A Request for the 2 "Dr. Who" cds on the Silva label by Murray Gold #SILCD 1224 and # SILCD 1250
If anyone could do a dvd rip of "Casanova" Masterpiece Theatre with David Tennant/Peter O'Toole, that would be much appreciated also. This soundtrack was never released.
I could help with BEN-HUR but my computer is still wonky, freezing up randomly and frequently for no apparent reason. Vists blows. I'll give it a shot but it's iffy.
@bistis6 - Post the BEN-HUR whenever you can. Believe me I understand puter problems. I hope you don't mind but I have THE DUELLIST and will go ahead and post for Dylan.
@bistis6 - I'm glad your puter problems have been solved, at least for the present. Thank you for the BEN-HUR. You are correct about THE DUELLISTS. I did not have the tracks for RIDDLE OF THE SANDS and I thank you for those also. I should have just waited for you to upload. I'm sorry.
PS. Please be advised that the download does NOT contain the front and back covers above. I only found them later. So grab the artwork from the above links.
This was a way cool movie, from the day when B-grade movies still had a sense of humour. Enjoy!
@Ennio - I doubt if Hotel Babylon will ever see an official score release....although stranger things have happened! I guess it's up to someone with the technical know-how and time to rip the music from the dvd's.
@Isbum - Couldn't agree more about "Hustle" it's one of the coolest shows around and has some fantastically groovy music featured in it too :)
I've been falling behind on my blog reading lately so I've probably missed zillions of posts here! I'm going to try and catch up a little in case I've missed anything special :)
Hell, no need to apologize!! My computer keeps freezing up at random intervals, could be 10 minutes or it could be 2 hours. Frankly, I'm shocked it made it through the upload of three CDs. The success of my actually being able to upload/post it was iffy at best so I thank you for the effort. Now, enjoy RIDDLE OF THE SANDS, it's a beaut!
hi everyone, can someone help me out with goldsmiths rio conchos the fsm version of the full score plus some tracks in stereo, would also love it in 320 quality.
I just watched Young Frankenstein again last night, and it suddenly occurred to me that I had not thought to ask anyone here if they had the soundtrack! The last time I actually saw it was back when my fully grown son was only 3 years old. So, does anyone here have this hauntingly beautiful score?
@Christine Cougar - I can't upload YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN for you but I can upload YOUNG FRON-KON-STEEN!! lol. There is a lot of dialogue and sound effects but I don't think there was ever an official album of strictly music released. I have broken it up into 3 small downloads for you and as always if there is a problem let me know.
There was an official release once upon a time. The last time I saw it with my own eyes it was on LP in a Tower Records store back when I still lived in California. Not to discount your work or anything, but I do have the DVD and up to this point that has been my only source for music.....and yes it is very cluttered. I'll try searching the torrent archives for it if no one here has the official release.
Note that the CD release on there has 14 tracks (same as Gunshot), and that it makes a point of saying "Contains dialogue and music". I think there is also a complete bootleg version taken directly from the movie, but it is bound to contain even more dialogue.
@Christine Cougar - I think you misunderstood what I was saying. To the best of my knowledge there was never an official released with JUST music and nothing else. I have the official release on LP and it contains music & dialogue. What I uploaded is the same as the LP (ABC Records ABCL-5108) and the cd (One Way Records/MCA MCAD-22192).
Apparently, the upcoming Blu-Ray release will have an isolated score, WOOHOO!! I'm anxious to hear the Creation Scene cue which is nearly inaudible in the film, but I have no Blu-Ray player. Does anyone here own one that would be willing to do a rip?
@ steve - I checked the old "private share" directory's we used to have on the blog and no finchley@ anything on there. If you get in touch with bisti6 I guess he'll tell me whats cooking in the Argentinian's kitchen. ;)
01. The Great Migration 7:49 02. Sharptooth And The Earthquake 10:33 03. Whispering Winds 9:00 04. If We Hold On Together 4:07 05. Foraging For Food 7:15 06. The Rescue / Discovery Of The Great Valley 12:43 07. End Credits 6:22
@jersey devil - Thank you so much for the 2 Friedhofers. I had them but the bit rate was horrible. Before I started blogging I knew nothing about bit rates. Now a monster has been created. :)
@elias - Thank you me amigo for THE LAND BEYOND TIME.
From the dvd of a great the movie, the fabulous baker boys, the song that sing the fabolous michelle pffeifer. I have the original soundtrack (not a copy, the original¡)and only has two songs¡¡ besides the great score by Dave Grusin.
@ j - Totally forgot your request here, just spotted it again on the back pages. One song only everybody, and it seems zshare is kaput, so here it is on megaupload... Claudine Longet - Love Is Blue (L'Amour Est Bleu)
@ honored general - In belated appreciation of your Lighthorsemen share, here is Mario Millo's first scoring assignment. Australia's first television mini-series, with Jon English on vocals, the epic and beautiful...
@ score-brother - Lyrics? Sorry dude, I ain't a karaoke machine. A quick google didn't turn up much either, but an even quicker listen indicates they go something like this...
I feel a fire when you look at me You pull the trigger on my destiny I might be crazy but I can't help feeling That you could something mumble mutter thingie over me
Yup, that's them, no doubt about it. LOL, good luck on your search!
Hey everyone, I have a question more than a request.
In 'A Clockwork Orange', the scene where Alex reads the Bible and has violent fantasies, what is the classical piece playing in the backround? -----------------------------------
If it's that brief, solo violin piece, that's Rimsky Korsakov's SCHEREAZADE(sic). Check out the Classical Music Hall on this site for several great recordings :) If it's not that, it may be a piece by Wendy Carlos, believe it or not, all of which has since been released in complete form, or on her Rediscovering Lost Scores Vol. 1 & 2.
For the record, after hearing the song for a substantial amount of time last night - two hours and thirty minutes to be exact - I was able to make out most of the song, except the verses that come after this one:
"You make it easy for a man to be strong You've got the freedom I've wanted so long..."
But other than that, thanks for your time in trying to help me out.
I guess I could post this question on "Yahoo! Answers" and see what may pop up...
@ ruggo - Huh? Me like strange! Prague not strange!
Ruggo. I'm talking 12 Cd's of wonderfully remastered soundtracks! It blasted into orbit and quickly crashed into 1,200 pieces scattered all over planet Earth. It's our mission to discover the mysteries held within The Black Box!
@ Ruggo - Thanks, but he seriously wants the "I Am Woman" release. I had the Lp but it was trashed and we located it on Cd Import paired with her "pink" colored Lp, but alas, too expensive to afford.
I just can't find a blog that focuses on the "mellow rock" or "easy rock" genre.
just wanted to pass on the info about this great custom soundtrack my friends and I put together for my blog. it's for Quentin Tarantino's Death Proof featuring every song from the film including the ones left off the soundtrack release. enjoy. here's the link. couldn't do it without the help of my two pals "Comeback Shane" and J. enjoy people!
@isbum i haven't forgotten about the RevCo albums I said I'd post for you. I'll try to get off my lazy behind and get them up for you shortly. sorry for the long wait pal. :)
@All - Back in the 1970's I used to read FILMS IN REVIEW magazine and always looked forward to the soundtrack reviews. Each year music critic Page Cook chose a "5 Best Film Scores". I thought I would share it with you guys. The list includes the years 1959-1982.

