@ carrasco - A favorite that came from Score Baby.

"Blazing Magnum"
by Armando Trovaioli

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=ZXJVTBXK

@ segroeg - filmpac may be in the outback, perhaps you could post the polizia disc for me?

@ scoredaddy, quinlan - Do either of you have anything by jazz artist Bennie Maupin?
A compilation posted here recently had a track titled "Water Torture" on it that has me wanting to hear more from him.

Nice little bootleg movie rip thingy I've not seen posted before. All credit and thanks to the original ripper, whomever he/she may be. WARNING: Contains some dialogue and sound effects...

John Barry "Seance On A Wet Afternoon" (1964), movie rip @320:
http://rapidshare.com/files/64509168/JB-Seance.zip

@ isbum - Sorry, but I don't have the Cinevox collection (as yet, hoping segroeg has all of these), but I have managed to throw a lasoo on a Western Quartet. Just need some tagging and listening time.

Isbum said...

@ filmpac - Excellent find! Like I mentioned, the sound clips were incredible. Fellow Piccioni lover, quidtum, will be thrilled with this too.

Requests:

"Disco Undead: 70's Horror Movie Themes Re-Interpreted"

"Puppet Jazz: Jazz,Funk,Soul Instrumentals from West Germany"

"DJ Deeno Presents: Action Passing"

"Pop Instrumental De France"
by Laurent Petitgirard

Please share these if you have them. Thanks in advance for checking your collections (and hard drives).

Isbum said...

@ janus2810 - A very belated thanks to you for dropping an incredible 21 Francois De Roubaix posts in the month of June.
Now that I have sorted the Italian's out, it has been a wonderful two days spent listening to this master composer!
Thank you Janus!

filmpac said...

@ isbum - Mate, you've stumped me totally on those last four requests. So I'll second all of them, espcially the Disco Undead... what a great Halloween Treat that would make:)

Isbum said...

@ filmpac - I see. Well, for the most part, they are library records.
However, Laurent Petitgirard went on to become a film composer of note.
Just not "of note" on this blog. ;)

Disco Undead does sound cool though.

@ Any Lai fans, or anyone who cares, posted a couple more Lai OST's @ Tony's Love of Lai Blog. JP

@ Isbum Glad to hear you liked the de Roubaix mate! He's one of my favourites, very different from so many of the other European composers

Isbum said...

@ janus2810 - Like it!? I'm soaking in this wonderful music!
I have dropped Watson a line inquiring about Roubaix's "Mort D'un Guide", perhaps you may have the Barklay Lp of this?

@ Segroeg
Many Thanks for Trovaioli and Angelis bros.
I hope "Spencer & Hill" too.

@ Isbum

I didn't know that Mort D'un Guide existed as an LP, I thought I had all the de Roubaix material you could get, anyone with this LP PLEASE up it, I don't even know how I would begin to thank you! JP

Isbum said...

In case anyone is curious about the score janus2810 and I are talking about, here's the Theme from
"Mort D'un Guide"
by Francois De Roubaix.

http://rapidshare.com/files/65242374/FDR_MortD_unGuideTheme.zip

It begins in a very calm way, but by the end it becomes something very wild.
According to SC, an Lp was released in France, on Barclay in 1975.

Isbum said...

I was hunting around for some horror film score that hasn't been posted a hundred times, when I ran into this clown with a gun.
Great score done with a small group of musicians who know a thing or two about jazz. More "Klute" than "Pelham 1-2-3", and stays absolutely dead serious in handling the whole clown with a gun subject matter.

@ isbum and janus2810
I also have not heared about LP release of "Mort D'un Guide".
In 1979 LES PLUS BELLES MUSIQUES DE FRANCOIS DE ROUBAIX VOL.3 (LP) was released from Barclay France. It inclueds 1 track only.
EMI ODEON 2CD is same above.
And In 2006 LE MONDE ELECTRONIQUE DE FRANCOIS DE ROUBAIX VOL.II was. This CD includes 5 tracks.
These 6 tracks are all of "Mort D'un Guide", I think.

Need more 5?

Isbum said...

@ H2o - The Lp listed at Soundtrack Collector site has no picture or tracklist. It would be listed as an Ep if it were only six tracks, or am I just guessing?

H2O said...

