Thanks for the response to Prospero in my absence. But what happened to the hook?
BTW you're welcome for the MITCHELL. I'll see if I can get the guy who gave it to me (not a blogger) to send me the artwork. I've been meaning to ask him for some time, so this is a good reminder.
You're welcome. As RAGTIME was one of my very early efforts at ripping and cleaning up an LP (using Cool Edit), I hope you're not too disappointed in the resulting sound quality. It sounded OK to me at the time.
All this talk of repossessing reminds me of a friend who borrowed a few cassette tapes of mine and then took them to New York ... by "accident". For nearly two years he kept promising to mail them back to me.
I got an inheritance from my Grandmother and decided to see some cities I had friends in, and one of them was New York.
When I arrived and called my friend, he said he'd moved to Boston because he had a job offer. I took the train to Boston and stayed with him a couple of days while he showed me the city.
In his room I found a case with my cassettes and "saved" him the postage. ;)
Have you ever had to physically go and repossess something belonging to you from a friend?
@Isbum It's even more fun when the friend argues with you that it's actually . Then I opened the book to the inside copyright page and showed him my name in my handwriting. The look on his face was priceless!
Glad to see you're not wrapped up in yellow tape anymore. Missed you! Glad you're safe, BTW. Thanks for sharing your involvement in current events in LA.

I'd like to pose a puzzlement that's been bugging me for years. I'm hoping that someone in the group will be able to put me out of my misery. Around 1988, which is when it was released, I bought a CD called 20 FAMOUS WAR MOVIE THEMES. It was done in Holland on a label called Heartbeat. The front cover has a scene from A Bridge Too Far. It has most of the usual war movie tracks but most of the performances were really ordinary.
The mystery is this. Track 6 is listed as The Battle of Britain (R. Goodwin), but it is certainly not from The Battle of Britain. In fact, it's not a piece of music I recognised at all. I asked everyone I knew, including people who'd been collecting film music longer than me and had collections that dwarfed mine. No-one to this day has been able to tell me what that music is.
It's a happy, jaunty little march, in Goodwin's best light comedic style, with a great string centre section. In fact it's so much like Goodwin that I think it probably is by him and that when the guy compiling the CD reached for the Goodwin pile for TBOB he picked this up by mistake.
This quickly became my favourite track on the whole CD, but after more than 10 years I STILL don't know what the hell it is!
If anyone can identify this I will be eternally grateful - and believe me, for a Count "eternally" is a loooong time.
@ Count Istivan - I figured out what "Anna" you meant. The house I'm at is connected with wireless and my desktop needs a card to become compatible. I'll download it once I get my computer working.
Sorry, I overlooked your previous email, about the music. I don’t think it’s a war movie at all, unless it’s a comedy. I always thought it had a sound somewhat similar to some of his early, lighter stuff, like Swinging Sweetheart or The Early Bird.
It will probably turn out to be someone totally improbable, like Malcolm Arnold letting himself go for something like the St Trinian’s movies he scored, or The Captain’s Paradise.
Anyway, it’s 4 a.m. here now, which means it’s been my birthday for 4 hours. I have a big-ish day ahead today so I gotta get some sleep. I’ll check in again in a few hours to see if anyone has cracked the case.
@Count Istvan-- Felicitations upon the occasion of your natal anniversary. And a few thousand more, should you so desire them. (Yes, a looooooong time, indeed.) And no, sorry, I've also come up empty for your mysterious tune. —The Countess

You're welcome and thank you too. I forgot to mention, although you would have worked it out by now, that it was the EAS version.