Thanks for that great list. Now I'll have to go through and see what I'm missing.
One personal note: 1963, How The West Was Won.
I remember seeing the film in its original 3-projector Cinerama presentation. The soundtrack was fantastic and something I looked forward to getting.
What a disappointment. With the exception of the main theme and a few isolated tracks I found the whole thing derivative, repetitious and filled with huge amounts of unoriginal themes.
to whoever posted the 2 big files 45's I and 45's II: first of all, thanks for sharing. huge collection. however, you forgot to mention the titles and years. unfortunately it give a feeling of unfinished work and sadly makes it almost unusable for radio shows and other mediatic exposures, as titles are needed for a broadcast, and for a dj set's playlist as well. correct track names need to be written on the broadcasting sheets, so the broadcasted artists can get fully paid. i don't know if i made myself clear... not commending you but these complete tracklists would be more than appreciated! thanks in advance
@ruggo - Regarding HOW THE WEST WAS WON. I saw the movie when it first came out also but I did not get to see it in its original Cinerama presentation. I saw the single projection version but at least it was on a huge screen. I loved it and still do to this day. I must say though that a lot of my love for the movie is nostalgic.
It was also the first soundtrack I ever bought and it is still my favorite. Again nostalgia plays a large part.
I can understand how you might feel about Newman's score but I just love it. I have always loved what I guess you would call songs of "Americana" and I thought they were well woven into Newman's origanl themes. The score does get criticized for not being completely origianl but there are many other scores that have done the same thing, whether it be a particular song, a classical piece, etc. I felt the music was appropriate for the story and was executed flawlessly. I would much rather have a fully rounded score partially based upon existing music than one which used the same theme endlessly and never expanded. To me a good example is BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN. The same boring theme was heard over and over and over and over to the point that I just wanted to scream. Of course others loved it, including "The Academy". For the life of me I don't understand why. I do not have the BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN score and don't want it. Once you've herad the first minute of the "score" you've heard it all.
Opinions vary and you have every right to feel the way you do. Wouldn't dream of saying you are wrong. I'm glad there is so much music we do agree upon.
Opinions are like assholes. Everybody's got one :)
Interesting to observe how many scores on that list have never been released. I am yet to see anything by Scott Lee Hart, for one. Shanks, Incredible Sarah, both unreleased. There seems to be a leaning towards classic scoring (Rozsa seems dominant), and less towards lighter scores (what, no Mancini).
Anyone have "The Counterfeit Traitor", by Alfred Newman? Has been released, would love a listen.
i've never heard that saying before, i think i'm going to have to borrow that and quote you as the the source of it when i do. everbody's got one...lol. i love it.
@ruggo & All - Ruggo you mentioned you had never seen any score by Scott Lee Hart who was on the "Best" list. Today I found out why. I did some web research (which I should have done before I posted) that was very revealing.
But first there are a couple of errors I need to correct.
FILMS IN REVIEW did began in 1959 but critic Page Cook's column was not included until 1963. Sometime afterward FIR offered copies of the "Best" list for sale at which point Cook began the list with 1959. This list was updated annually with Cook's latest choices.
Now for unveiling the mystery.
Death Be Not Proud-Scott Lee Hart (1972) Portrait of Immortality-Scott Lee Hart (1975) Clay Shuttered Doors-Rennie Dawson (1977)
These films and composers do not exist. They are the products of Cook's imagination. I found some responses on Film Score Monthly's message board that shed some light. You guys might find it intresting. I had no idea. Some further info about FIR's Page Cook
I should have researched further before posting and passing on faulty info.
Is there anyone here with a scanner that has either the original LP issue or the Intrada promo of YOUNG SHERLOCK HOLMES who could post a hi-res scan of the title logo? I'd like to do a little custom artwork but unfortunately my scanner has no driver for Vista. Thanks.
Plus, anyone know how I can get in touch with Riddim, who runs the In the Universe blog? For some reason, I can't find a contact link for him anywhere there.
@gunshotwound - I'm probably speaking out of school here, it's what I do best, but I think of those imaginary composers from Page Cook:
Death Be Not Proud-Scott Lee Hart Portrait of Immortality-Scott Lee Hart Clay Shuttered Doors-Rennie Dawson
actually emailed FSM at one point that they were a real person! I can't recall which, but he only did a couple of film scores, worked more for the church lately. I just searched the site again and couldn't find it, but it's out there! Too funny :)
@ score-brother - Changed your mind about that post, I see. :)
Well, I wondered if you really wanted to be a go-between for a blogger who has decided to take his site private.
Well, old Franklynot isn't going private. Why should we? I've never felt the need to manage who comes and who goes. As Filmpac points out, we have a dedicated group of lurkers who enjoy (without saying anything) the music posted here. 99.9% of the people here have never caused trouble or re-posted music from this blog without getting permission or giving credit.
As you know, our friend Jean did start a private blog because he had a bad experience here.
That was his choice and I'm fine with it. Those of you visiting here are not missing out on anything because you haven't been invited. Jean has made it clear that myself and a few of the shopkeepers can fulfill any requests that you post here. Simply put, ask for anything you'd like. If it's new or a limited edition, request a private share and leave your email address.