@ isbum
At Soundtrack Collector LP number is Barclay 900 577.
It is LES PLUS BELLES MUSIQUES DE FRANCOIS DE ROUBAIX VOL.3.

Isbum said...

@ h2o - Good tip my friend, a little follow-the-electronic-Roubaix led to a blog that has Volume 1 & 2!

Isbum said...

@ h20 - Now I see your comment.
Leave it to you to one-up Charlie Chan. Nice work Detective H2o! ;)

If the Lp had a release date posted it would have made that easier.

@ segroeg - I truely appreciate that you thought of me for this delightful music. "Funerailles Pop" is a fantastic track.
A bit of research led me "Le Gorille Vous Salu Bier" and the collection titled "Du Rififi au Cine".
I would be very interested in these titles.

georges said...

About"Le gorille vous salue bien",the music recorded on CD is not the main title and theme we all remember and are looking for;that theme only exists on a french EP.

Isbum said...

@ georges - Are you referring to Michel Magne's score Ep for "Le Gorille a Mordu L'Archeveque"?
Released '58 and '62, were these "Gorille" films both based on spy novels?
The following is the track from the Lino Ventura Cd,
"Generique" from "Le Gorille Vous Salue Bien".

@ quinlan

It'd be nice if you could upload the 9-track version of "The Three Caballeros". That movie has wonderful music, and it'd be interesting to hear it out of the film's context. But please take your time. I wouldn't want to ruin your weekend by asking you to upload it immediately. =)

@ all

Speaking of which, how has everyone's weekend been so far? For me it's been rather busy because of a couple of papers I need to write for my English class, but I hope the rest of you are having a good time. =)

I guessed you would like "Funerailles Pop (Jacques Loussier)"

More info, tracklisting and credits for "Cinema Audiard" here :

I've got four volumes of "Du rififi au ciné" (french cop movies) and will post it soon.

"Le Gorille vous salue bien" soundtrack is from Jean Leccia, great forgotten composer.
Unfortunately, i don't have much material of him. Here's a three tracks comp. from a famous french comedy TV show of the late 60's, with pleasing wordless vocals "Les Saintes Chéries"

Not at all sure if this has been shared before (there was a time I didn't pay a whole lot of attention to Italian stuff, how that has changed). But I just got this on p2p, and man oh man does it rock. Review at Dusty Groove, the download below. Get ready to rumble...

Isbum said...

@ janus2810 - That would be so great of you! I am not familiar with composer Franco Campanino, but 1977 was a vintage year for police thrillers.
Thank you for Vol.3, like you said, listening to Roubaix is a vacation from the ordinary.

@ ennioman - I hope that in some small way, we can see you through this difficult time. Feel free to vent here anytime. Here's wishing for better times ahead my friend.

Isbum said...

@ filmpac _ You said it brother. I am way behind on listening to all the great music here.
About Piccioni's Western Quartet: what a baffling composer, really! Some of the tracks sound almost like cop thrillers more than westerns.
And you know that's not a bad thing for me at all. :) Now, pass the catch-up, please? ;)

Perhaps someone could let me know if they have been posted before?

Tick...Tick...Tick..

Prince Of The City
Night Of The Iguana
W.W. And The Dixie Dancekings
Watermelon Man

There is more, but this is all I could get to today :)

Isbum said...

@ tony - I did rip's of the following,
Lucky Lady
Prince of the City
W.W.& the Dixie Dancekings
but as most here know, their's always room for improvement on my rips.

rocket from mars did Watermelon Man
7 Black Notes did Tick...Tick...Tick
filmpac got me a rip of Night of the Iguana but I'm not sure if it was in stereo.

7 and rocket rip at lower bit rates
and that's not meant as criticism, I love those guys, just saying it to you Tony in case you wish to post them on I Love My Turntable.

@ 3410 - Dang, how did I miss reza's posting? Filmpac sighs.

Isbum said...

@ tony - Do you happen to have
"The Shop on Main Street" by Zdenek Liska? (1965 on Mainstream Records)

Speaking of Mainstream, did we have a conversation about the soundtrack compilation that had the drawing on the cover of a guy holding a gun?
It has tracks from "Stagecoach" and "The 10th Victim" on it.

Also, Attax did a rip of Pino Donaggio's "Home Movies" long ago that never played right for me.
See, it took me over a year to finally complain. ;)

Isbum said...