Many thanks for the Good Wishes. It's not the exorcisms I mind so much as screwing my head back around the right way. It's no wonder I don't know whether I'm coming or going...
I came across a link you posted in the European forum (I really gotta look in there more often) for Great Trumpet for Great Films by Nini Rosso. Even though the film would hardly qualify as "great", by any chance does the album have The Legion's Last Patrol, aka Marcia o Crepa (March or Die)? From memory I don't think he was credited as the soloist in the film, but he had a big hit with a cover version backed by Ken Thorne and his Orchestra.
@ Count Istvan - You got me with that one. :) Interesting propodition though. Ken Thorne writes and arranges with a leaning towards the horns. Particularly in his early efforts like "Help", "The Magic Christian" and the fat, in your ear stuff for "Inspector Clouseau".
What the heck! I'll just download it anyway. Then I can tell you if it's there or not. Given that Nini didn't do all that much for/in films, and given that the cover version of LLP/MOC got to (I think) Number 4 in the charts in England, the odds are good that it has to be there.
Ken Thorne didn't actually write the music for the film. It was all Angelo Lavagnino - even though I've seen Rosso credited (incorrectly, I believe) with composing the Concerto Disparato, as the trumpet theme later became known.
I'd love to see the film again, but it seems to have disappeared.
@ Isbum I'm sure I will. In fact I'll let you know in about 20 minutes... if I don't fall asleep at the keyboard first. Just in case I do, thanks for the share.
Hi everybody-- a few days ago a link for Bernstein's sci-fi masterwork Slipstream was posted on FFS, and I downloaded it assuming it would be the same almost unlistenably muffled version I've found before on the Net. Just got around to listening, and it is actually an improvement. There's actual treble information to be heard! Sound is still bad for sure, with plenty of cassette-sounding distortion on the loud moments and volume instability, but this is a far more listenable version of this amazing score than what I've found before. Again, this link is from FFS, hail to the original poster:

I have a download of the Soundstage version of Dimitri Tiomkin's "Giant". However, the cover art poses a question. It says "The Original Film Score, First Release of Volume Two."
Check the listing at Soundtrack Collector, under Bootlegs:
Re the Soundstage "Volume 2" of GIANT, I presume you don't have the back cover, which has the following notes (with my corrections):
"For James Dean's last film Dimitri Tiomkin wrote one of his most stirring and powerful scores. Unfortunately, the time limitation for record albums at that time was around 40 minutes. That album was released by Capitol Records and is currently available on compact disc and should be a cornerstone of every soundtrack library. Tiomkin had chosen additional selections for a possible Volume Two, but Capitol rejected the idea. This CD includes those selections while offering additional music that was deleted from the film or rejected and replaced with other music. None of this music duplicates anything on the Capitol album and should be listened to in conjunction with Volume One."
Volume One therefore being the Capitol album, even though it was not officially released as such. I believe a similar thing happened with The Alamo. Apparently, so I've heard, that was originally meant to be a 2-LP set.
You're welcome! I can relate to that very well myself. For years after I got my first computer (HD 130 MB!!!) I wouldn't read the instructions or Help files. My excuse was always that I couldn't understand them. After I got to the point where I could understand them (well... mostly) I refused to read them on the grounds that it was cheating... taking the easy way... as in...
When all else fails, read the instructions.
So I still don't know what the heck an avatar is (apart from a movie). One of these days I guess I'll have to do an Alex North (bite the bullet) and look it up.