Join in shy people! Drop the "lurker" title, sign up for a google/blogger account and be a voice here. You need proof that we're open to everyone? Take a stroll through the archives of the past year.
Don't stress over private blogs, we're here and open to everybody.
'tis truly a wonderful place you have here, in fact, I find it quite dear. My visits come often, my own comments rare, hopefully of that, you will think neither here nor there. I shall never see a poem as lovely as a tree, nor steal a link from thou or three, 'twould be a true shame in the blogging chain, from more rhymes I shall now refrain.
I'd love to get into Master Cylinder's blog again... I messaged him about his release of THE KILLERS having no sound but then couldn't get back in to get a new share of it. :(
Would anyone have his email or a way to contact him, possibly?
@ --mcc - Drop me a line. I have no idea how to reach the Master C., but I can pass you "The Killers". Actually...seems to be 2 versions, so let's talk.
Even though these guys only did one score together, I'm a confessed CINEMASCORE junkie. And who couldn't love RAW DEAL ("You should not drink and bake!") Aside from Chris Boardman, it also introduced me to composer Tom Bahler, who did another quirky film score that's been a favorite of mine, COLD FEET (I'll post that scorer if anyone is interested(?).) You can check out Tom here - http://www.myspace.com/tombahler
Albhy Galuten, the 3rd guy of the group, went on to being a grammy winning music producer and was also responsible for the first ever commercial drum loop (Staying Alive - Bee Gees) and "Enhanced Cd's," amongst other creative endeavors.
@Mcc: The problem is that I have the original score of "The fabulous baker boys" and there are only two of the song that the great Pffeifer sings. I want the other songs not released in the soundtrack, like "Feelings", etc, etc. And only is possible with a dvd rip or something like that
@Scoreteeth: I want to listen the previews of future soundtracks that will arrive this year, especially "Australia" by David Hirschfelder and "Cheri" and "The curios casa of Benjamin Button" by Alexander Desplat. How do you get these previews? You are inside of the industry?
I know a guy who knows a guy, who knows a guy, who knows me. Other than that, I once said out loud to my Dentist that I'd surly give my two front teeth for all the film scores in the world... well, just take a look at my picture.
@ ghost in reverse - Sorry if I am treading on your toes here, mine was also uploaded during the night, before I saw your message. Seems a shame to let the link go to waste...
@Goglinscore - Regarding the fake composers & films listed by Page Cook.
I think the composer you are thinking of is Edward David Zeliff sited as #2 for PILATE'S EASTER in 1980. He was a real person. I found a letter he wrote to FSM after there was some speculation that he ever existed. He wanted to let people know that he was actually a real person. He had worked as a composer for religious films or as he called them "church basement" films and PILATE'S EASTER was one of those religious films. A 30 minute short. He also said that he composed for a few features an actually had one of his religious feature film scores recorded for sale THE LIVING WORD. I found his letter when I was searching the web. Here is a link if you would like to read it. "Yes I am a real person, Edward David Zeliff"
@bisitis6 - Did you ever get the scan of YOUNG SHERLOCK HOLMES you requested? Take a look at this photo here. It is 2331x3520 resolution and can be blown up quite large. I know it is not exactly what you were looking for but it might help you. Young Sherlock Holmes poster
No, nobody has uploaded a scan yet. I've seen that size poster on the movieposters auction site, but the problem is that daggone crease that appears in the most inopportune of places in the logo. It's like that in all four files on that site. Thanks for the tip, though. Again, if anyone can scan the title logo for me at a high resolution I'd appreciate it.
he's getting charged with a felony count, and he's facing up to 3 years and $250,000 in fines...apparently leaking copyrighted material on the internet before it's release date is now a felony...yikes!! i suggest we all be careful as to what we post!
Absolutely there is an Ed Zeliff. Not only is he very real and very talented, but I knew him well.
Ed was the choir director about 15 years ago where I sing. We spent quite a bit of time before and after rehearsals and during breaks discussing film music.
I'm the proud owner of a number of his full symphonic soundtrack compositions which he transferred to cassette tape for me.
Ed's fondness for Bronislau Kaper was enormous and I recall the work we put in on "Green Dolphin Street" as a particularly satisfying experience.
Other than the well-worn tapes, I have never heard any of Ed's music on the soundtrack of a film, but I always thought that he had more than enough skill, talent, passion and imagination to make it in Hollywood.
He also ran off with a very lovely married soprano, ending his career with our group in a very abrupt manner. Artistic temperament, no doubt.
Thank you for the notes about Zeliff, and for confirming I'm not imagining things! And yes, that G n R story, while not on the scope of "our" blogs, is scary, so caution is the word o' the day!
Here I am again! So, I rented "What Happens in Vegas" and I've attempted to get the score by removing the center channel. Here's the issue... I was using "ac3 filter" on my old computer, that had XP. With Vista, I can't remove the center channel using the filter. Vista has a karaoke function, but does not completely remove the center channel. Can someone help me, or can someone else give it a try, to get this score.
New rip (thanks go to a dude called Filmmusicman) of an old score. Hysterically, Krakatoa was actually located west of Java. During filming the producers became aware of this, but kept the title thinking it sounded more exotic. Hollywood was never known for its historical accuracy, hey...
