@ goblinscore - I see bistis6 has already hooked you up with the song, but I do have an unofficial mini soundtrack of Mannequin, which never got an official release. Contains 4 songs and 3 short score tracks by...

Sylvester Levay & Various "Mannequin" (1987), @320:
http://rapidshare.com/files/122035071/SL-Mannequin.zip

Incredibly Mannequin even got a sequel, minus Kim Cattrall, who of course went on to fame and fortune in "Sex And The City". Andrew McCarthy disappeared into television obscurity. Gotta love the 80s, hey.

@ paskalya - When posting links from Franklynot to other blogs, please include the blog it came from, the original ripper (if known), and the original uploader.

Frankly, I am not at all pleased by your action in just providing the link to Jack Ashford "Blackjack" to another blog, with no further details as to where it originated. It makes me far less likely to provide any further requests you may have. And I do have others to provide.

Generally speaking, I am perfectly happy for my uploads to be shared with other blogs. And in this case would have done so myself, had I known. But it is considered a common courtesy to ask first, if unsure. And always to at least credit the source.

Thank you for your understanding.

Give me a chance and I'll rip the CD again for you. I've said it before but I'll keep saying it, it is one classic film and has a great atmospheric score. In fact the score was the thing that satyed with me after seeing it on late night TV many years ago, I was over the moon when they released the wonderful special edition dvd in a cool metal case :)

I have a soft spot for post-apocalyptic flicks and it's one I go back to again and again. The score is a big part of that and the rendition of Auld Lang Syne by the last three people left on earth.

Thanks a million.

I need a bit of help passing this info along. I tried to leave it on his site but couldn't log in. He either gave me the wrong password or simply forgot it.

To get to the point, Verona/Boynotorious was in a serious accident 10 days ago while on business in Hawaii. He was surfing in his off time and tried to pull a trick in the wrong spot. As a result he got tossed and suffered injuries to his head as well as several broken bones.

I'd like to give you more info at this time. I was supposed to leave this message elsewhere and don't know what he wants public and what he doesn't. I feel better playing it safe. He is getting better daily and will no doubt contact all the appropriate parties in regards to this matter as soon as he can.

Please pass this info to someone that can post this on his board. I can be reached at his private e-mail and am overseeing his day to day functions till he can resume them himself.

I hope that I posted this is in the right place?

I'm Really make a mich-mash whit the languages since in Belgium we must know 4 languages French, Netherlander, English, German and that's not really easy But I’m doing my best in the four. Well I hope so.

I'm very happy to be here in this Blog from Isbum and Filmpac, I’m just like very much Franklynot and Crime Lounge from THXJay and for me that's all.

All the peoples here are charming, and never laugh from my poor English, I appreciate that very much. O.K that's All next time it's will be with a contribution ( Link )But I must first make it. :-)

Does anyone know how to conver ogg files to wavs or wmas?

I noticed when I downloaded Samson and the Miklos Rosza, that they were in ogg files form. I really need some help on this.....

Jean said...

@ Honored general I will try to help you in English , here you will find a link to download the OGG Plugin or codec

http://www.xiph.org/dshow/

Just download them and afther you extract them in the Program Files/ windows media player/ Plugins/ and where they are extract you take away your zip and keep it someware . You are ready to listen the sound in your Windows media player or other reader , Only extract in the Plugins directory .

OGG in one of the finest pluggins to have a very good sound much better than MP³ but more time to encoded.

I hope this will help you.

Regards.

Well, I can read a litle french, but cannot write. The language in my country-Brazil-is portuguese, but everyone here learn at least a little english or french; the spanish is easy for us; by the way, your english is charming!
If you like brazilian music(including soundtracks), let me know.
I will wait for the Sardes; I have only 3 of your list.

Au revoir!

Does anyone have the western song WACO, vocal by Lorne Greene ?

It was once on a Greene western sampler on Razor & Tie, but I missed that.

I'm searching that song for years now...

"A solemn lonely figure moving up the dusty street,
a solitary target for the fate he was to meet."

Now that's a western lyric if there ever was one !

One for all you lovers of classic film noir (and who isn't). Barbara Stanwyck and Van Heflin steam up the screen in...

Miklos Rozsa "The Strange Love Of Martha Ivers" (1946), @224:
http://rapidshare.com/files/123674786/MR-MarthaIvers.zip

WARNING: Not my rip, so thanks to whoever. Ripped directly from the movie, comes with dialogue and sound effects, but this is the only way you're going to hear the music. Unless someone has the LP of "A Double Life", according to Soundtrack Collector something exists on there. Anyone?

@ jean - More amazing shares, can't thank you enough from all us Franklynutters.

@ amadeues - Sergeant York? Awesome share, thank you very much!

@ breton girl - Many thanks for the you-know-what. It's very nice to hear, I could wish for a bitter bitrate but beggars can't be choosers. Merci, mon cheri:)

Jean said...

And before I’m going to sleep another very rare one the 1955 Miklos Rozsa Score restored in 1999from the film “The King’s Thief” and of course Out of print .

Enjoy.

And now for something completely different. The little seen, and even less heard...

Ralph Burns "Lenny" (1974), @192:
http://rapidshare.com/files/123697144/OST-Lenny.zip

I could pimp this one in a few different shops. For the "Golden Age Of Hollywood", not technically a musical and too late to qualify for golden age, but would suit your shop. For the "Jazz Speakeasy", a delightful jazz underscore. For Rocket's "Vinyl Adventures", something comedy oriented.

WARNING: Contains dialogue that may offend some people, as Dustin Hoffman nails the character of controversial comedian Lenny Bruce.

I apreciated very much the Sarde and the Jarre you shared!

I suppose I should point out how n00b I've been. Apparently I haven't been receiving any emails when someone has posted, and just thought that the blog got rather slow. It had been a while and I thought I'd stop by again and see if that were the case, and I was happy to see that there had been hundreds of posts and things were alive and kickin'

Sorry if I haven't been active, I've just been stupid and thought no one was here...lol. Anyway, I'm going to spend the next day or so catching up reading posts, but thought I'd share a few new/old wants that I was hoping someone could help with (thanks in advance if anyone's posted them):

1. Polly original soundtrack - Joel McNeely

2. Gepetto original soundtrack

3. Miracle at Midnight original soundtrack

Opening theme songs from the following films (I don't know if they were ever avaialable or if I would have to rip them.....in which case I have no clue how 0_o):

Bon Voyage
Freaky Friday
The Barefoot Executive
The Apple Dumpling Gang
Midnight Madness

and any songs from The Devil and Max Devlin.

Thanks again everyone for making this the best place to talk about music on the web! I seriously feel pretty lucky that you all include me here :)