@Isbum -- I had the same problem. Had to post the comment 3 times, and it didn't show for half an hour. Glitchy, and it's not even a full moon. @Count Istvan We've really got to quit meeting like this! But THE BUCCANEERS is something I haven't heard it YEARS, and it's about to be, well, music to my ears. Thanks for your excellent share.
As someone who spent $100 for a new copy of the o.p. "True Confessions" CD, I accede to Varese Sarabande's request--but under gentle protest. Maybe they can offer CD-R copies at a special rate to FranklyYes visitors. I love Delerue but $100 is a lot of money in these hard times.
I've been away from this blog for a while and wondered if the "Viva Zapata" remake has been posted (that is, if it's not a Varese Sarabande release). Was there an original? Also, was there a soundtrack for Olivier Assayas' incredible "Summer Hours?" Last, in honor of Criterion's reissue of "The Fugitive Kind," can somone make a fresh post of that film's marvelous Kenyon Hopkins' score? I just saw "Lilith" and wondered if Hopkin's luscious music for that film has been posted? Why--tell me why--is Hopkins so underappreciated? He deserves a retrospective of some sort, no? Or, knowing my luck, you guys just finished with one. If so, my apologies.
@David Federman - The Vintage Vinyl shop has a number of Kenyon Hopkins LP rips. Go to the FranklyYes main page and scroll down and click on the VINTAGE VINYL sign. Choose Hopkins from the composer list on the right side of the page. Two of the titles need to be re-upped but all the other links work. I will upload the two with dead links tonight or tomorrow. Be sure to check the comment section at Vintage Vinyl to find re-up links.
Thanks to all for your well wishes. Finally I have been diagnosed with Guillain-Barre Syndrome. My aim isn't to discuss my personal problems here, but it would never heart to know more a out your health.
I am hoping that I can get to regain the control of my arms and legs again. Oh by the way I watched in my hospital room tonight "Juggernaut" from 1974. So isbum, I kept thinking about you a lot during the film, because David Hemmings had one of the leading parts.. Hopefully should be able to embrace you all, in a not too distant future again...
My best wishes too for a speedy and hopefully complete recovery. Please take care and please try to keep us informed of your progress. Our thoughts and hopes are with you.
read your link. We all hate it when faced with something completely out of control. It leaves us helpless. When faced with something long-termed I guess we all have phases of despare and depression too, which I guess is normal, but: I keep my fingers crossed for you that you always find your way back to hope and to having an aim that's worth working for. You're in our thoughts.
GSW, Thank you for your help. Ironically, "The Fugitive Kind" is one of the titles that must be re-upped. But otherwise the Vintage Vinyl section proved a mother lode. Listening to the many soundtracks Mr. Hopkins wrote, I can see (or hear) where he trod certain grounds again and again. Nevertheless, at his best, he's one of the more (if not most) memorable film composers of the time. If memory serves, "The Fugitive Kind" may be his supreme score. The honor of writing music for Tennessee Williams and Sidney Lumet compelled magnificent music from him.
@ riddim1903 - Exactly what Trident said. Sorry for my delayed reaction, my mother's best friend and mom #2 (for me) passed away unexpectedly on the 20th, and I tend to curl-up emotionally in times like this.
Know that we will all be rooting for a turnaround in your health and that this disease will be manageable with proper treatment.
Also know that your friends are here anytime you need to talk about what is going on. Never feel that you are burdening me or anyone else here.
At this blog it's friend's first. Music is just what brought us all together.
In the liner notes of the new Mad Max CD set, James Fitzpatrick notes that licensing the Tina songs were too expensive for the set.
So after a little digging through my own collection and the internet, I present what I call the Thunderdome EP. It includes the original versions of We Don't Need Another Hero and One of the Living, plus remixes and instrumentals from 1985. Think of it as the third disc of the Tadlow set.
They are of varying quality (the originals are from a @320 rip of the previous CD, and the remixes are from vinyl), so if anyone's got better quality versions, please share. Enjoy!
Does anyone want Goldenberg's Night Gallery pilot movie score? I did a pretty good edit job taking the cues from the actual DVD. If no one wants a just-slightly "dirty" soundtrack for a never-released score, I will happily upload. For my money, it's one of the best scores of its decade, and I don't say that lightly.