@ruggo - Glad to find out somebody here actually knew Mr. Zeliff. All these years I had often wandered about him and his short film PILATE'S EASTER. I'm glad he turned out to be a real person. Too bad about Mr. Scott and Mr. Dawson.
@filmpac - Thank you for KRAKATOA. It has fantastic cover art.
Hadn't been around a while...Was too busy with my own work as well as posting etc. I enjoy sharing...
Below are several John Scott scores with isbum's request "The Whistle Blower" being the first one in the line up.
I had re-up on josereals request for his forum, thus I have them and quite a bit more actually.
Please note that after the links went dead and I was asked to re-up using my own keeps, I noticed that there is no track info on The Whistle Blower, nor are the tracks marked, they're all called track one track two etc. in Spanish as unrecognised manner. The back cover shows also no signs of track info, so my own conclusion is that this must be a bootleg, an unofficial copy of sorts.
Well enjoy and nice being here again...
Yes isbum is right as soon as I get the "Blazing Saddles-John Morris" and "El Cid - 3 CD's-ROZSA",
I'd like to share on a private basis.
Simply drop a line to riverrunsinto@gmail.com. I'll do the rest :)
Been revisiting a few of my Broughton's today, wondered if anyone can help improve on a couple of IN*r*D* titles IF they are sold out, not too sure of their current status..
Looking for: Tombstone (anything better than 128) and Monster Squad (only have that terrible bootleg version)
and still after the 1999 Broughton Promo from IN*r*D* 'Sounds Exciting' Cat' No CD 4002 and can be seen on SC here:
You have sent me spinning now, as I didn't know of an expanded version! I only have the 18 track version. Hmmmm, now what? Tell you what my friend, give it a couple of days, maybe our friends here can help us both out with an expanded version, if not, a 160 version would be most welcome, many thanks.
@ Jersey Devil Never thought I'd be so happy to have tears in my eyes, totally heartbreaking, and overwhelming, thank you again.
I can help with both MONSTER SQUAD and SOUNDS EXCITING. MONSTER SQUAD is still in print so it'll have to be a private share. As I said earlier, I'm out of town and won't be able to upload anything for a couple of weeks. Bear in mind that these will be 320 rips from my own official CDs, but if you find them before I get a chance to get them to you, no problem. Let me know either way.
Thank you very much in deed, absolutely no rush on either of them, leave it a couple of weeks no problem, do you have an email you've made public here?
I am new here, but Isbum has done so much for score lovers, I just hope I will be able to contribute when I can.
@clint's archive
I tried, like you say there are so many great people here always willing to step up, I missed it...still looking for the "YOUNG SHERLOCK HOLMES" CD to scan...
@Clint's Archive - No Problem. I didn't know there was one either! I found out when I went to check my track listing before zipping. The expanded would be nice.
You guy's really chatted up a storm today, I don't know what or who to address first.
@ keving - Go ahead and post your copy of "Monster Squad" (preferably at 320 kbt). Bistis6 won't have a problem with it, he's a real mature guy. ;) Like Ennioman says, we've all placed 2nd in the upload race here. :)
Hi my friends here at the great Isbum Place. I am looking for two italian scores maybe someone can help ?? Ritratto D' Autore from Claudio Simonetti and Marcello Giombini Le Dolci Notti CAM LP 1962 Thanks guys :)
Here's one I can't remember seeing here, from an old file of mine, This is a Re-recording of Stu Phillip's Battlestar Galactica by the Scottish National Orchestra
Only @128 but a very very good 128, so don't be put off, give it a go.
@ JD It's a very long story, but I remember learning about Williams in school (some 28 years ago)! And his 5th symphony was the one I remember as really standing out, one of the most stirring musical pieces that engraved itself on my mind, and yet, I had never owned it..
I recall a lot of his work being choral, and some of it extremely heavy, which I must confess I find a little hard to listen to. I have only just started reading about his private life and what an extraordinary story it is. What an extraordinary man!? His devotion to both crippled wife and younger mistress is incredibly moving. Which made me want to rediscover his music once again. So I'm a bit of a novice in respects to remembering his musical work, it's just that 5th Symphony that takes me right back and if there are any other works of his that are as stirring and emotional as his 5th, I'd be very interested in knowing.
Here's an interesting one which may appeal to Roy Budd fans out there. Arguably, GET CARTER remains one of his greatest and most loved scores and of course contains one of the greatest Killer main title tunes (what a Bass line). So here is a selection of 10 remixed versions of that main title for Budd fans to enjoy.
May not appeal to all, but only one way to find out..
Just want to advise that there is also some strong language included.
Hi just like to draw your attention to this jazzy soundtrack as its so good
Masabumi Kikuchi - A Short Story For Image: hairpin circus [1972] [PHILIPS/Nippon Phonogram FS-6514] "This soundtrack from Motion Picture "Hairpin Circus" was called the answer from Japan to Miles on "Ascenseur pour I'Echafaud" and MJQ on "No Sun in Venice".
Rapidshare doesn't seem to be cooperating, or it's something I am doing wrong. Since I am new to this can someone give a very quick tutorial on up-loading to Rapidshare. When I try it always times out.
Once I get it worked out I'll go ahead with "Monster Squad"
rapidshare.com ... click browse , find your compressed (zip or rar) file on your pc , click upload , wait until finished (30mins approx)copy and paste dl link here :)
@ isbum I follow mel! Yes for the three of them which I never saw shared anywhere else. Thank you! BTW, it's September 1st. Don't forget to close August thread and open a new one for the opening month. I'm ready when you are to post the August link lists. Cheers