@ 3410 - Boy! I had to go back a ways to figure out what you meant by "Electronic world".
Either you liked StefanfromParis blog or that I dug into electronic Roubaix big time.
Look. I'm still a little confused.;)

tony said...

@isbum - Thank you for letting me know. I just can't keep track of all the wonderful posts!

As far as better rips, well, I can't say mine would be an improvement. So unless someone has a request, I will let the others ride, so to speak.

@filmpac - Can't thank you enough my friend for more Lai. It's friends like you, isbum, rocket, janus and others who've made my Lai blog a much better place :)

I do have a copy, but I've never transfered it, nor have I seen it elsewhere, so I certainly would appreciate an upload :)

Isbum said...

@ thxjay - Hurry up my man, I'd love hearing that Persuader's! Good you dropped by, I'm wondering if you might make a better cover for the following post.

It's downright gloomy here in L.A. and Halloween nears, so here's to both moods.

"House of Dark Shadows" 1970 Cd@320
by Robert Cobert

http://rapidshare.com/files/65621896/RC_HouseOfDarkShadows.zip

"Night of Dark Shadows" 1971 Cd@320
by Robert Cobert

http://rapidshare.com/files/65628974/RC_NightOfDarkShadows.zip

Thinking back on it, House of Dark Shadows was the most violent movie I had seen up to that age. Sure, I had seen plenty of Hammer violence, but this was still quite a shocker to me. After seeing Barnabus beat Willie half to death, and Dr. Stokes getting double barreled in the chest, it was the slow pull of the crossbow arrow out of Willie's back in the end that got me shivering. Robert Cobert's music literally sounds like it was recorded in a mausoleum.

Drop me a line thxjay, if you have some time. I put jpgs of each movies poster in the files.

Sorry to be so chatty, but I'm going to drop this score and link again because I figured out what it is that I love about it.

"Vulgar" by Ryan Shore

http://rapidshare.com/files/65249339/RS_Vulgar.zip

Young Ryan here happened to nail Quincy Jones style amazingly well.
Somewhere between Quincy's "The Deadly Affair" and "The Hot Rock" is where Shore comes in on this.
It's what I love about jazz in film scores, that jazz can cover the spectrum from bouncy, light, and romantic to dark, sinister, and downright repulsive.

Here's the 1973 soundtrack for H.B. Barnum's 'Five on the Black Hand Side':

http://www.zshare.net/download/45002584a9a4e0/

It's mostly very short 1 to 2 minute tracks. I can understand why only the title song was released on 45 when the movie came out. But, it's a good soundtrack for all you into blaxploitation funk. It's got couple soul numbers, some jazz, some jazz-funk and of course plenty of 70's Clavinet & Wah-guitar funk.

I thought the original cover was kinda weak, so I made a better one. Both covers are packaged with the rest of the files so you can choose. Enjoy.

Also looking for:

I'll see what I can do. Some fascinating stuff here, amongst the cheese; no doubt. Looking forward to discovering some rare versions. So far I've spotted that 4/05, Morricone's "Un genio, due compari, un pollo", seems to be the (quite different) German single version, which is not on any of the CD versions of that soundtrack.

I saw many of these films as a child and never since. It's amazing how much of the music I remember. "Grau, Grau, Grau" has laid unaccessed in my brain for 30 years. :)

I'm not sure if this was the one you were after, it's a bootleg taken from the original tracks with some effects etc, @128k, don't remember where it came from.
I'll probably clean up the tags and make a cover for it, then post it on my site but for those in a hurry here it is as I got it :)

@ rocket from mars - Your Mainstream is terrific and really rare.
Our friend with the Goldsmith Song Collection should grab this for the song from "Stagecoach".

The one I am after has blue guy drawn as if your looking up at him from the floor. The background is a pale pink or salmon color. I am pretty sure
"Slaughter on 10th Avenue" is another title listed on the cover.

And another thing... I don't know if this was included in the Keith Mansfield strand that appeared here a while back (I didn't parake at the time) but here's the them used for the UK kids tv programmes from the late 60's "Freewheelers". The track was originally called "Teenage Carnival". Its a goody.

Almost all of the tracks are tagged in German, a language i don't understand.