NIGHT GALLERY Pilot Movie by Billy Goldenberg http://drop.io/chpwa4g
Enjoy! Keep in mind that is ripped directly from the DVD and edited. Sometimes, some movie noise could not be removed. I am still proud of the edit job(s), particularly in the Escape Route Suite, where I cut Deutschland against the Kaddish cue. I couldn't rip really much of anything from The Cemeterey (too much background noise). I am still working on whipping something up for that one, so stay tuned. Included herein are the Main Title, Suite from Eyes and Suite from Escape Route.
This is one of my favorite scores of the 60's. Goldenberg is such an underrated genius...like the Jacques Rivette of American film composers (no real official releases of great scores to films like DUEL, UP THE SANDBOX and others). In DUEL and NIGHT GALLERY, he combines elements of Herrmann, Morricone (experimental instrumentation), Penderecki and Orlandi and creates an idiom all his own. BUSTING is coming soon on official CD release! That scores successful fusion of funk, rock and jazz sensibilities achieves something Elmer Bernstein tried to achieve throughout the entire 1970's, with just one score.
A SMALL CIRCLE OF FRIENDS (Jim Steinman) http://drop.io/irwxhii
Great score to a kitschy, but okay film. The files, when I got them, were a little more compressed than I would have liked, but nonetheless, it's not an official release.
What's great is that the score is original, entirely orchestral and doesn't rely on the old "oldies soundtrack" game to evoke the 60's zeitgeist. Enjoy!
I've burned CD's from downloaded files which have the metadata album titles, track titles and composers included in them. I use iTunes to burn the CD's.
Later, if I pop the CD back into the computer drive and open it with iTunes, the metadata is gone.
Minimal research on iTunes tells me that the metadata should be burned to the CD. But it's not.
Anyone have any ideas? What am I missing or not doing?
YEAR OF THE DRAGON (David Mansfield) ttp://www.megaupload.com/?d=FB739XTM
From a rare, long out-of-print Japanese CD release. Also: I have included eleven other miscellaneous David Mansfield pieces from other movies, including The Sicilian and Desperate Hours. Enjoy!
By the way, does anyone have Dudley Moore's 30 IS A DANGEROUS AGE, CYNTHIA? The link on Vintage Vinyl is dead. Also, still waiting on WHO IS HARRY KELLERMAN AND WHY IS HE SAYING THOSE TERRIBLE THINGS ABOUT ME? and BABY BOOM.
Next up at bat for me will be compiling a mix of other rare never-released tracks, most lifted directly from the movies themselves and edited. Should be a good mix. Will probably upload tomorrow. To be included:
The Christian Licorice Store (Lalo Schifrin) Dark Beach House from Play Misty for Me (Dee Barton) Kings and Desperate Men (Michel Roubidoux and Pierre Brault) Cutter's Way (Jack Nitzsche) The Prisoner of Second Avenue (Marvin Hamlisch) The Laughing Policeman (Charles Fox) A Stranger Among Us (Jerry Bock) Celine and Julie Go Boating (Jean-Marie Senia) A Dandy in Aspic (Quincy Jones) La Vie est un Roman (Michel Philippe-Gerard) (including 5 actual cues) Who's Minding the Mint? (Lalo Schifrin) Staircase (Dudley Moore) Songs from Greetings! (Children of Paradise) Mr. Majestyk (Charles Bernstein) Who Slew Auntie Roo? (Kenneth Jones) Good Morning, Vietnam (Alex North's theme) Prizzi's Honor (Alex North) Forget All the Old Taboos (Performed by Annie Ross in Salon Kitty) Seems Like Old Times (Marvin Hamlisch) Take the Money and Run (Marvin Hamlisch) Loving (1970, Bernardo Segall) Up the Sandbox (Billy Goldenberg)
Other too probably. Let me do some digging in my iTunes library. Check back!
This is a fantastic blog! I'm so enjoying reading all your comments and have been searching for the Robin Hood Prince Of Thieves Complete Score, so thanks for that link. Looking forward to keeping up on posts here!
I'm on a huge Godard/Michel Legrand kick lately, and while I've discovered lots of Legrand compilations, I'm finding it difficult to locate individual scores. I've managed to find Une Femme Est Une Femme and Pierrot Le Fou, and will upload those as a share asap, but if anyone has the following Legrand scores available, I would really appreciate it.
- Vivre sa vie: Film en douze tableaux (1962) - Bande à part (1964)
Does anybody have a high-quality rip of "Lighthouse" by Debbie Wiseman? I saw a rip a while back with a bitrate of 160, but I was hoping somebody had a higher quality version.
I've also been hoping to find a good high quality rip of "What Dreams May Come" (the film score, not the rejected score), but no luck. Does anybody have it?
@Dr. Go Per your Itunes question about the metadata, I experienced the same unfortunate occurrence. The way I fixed it was to rerip the tracks through Itunes, thereby apparently embedding the metadata in the rip. Be careful with your settings, of course, so you don't lose rate. If somebody knows a better, faster (i.e., no reripping!) way, I'd love to learn it.
Here are folder-size (350x350) album covers for Charles Gerhardt, the Newman family, Max Steiner, and Franz Waxman. Sadly, no Varese covers. Also, I've found that the FSM Silver Age and Golden Age frames around their album art do not photocopy well and are not easy to enhance, so I've included some pristine versions (very large) in case anybody has a use for them.
If you do convert iTunes .aac music files to the CD Redbook format, iTunes should be able to identify the tracks using Gracenote. As such, iTunes will create a file so it "remembers" the track info the next time you put the CD in. Of course this will only work on that same computer.