@All - Can anybody help me out with the 2cd-88trk BEN-HUR from Rhino. The booklet would be nice also.
@ All-
A Request for the 2 "Dr. Who" cds on the Silva label by Murray Gold
#SILCD 1224 and # SILCD 1250
If anyone could do a dvd rip of "Casanova" Masterpiece Theatre with David Tennant/Peter O'Toole, that would be much appreciated also. This soundtrack was never released.
Thank You in advance,
Honored General
@ Ruggo & @ Rick,
Thank you both, the Former For the Fiddler, the Latter for Jesse's Leftout.
@ gunshotwound
I could help with BEN-HUR but my computer is still wonky, freezing up randomly and frequently for no apparent reason. Vists blows. I'll give it a shot but it's iffy.
Anybody have the gorgeous "The Duellists" by Howard Blake?
Just saw the film, which is wonderful, and I'm not only blown away by how wonderful the music is, but that nobody ever talks about it.
@ dylan
I have that. Computer seems to be OK running in safe mode. I'll try.
At a silent film board, someone posted the Movietone score for John Ford's 1928 silent Four Sons on one big 67 MB mp3 file:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=4ZF15Z42
Mostly instrumental, with occasional sound effects and vocals. One hour, thirty-seven minutes and twenty-one seconds of late 1920s film music.
@ quotewhore - What's this sites address? I bet they'd appreciate the plug and some compliments.
@rick --Huge thank you for the unreleased Jesse James end titles. A favorite of mine! :)
@isbum --check your email in about a half an hour :)
@bistis6 - Post the BEN-HUR whenever you can. Believe me I understand puter problems. I hope you don't mind but I have THE DUELLIST and will go ahead and post for Dylan.
@Dylan-Here is THE DUELLISTS (19@320) Thanks to the original uploader.