Just popping up to make a couple of points of interest:

Firstly, SHIRLEYS WORLD (from the shortlived 1971 ITC series starring Shirley McClaine) was actually a Laurie Johnson composition, not Ron Grainer. If you do a search on amazon.co.uk, a 3 CD set of Johnson tunes has just come out and the first CD contains 70 minutes of original scores from THE AVENGERS!

Secondly - wow! I remember FREEWHEELERS vividly! Most amusingly, that piece also gets used a lot in Color Climax blue movies that were done in the 70's and 80's (actually a lot of KPM library stuff found it's way into hardcore.....)

;-)

Just had a listen to your Vulgar score, and must say I found it enjoyable. I was intrigued enough to do a little research on Ryan Shore, turns out he is the nephew of composer Howard Shore, who first made a name for himself with some very nice low-key horror scores for director David Cronenberg. Apart from some student films, Vulgar was his first feature score, young Ryan might just be a composer to watch out for. Thanks for sharing it!

For John Barry completists here are a few rarities which may have eluded some of you.

First up are a couple of Alan Haven tracks, a souped up version of the theme to "Seance on a Wet Afternoon" (there's my nod to Halloween folks), then there's a version of "The Knack that didn't appear on the soundtrack.

http://rapidshare.com/files/66042857/The_Knack___single_by_Alan_Haven_-_not_from_OST_.mp3

Then a couple of B-Sides, but both solid gold grade-A Barry and if you've not heard them, you're in for a treat.

And finally, a track by Shirley Bassey for one of her early seventies United Artists LP's, called "Going, Going Gone". Enjoy!

@ isbum - Hey man, look what I found! Just in time for Halloween Treats, but posted here because it seems to be out of print.

"Disco Undead was a UK-only release on Device Recordings out of Manchester (the label appears to have since gone under, as its website is no longer active). The concept: reinterpretations of classic horror movie themes by modern producers. It came out in 2004, but it's basically an Italo disco compilation (with authentic-sounding production), and the songs themselves are bonafied classics."

IMHO more electronica than disco, but this is a must-have for your Halloween party...

@ Scoreman: i don't know where you've heard good things about the sound quality of the Spartacus tsunami release, but it's really not true! I've got the cd, and the sound is awful, with echoes and distortions. It worth only because the tracks here are not on the lp, but that's all. If you whant to know more about the poor sound quality, have a quick search of the lp version, and the difference between the 33 rpm and the cd (amazon.com's comments could give you a good idea)... The "quality" of the tusnami release is the same. :(
If you've got the 3cd boot of Spartacus, you've got the best. But if you whant the worst, i'll try to upload the tsunami one during the next week (wma @ 192, ripped from cd)... :p

http://rapidshare.com/files/66460757/11_-_vision_on.mp3

http://rapidshare.com/files/66460759/TV_Themes_-_I_Spy.mp3

A few notes, I opted for the end titles to "Joe 90" as I always preferred the orchestration to the end titles than the more well known opening titles. The "I Spy" here is a VHS rip including the syncopated gunshots which again I always thought were absolutely integral. The Banacek theme is off the tv too, as is Rhoda and Mary Tyler Moore. The Vision On theme is NOT the usual Gallery theme that crops up.

@ jersey devil - No biggie. It get's included in the monthly link files over here.

@ carrasco - "La Banda Del Gobbo" is a little too new so, get it quick.
It vanishes tonight along with the Haloween Treats.

@ all - I have discovered many CAM releases are available for download from "itunes". Are their issues surrounding the bit rates on these?
I would like opinions from you on these before I put some money towards buying any.

filmpac said...

@ isbum - Originally iTunes was encoded @128 bitrate, to result in a smaller file size, to fit more tunes onto an iPod. I believe they now also offer a 256 bitrate option, so check before you buy anything. IMHO, the bottom line is probably to avoid, unless it is an iTunes exclusive (which really sucks).

filmpac said...

@ steve - Okay, here's the deal on how to post a single file containing all your TV themes.

(1) Copy all the files you want to upload into one single folder.
(2) Zip that folder up so it becomes one file (either .zip or .rar). You must already have such a program in order to unzip what you download here. The one I use is called UltimateZip, it's freeware and handles about 30 different archive file formats. Google it to download.
(3) Upload the zip file via rapidshare, or whatever other service you prefer.
(4) Tell us the link here.

Hope that helps!

Isbum said...