@ StealthMan,
You're welcome. As RAGTIME was one of my very early efforts at ripping and cleaning up an LP (using Cool Edit), I hope you're not too disappointed in the resulting sound quality. It sounded OK to me at the time.
Cheers!

All this talk of repossessing reminds me of a friend who borrowed a few cassette tapes of mine and then took them to New York ... by "accident".

To be honest, it doesn't sound very much like Goodwin to me.
Thanks Isbum for rallying the Irregulars. Even SH hasn't been able to figure this one out yet.
OK... I'm Counting on you all!
BTW Isbum did you get a chance to listen to Anna yet? If so, do you think that would be a suitable prize for anyone who can crack the mystery?
@ Count - Is that avatar by Bob Peak?
What "Anna" do you speak of?
@isbum, CI
Looks like Ed Wood's chiropractor from "Plan 9 from Outer Space." ;-)
@ Doctor Go
Definite similarity I must admit; but as you can see, I'm much taller, and much better-looking. And I'm a better actor. But then, who isn't?
@ Isbum
The file I sent you of the 45 rpm that I found in the second-hand shop in London for 15 pence.
"Avatar...?" "Bob Peak...?" "Che?"
@ Count Istivan - I figured out what "Anna" you meant.
The house I'm at is connected with wireless and my desktop needs a card to become compatible.
I'll download it once I get my computer working.
It's roomies laptop I'm on for now.
@ Doctor Go
Sorry, I overlooked your previous email, about the music.
@Count Istvan
In that case...
Happy Birthday Count Istvan!
I can't top that picture!
Once you get my age, you start handing out hot dogs and marshmallows on sticks at the party.
That and play "pin the pill on the pain" blindfolded, of course. ;)
@Count Istvan--
Felicitations upon the occasion of your natal anniversary. And a few thousand more, should you so desire them. (Yes, a looooooong time, indeed.) And no, sorry, I've also come up empty for your mysterious tune.

@Count Istvan
happy birthday to you, and a year without excorcisms (or only the necessary ones) ;)
@ GSW
You're welcome and thank you too. I forgot to mention, although you would have worked it out by now, that it was the EAS version.
@ Sorei
Many thanks for the Good Wishes. It's not the exorcisms I mind so much as screwing my head back around the right way. It's no wonder I don't know whether I'm coming or going...
@GSW - Thank you so much!
@ THXjay again,
Having now listened to some of all 3 library albums you posted here, I just want to say thanks again for introducing me to something new. Great stuff!
@ Isbum
I came across a link you posted in the European forum (I really gotta look in there more often) for Great Trumpet for Great Films by Nini Rosso. Even though the film would hardly qualify as "great", by any chance does the album have The Legion's Last Patrol, aka Marcia o Crepa (March or Die)? From memory I don't think he was credited as the soloist in the film, but he had a big hit with a cover version backed by Ken Thorne and his Orchestra.
@ Count Istvan - You got me with that one. :)
Interesting propodition though.
Ken Thorne writes and arranges with a leaning towards the horns.
Particularly in his early efforts like "Help", "The Magic Christian" and the fat, in your ear stuff for "Inspector Clouseau".
Make a request for it.
@ Isbum
What the heck! I'll just download it anyway. Then I can tell you if it's there or not. Given that Nini didn't do all that much for/in films, and given that the cover version of LLP/MOC got to (I think) Number 4 in the charts in England, the odds are good that it has to be there.
Ken Thorne didn't actually write the music for the film. It was all Angelo Lavagnino - even though I've seen Rosso credited (incorrectly, I believe) with composing the Concerto Disparato, as the trumpet theme later became known.
I'd love to see the film again, but it seems to have disappeared.
@ Count Istvan - I don't have access to my computer, so I couldn't tell you what the track list is, exactly.
Hope you like it.
@ Isbum
I'm sure I will. In fact I'll let you know in about 20 minutes... if I don't fall asleep at the keyboard first. Just in case I do, thanks for the share.