@All - I was wondering around last night at YDHTVTB and I found a couple of things that I don't think have been shared here.
THE BIG BUS-David Shire (bootleg/11@192)

Enjoy!!!
@ Honoured General,
I *think* this post has the two Murray Golds you're looking for.
@ 3410 -
Thank You, Thank you so much! XD!
honored general
@bistis6 - I'm glad your puter problems have been solved, at least for the present. Thank you for the BEN-HUR.
You are correct about THE DUELLISTS. I did not have the tracks for RIDDLE OF THE SANDS and I thank you for those also. I should have just waited for you to upload. I'm sorry.
@ scoretooth - Your request from 08/08/08, probably the only date this year that works in all languages...

@ gunshotwound
Hell, no need to apologize!! My computer keeps freezing up at random intervals, could be 10 minutes or it could be 2 hours. Frankly, I'm shocked it made it through the upload of three CDs. The success of my actually being able to upload/post it was iffy at best so I thank you for the effort. Now, enjoy RIDDLE OF THE SANDS, it's a beaut!
hi everyone,
can someone help me out with goldsmiths rio conchos the fsm version of the full score plus some tracks in stereo, would also love it in 320 quality.
many thanks in advance...
Could anyone who has my email and is interested in Lalo email me. Cryptic, yes but forgive me, there are reasons!
@ steve - Did you used to go by
steve2000a?
I've known you a long while, but that's the only address I have.
@ all
I just watched Young Frankenstein again last night, and it suddenly occurred to me that I had not thought to ask anyone here if they had the soundtrack! The last time I actually saw it was back when my fully grown son was only 3 years old. So, does anyone here have this hauntingly beautiful score?
@ steve
I'm intrigued but have no email for you. Mine is my username at gmail.com
YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN-John Morris (14@192)
http://www.divshare.com/folder/383150-2d1
Enjoy and thanks to the original uploader.
@isbum
No its the one that starts finchley...
@bistis6, I'll write you
@ gunshotwound
There was an official release once upon a time. The last time I saw it with my own eyes it was on LP in a Tower Records store back when I still lived in California. Not to discount your work or anything, but I do have the DVD and up to this point that has been my only source for music.....and yes it is very cluttered. I'll try searching the torrent archives for it if no one here has the official release.
Howdy gang :)
I have two requests - if they have go private, you can ring me at:
goblinscore@comcast.net
WITHOUT A CLUE (Mancini) BuySoundtrax CD Ltd Edition.
MARTIN/POLLOCK (Rubenstein) Perseverance Ltd. Ed.
Thanks much!
@ christine cougar - Actually, I do believe what Gunshotwound has provided is indeed the official release.
Soundtrack Collector:
http://www.soundtrackcollector.com/catalog/soundtrackdetail.php?movieid=24391
@ gunshotwound and christine cougar
Apparently, the upcoming Blu-Ray release will have an isolated score, WOOHOO!! I'm anxious to hear the Creation Scene cue which is nearly inaudible in the film, but I have no Blu-Ray player. Does anyone here own one that would be willing to do a rip?
@bistis6 - Blu-Ray?? What's that?? Is that Ray starved for oxygen? Is he going to take time out from trying to breathe and play a DVD?
:) :) :)
Really, I don't even own a regular DVD player much less a dying man trying to play them. :)
I do have a player on my puter but I rarely watch movies on it because I can't sit back and relax.
@ steve - I checked the old "private share" directory's we used to have on the blog and no finchley@ anything on there.
If you get in touch with bisti6 I guess he'll tell me whats cooking in the Argentinian's kitchen. ;)
@ gunshotwound.....I applaud you, you are my hero today. I was a laserdisc guy until these DVD's came along, now there's blu-ray....ugh, what next :(
Fight the power, resist change!!!!!
@All - Can anybody help me with these two.

