thank you very much.

Somebody has the third compilation of William Allwyn, that includes the "Swiss Family Robinson" score?

Thank you very much Filmpac

@ isbum

That was my deletion querying the presence of Bill Evans on Odds Against Tomorrow - before I saw your subsequent comment substituting John Lewis.

Thanks for posting it!

@3410
Merci l'ami, for the AA compilation,
I've got all the comps you mentionned but never pick the tracks from AA to make a new one, excellent idea, it flows so good !
Tell me if you're interested in "La Terrificante Notte Del Demonio", or perhaps the original uploader is here and want to share it himself ?

@filmpac and double-o-soul, many thanks, go on with italian treasures.

@Isbum, you are in a Piccioni mood,
i can post, if you need them, "C'era una volta", "La Donna Che Venne Del Mare" and "Cronaca Di Una Morte Annunciata" (all of them in lossless format, or in mp3 indeed)

constantino,

That Hovhaness with a different zip program, a different uploader and, hopefully, a different result.

(it contains some sfx but nice to listen to)

@ mel - Always like to know who's deleted posts I'm deleting. ;)

After Elmer Bernstein's "Man with the Golden Arm" I am very surprised at how subtle this score is. Big brass arrangements were about to take over when it came to dramatic scoreing, but not here.
This is seething, slow burn jazz.
Hope you dig it Mel.

Hopefully, someone has the stereo Cd version.

Anyone has this score of Eric Serra : Leon (A.K.A professional) complete 2 cds.
Thanks.

@ segroeg - Can you imagine living in Piero Piccioni's mind? What a wonderfully happy man he must have been. Please post whatever you would like to share with us segroeg.

Not sure of the source, but they appear to be original tracks, and the sound quality is good.

Nice stuff.

@isbum -- Thanks for the Piccioni's. I've only had a few of his cds, now I'm getting hooked :)

Also, anyone out willing to share The Hired Hand - Bruce Langhorne?

@ruggo --Congratulations friend :)

Hi scorefun,

many thanks for the Limelight. I have now all Oscar winning scores since 1934 except 4 scores.

Isbum said...

@ constantino - That's nothing really to worry over. Look at how I go on about music here.
Kidding, I was going to say "get a room." but you and chimezatmidnight obviously need a concert hall.;)
Have a safe trip and we'll see you after the 22nd.