@ Isbum,
I tried 3 times to download that Rosso Trumpet file, and each time it got about half-way through then seized up and stopped... :-(
Did anyone else report any problems downloading it at the time?
@ Count Istvan - Nope. Nobody complained.
I passed it to my friends at Lounge Legends, maybe they re-upped it with a different link.

Thanks for the link to the LL site. They had the track-listing there, and The Legion's Last Patrol isn't on the album.
Cheers!

Giant - Dimitri Tiomkin (Soundstage) question:
I have a download of the Soundstage version of Dimitri Tiomkin's "Giant". However, the cover art poses a question. It says "The Original Film Score, First Release of Volume Two."
Check the listing at Soundtrack Collector, under Bootlegs:
http://www.soundtrackcollector.com/catalog/soundtrackdetail.php?movieid=1766
Was there a Volume One? If so, does anyone have it? Soundtrack Collector makes no mention of a Volume One.
@stereoelf : Thank you!
@ Doctor Go
Re the Soundstage "Volume 2" of GIANT, I presume you don't have the back cover, which has the following notes (with my corrections):
Cheers!
@Count
Yeah, duh! I do have the back cover. I read the entire front cover (which had a fold-out listing all of the track info), but not the back cover.
I see it now.
I seem to remember my third grade report card teacher comments:
"Doesn't read instructions."
Thanks, Count!

Brimstone in TP.
@ Doctor Go
You're welcome!

Thanks for posting the "Picnic" score! TCM was just showing it the other day and I thought that I needed a better-sounding copy! Great timing, Sir!
Hi. Anyone have a version the Sunshine score by John Murphy that's free of sound effects?
Here's a link for the curious:

Unfortunately I was that one guy in 100,000...
I am hoping that I can get to regain the control of my arms and legs again.
Oh by the way I watched in my hospital room tonight "Juggernaut"
from 1974.
So isbum, I kept thinking about you a lot during the film, because David Hemmings had one of the leading parts.. Hopefully should be able to embrace you all, in a not too distant future again...
@riddim1903
Sorry to hear about your diagnosis. Appreciate your sharing the information with us.
Prayers and good wishes to you, my friend, and hopes for a complete remission.
@ riddim1903
I wish you all the very best for the future.
@riddim1903
Sorry to hear of your troubles. Many prayers for you. May God Bless You, and keep you safe.
@ riddim 1903
My best wishes too for a speedy and hopefully complete recovery. Please take care and please try to keep us informed of your progress. Our thoughts and hopes are with you.
Riddim1903
I wish you a very quick recovery and my thoughts are be with you.
Anyone be so kind to do a re-up for Ron Goodwin's 'Of Human Bondage'.
Thanks, RonH
@riddim1903 - I am very sorry to hear this news. I hope for a speedy remission. You are in my thoughts my friend.
@riddim1903
My prayers and best wishes to you.
@riddim
read your link.
@ riddim1903:
Wish you all you need for a quick recovery!
@ Count Istvan:
Thanks for THE BUCCANEERS!
@ all:
Here are 2 more scores, not my rips, but my ups.

Anyone have Star Trek: The Motion Picture 20th Anniversary 2CD by Jerry Goldsmith in 320?
I have it in 192, but I'd like to replace it ;)
Many thanks in advance!
@Hank Avaric
I'll post Star Trek 20 Anniversary 2 cds in the planetarium asap.
@Hank Avaric
have a look in the Planetarium...
@southview
do you watch Navy CIS? I always think of one character when I see your avatar... ;) :)
riddim1903:
Please keep us updated. I hope your hospital stay is short. We all wish you a quick recovery...
Southview212:
A big THANKS for all your great shares and comments.
@riddim: Best wishes for a speedy recovery.
@southview: Many. many thanks for your shares.
@all:
Enjoy!

@ David Federman - The Kenyon Hopkins I have available (without having my Cd-r's) from my computer are as follows:
"Contrasting Colors"
"Yellow Canary"
"The Strange One"
If you'd like any of these, let me know here.
Pssst!

In case you didn't know, it's open again!
NO Varese, please!
Another request ; does anybody have the complete score to Michael Kamens "Robin Hood,Prince of Thieves"?
Thanks in advance....
@David Federman - Here are two Hopkins scores released on cd.
Baby Doll @320

The Fugitive Kind @320 (22 trks from the M6M Soundtrack Treasury)

These are not my rips. Thanks to the original uploader.
Look for the LP rip re-ups in the Vintage Vinyl comments section.
ATTENTION ALL STAR WARS AND MECO FANS(some of whom may not like both???!!!)
Here's the link for my compilation of Meco's complete STAR WARS output..all his STAR WARS, EMPIRE, JEDI and EP 1 tracks in the one place....and most importantly, the EMPIRE and JEDI tracks are the original complete versions from the lps, not the bastardized versions to be found on his own "complete" cd which is actually not complete. Once I find my artwork it'll be loaded in the next 2 or 3 days.

@ riddim1903 - stay strong amigo! you're in my thoughts and prayers...and remember (even though in this day and age it might not seem as likely) miracles do happen!
Now stop hitting on all those young nurses and get better already! :)
(btw---I haven't seen it in years but I remember LOVING 'Juggernaut' as a kid!)
@ isbum - sorry about the bad news keem-o-sabe...I'll say the same I said to riddim1903 (only slightly modified): stay strong baby! stay strong!!! (you got a lot more cleaning to do!)
* A request please *
Has anybody got or can you point me to the Brigham Young version
(FMA-MS115) of Johnny Belinda by Max Steiner 1948 - Thank you if you can help me find this.
@ riddim1903. hoping for all the best for your recovery. if i may ask, was this vaccine-related? hang in there, and stay positive!
@ Riddim1903
Best wishes, and please get well soon.

NIGHT GALLERY Pilot Movie by Billy Goldenberg
http://drop.io/chpwa4g
A SMALL CIRCLE OF FRIENDS (Jim Steinman)
http://drop.io/irwxhii
Great score to a kitschy, but okay film. The files, when I got them, were a little more compressed than I would have liked, but nonetheless, it's not an official release.
What's great is that the score is original, entirely orchestral and doesn't rely on the old "oldies soundtrack" game to evoke the 60's zeitgeist. Enjoy!
@all
iTunes and metadata question.
YEAR OF THE DRAGON (David Mansfield)
ttp://www.megaupload.com/?d=FB739XTM
From a rare, long out-of-print Japanese CD release. Also: I have included eleven other miscellaneous David Mansfield pieces from other movies, including The Sicilian and Desperate Hours. Enjoy!
By the way, does anyone have Dudley Moore's 30 IS A DANGEROUS AGE, CYNTHIA? The link on Vintage Vinyl is dead. Also, still waiting on WHO IS HARRY KELLERMAN AND WHY IS HE SAYING THOSE TERRIBLE THINGS ABOUT ME? and BABY BOOM.
Also: WHOSE LIFE IS IT ANYWAY? and THE HARD WAY.
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=FB739XTM
Next up at bat for me will be compiling a mix of other rare never-released tracks, most lifted directly from the movies themselves and edited. Should be a good mix. Will probably upload tomorrow. To be included:
The Christian Licorice Store (Lalo Schifrin)
Dark Beach House from Play Misty for Me (Dee Barton)
Kings and Desperate Men (Michel Roubidoux and Pierre Brault)
Cutter's Way (Jack Nitzsche)
The Prisoner of Second Avenue (Marvin Hamlisch)
The Laughing Policeman (Charles Fox)
A Stranger Among Us (Jerry Bock)
Celine and Julie Go Boating (Jean-Marie Senia)
A Dandy in Aspic (Quincy Jones)
La Vie est un Roman (Michel Philippe-Gerard) (including 5 actual cues)
Who's Minding the Mint? (Lalo Schifrin)
Staircase (Dudley Moore)
Songs from Greetings! (Children of Paradise)
Mr. Majestyk (Charles Bernstein)
Who Slew Auntie Roo? (Kenneth Jones)
Good Morning, Vietnam (Alex North's theme)
Prizzi's Honor (Alex North)
Forget All the Old Taboos (Performed by Annie Ross in Salon Kitty)
Seems Like Old Times (Marvin Hamlisch)
Take the Money and Run (Marvin Hamlisch)
Loving (1970, Bernardo Segall)
Up the Sandbox (Billy Goldenberg)
Other too probably. Let me do some digging in my iTunes library. Check back!
@ Daniel Kramer
Many thanks for Night Gallery. Looing forward to your future posts !!
This is a fantastic blog! I'm so enjoying reading all your comments and have been searching for the Robin Hood Prince Of Thieves Complete Score, so thanks for that link. Looking forward to keeping up on posts here!
@ Dr. Go iTunes and metadata question.
When you burn a CD for use in a Cd player (AKA redbook CD format) the metadata is lost during the transcoding.
You would have to burn a CD of data files, like Apple's .aiff or .aac or Windows .wav.
Hope this helps.
@ OperaGirlUSA - Welcome to our home!
I'm requesting what you want from Southview212.
With any luck, he'll ride out of the Florida swamps with a link for you.
@ OperaGirlUSA - Oop's! Southview212 only has the commercial release of the score.
Had an omelet for breakfast and now egg on my face. Sorry.
Perhaps someone else can help. :(
I'm on a huge Godard/Michel Legrand kick lately, and while I've discovered lots of Legrand compilations, I'm finding it difficult to locate individual scores. I've managed to find Une Femme Est Une Femme and Pierrot Le Fou, and will upload those as a share asap, but if anyone has the following Legrand scores available, I would really appreciate it.
- Vivre sa vie: Film en douze tableaux (1962)
- Bande à part (1964)

Does anybody have a high-quality rip of "Lighthouse" by Debbie Wiseman? I saw a rip a while back with a bitrate of 160, but I was hoping somebody had a higher quality version.
I've also been hoping to find a good high quality rip of "What Dreams May Come" (the film score, not the rejected score), but no luck. Does anybody have it?
@@JEAN
Thanx for the "Music from the films of marlin Brando" links
@Dr. Go
Per your Itunes question about the metadata, I experienced the same unfortunate occurrence. The way I fixed it was to rerip the tracks through Itunes, thereby apparently embedding the metadata in the rip. Be careful with your settings, of course, so you don't lose rate. If somebody knows a better, faster (i.e., no reripping!) way, I'd love to learn it.
@shadow
I have "what dreams may come" by Kamen in @192. Tell me if you want it, please. :-)
@ shadow -
I'll have "Lighthouse" here, in about an hour.

Wonderful shop!
@sorei,
Sure, I'll take What Dreams May Come in 192 - what I have currently is a mix of 192 and 128 tracks, so this will be a nice improvement! Thanks.
@ Southview212,
Wow, thanks for Lighthouse! Very much appreciated! And in 320, nice!
@shadow
I thought I had it in better, but I was wrong, so here's 192 'what dreams may come' - Kamen

@sorei,
Thanks for What Dreams May Come!
@Countess and Dr, Go and metadata
If you do convert iTunes .aac music files to the CD Redbook format, iTunes should be able to identify the tracks using Gracenote. As such, iTunes will create a file so it "remembers" the track info the next time you put the CD in. Of course this will only work on that same computer.