Its not on the soundtrack and I cant find mention of it anywhere?
I loveit though, so could anyone give me a title if they can?
@bistis6 Thank you so much for Ben Hur. But the 2nd CD seems corrupted somehow. Most of the tracks are silent.

@ score-brother - Lyrics? Sorry dude, I ain't a karaoke machine. A quick google didn't turn up much either, but an even quicker listen indicates they go something like this...
I feel a fire when you look at me
You pull the trigger on my destiny
I might be crazy but I can't help feeling
That you could something mumble mutter thingie over me
Yup, that's them, no doubt about it.

Check out the Classical Music Hall on this site for several great recordings :)
If it's not that, it may be a piece by Wendy Carlos, believe it or not, all of which has since been released in complete form, or on her Rediscovering Lost Scores Vol. 1 & 2.
@filmpac
thank you kindly for the song, it's much appreciated... =)
...oh and thank you thank you to 'g' and Bistis for Without A Clue! Grazie!
@jersey devil - Thank you for the second Friedhofer set. Now if I can find the Friedhofer/Stromberg set Friedhofer's world will be OK.
@filmpac:
Ahh, ok then.
Thanks for your time.
For the record, after hearing the song for a substantial amount of time last night - two hours and thirty minutes to be exact - I was able to make out most of the song, except the verses that come after this one:
"You make it easy for a man to be strong
You've got the freedom I've wanted so long..."
But other than that, thanks for your time in trying to help me out.
I guess I could post this question on "Yahoo! Answers" and see what may pop up...
Anyway, take care.
Rock on.

@gunshotwound
@ oui - Your request is reasonable, but would be better asked in European Cine-Scores.
Please re-post it there to the attention of Janus2810.
P.S. Don't be surprised if he would like a paycheck too, it was a huge undertaking putting these together.

Opinions vary from person to person.
It's why I don't encourage them here.

EnjoY!
Death Be Not Proud-Scott Lee Hart (1972)
Portrait of Immortality-Scott Lee Hart (1975)
Clay Shuttered Doors-Rennie Dawson (1977)
These films and composers do not exist. They are the products of Cook's imagination. I found some responses on Film Score Monthly's message board that shed some light. You guys might find it intresting. I had no idea.
Some further info about FIR's Page Cook
I should have researched further before posting and passing on faulty info.
Is there anyone here with a scanner that has either the original LP issue or the Intrada promo of YOUNG SHERLOCK HOLMES who could post a hi-res scan of the title logo? I'd like to do a little custom artwork but unfortunately my scanner has no driver for Vista. Thanks.
@ John Scott fans - I know we had a whole lot of Scott's, but did anyone post "The Whistle Blower"?

Mellow out. :)

Please enjoy the providers of franklynot.
J'èspere que vous cela vous agrée.
During the last weeks I often visited
http://worldofsoundtrack.blogspot.com/
Today I discovered that it switched to a private blog. Does anyone have a contact e-mail to ask for an invitation ?
Please help.
Ditto the contact info for World of Soundtrack.
Plus, anyone know how I can get in touch with Riddim, who runs the In the Universe blog? For some reason, I can't find a contact link for him anywhere there.
Re: In the Universe - I don't have riddim1903's contact information.
However, my bookmark still allows me to look at the blog. The latest post promises the 3 disc El Cid and Blazing Saddles as upcoming posts.
Now that I said that here, they may cut me out of the private blog. ;)
Full disclosure has it's risks, I guess! ;)
@gunshotwound - I'm probably speaking out of school here, it's what I do best, but I think of those imaginary composers from Page Cook:
Death Be Not Proud-Scott Lee Hart
Portrait of Immortality-Scott Lee Hart
Clay Shuttered Doors-Rennie Dawson
actually emailed FSM at one point that they were a real person!
@Isbum:
Well, my good man, unspite of the comment you just posted, I do want to say this...
I took it off on account that I requested an invitation to the blog.
I am only assuming that I am probably not going to receive the invitation...
But other than that, I am in search of a soundtrack.
I am curious if you have the LP soundtrack to "Critters..."
I have this soundtrack, however, I am looking for the vocal tracks featured in the movie.
The tracks are:
"Power of the Night"
(Terrance MANN)
"Leather"
(White Chicks)
"Still You Turn Me On"
(The Mix)
"No Turning Back"
(Che Zuro)
My e-mail address is:

Thanks in advance.
Best regards,

@ isbum (et al):
'tis truly a wonderful place you have here,
in fact, I find it quite dear.
My visits come often, my own comments rare,
hopefully of that, you will think neither here nor there.
I shall never see a poem as lovely as a tree,
nor steal a link from thou or three,
'twould be a true shame in the blogging chain,
from more rhymes I shall now refrain.
@ Alex
Sorry, I don't have any leverage to getting that song from THE FABULOUS BAKER BOYS.
@ All
Anyone interested in some early teasers/preview of this Fall's upcoming film scores?
: )
SToothy
I'd love to get into Master Cylinder's blog again... I messaged him about his release of THE KILLERS having no sound but then couldn't get back in to get a new share of it. :(
Would anyone have his email or a way to contact him, possibly?
@ Alex --
What song frpm THE FABULOUS BAKER BOYS? "Makin' Whoopie?" Isn't that on the CD?
@ scoretooth --
Hey, I just had a look at your profile! CINEMASCORE!! They of RAW DEAL? I loved that score! Wonder if we can track 'em down. :)
@ --mcc - Drop me a line. I have no idea how to reach the Master C., but I can pass you "The Killers".
Actually...seems to be 2 versions, so let's talk.
@prospero
Your little verse reminded me of the old classic by Ogden Nash:
I think I shall never see
A billboard lovely as a tree.
Indeed, unless the billboards fall,
I shall never see a tree at all.
@ mcc
Either way, great stuff!!!
SToothy
Heloo¡
@Mcc: The problem is that I have the original score of "The fabulous baker boys" and there are only two of the song that the great Pffeifer sings. I want the other songs not released in the soundtrack, like "Feelings", etc, etc. And only is possible with a dvd rip or something like that
@Scoreteeth: I want to listen the previews of future soundtracks that will arrive this year, especially "Australia" by David Hirschfelder and "Cheri" and "The curios casa of Benjamin Button" by Alexander Desplat. How do you get these previews? You are inside of the industry?
Thankssss, man
@ Alex
I know a guy who knows a guy, who knows a guy, who knows me. Other than that, I once said out loud to my Dentist that I'd surly give my two front teeth for all the film scores in the world... well, just take a look at my picture.
Keep a smile'n!
SToothy
@ scoretooth - And here I thought only the tooth fairy made dreams come true! ;)
They say the eyes are the window to your soul, but I can't stop looking at your tonsils every time you smile!
Bring on the sneak-peeks toothy!
If no one beats me to it, Leprechaun 2 (great score btw) is on its way tonite
@ ghost in reverse - Sorry if I am treading on your toes here, mine was also uploaded during the night, before I saw your message. Seems a shame to let the link go to waste...

Hopefully this will catch your attention in time.
I found it all very funny also.
@ gunshotwound
No, nobody has uploaded a scan yet. I've seen that size poster on the movieposters auction site, but the problem is that daggone crease that appears in the most inopportune of places in the logo. It's like that in all four files on that site. Thanks for the tip, though. Again, if anyone can scan the title logo for me at a high resolution I'd appreciate it.
@ gunshotwound -
Re: Edward David Zeliff
I just have to say this before Ruggo does. ;)
"God works in mysterious ways."
Thanks for pointing out the article.
anybody catch the LA Times article today on that blogger who leaked songs from the unreleased Guns n' Roses album? peep here:
http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-gunsnroses28-2008aug28,0,6914718.story
he's getting charged with a felony count, and he's facing up to 3 years and $250,000 in fines...apparently leaking copyrighted material on the internet before it's release date is now a felony...yikes!! i suggest we all be careful as to what we post!
@gunshotwound
@isbum
@Goglinscore
@ filmpac.
You were Quicker than the Eye, like Ben Gazzara would have said!
Does anybody have the new 2 disc release of Michel Legrand's gorgeous "The Happy Ending" (sold out)?
@ dylan - I 2nd that request!
We love Michel Legrand at this blog!
I am positive that Mel, Quinlan, and Tony would 3rd, 4th, and 5th this request!
Frank DeVol "Krakatoa, East Of Java" (1969), LP @320:
http://rapidshare.com/files/141408641/FDV-Krakatoa.zip

Howard Shore "The Departed" (2006), @320:
http://rapidshare.com/files/139658107/HS-Departed.zip
@ dylan - And Filmpac will 6th that request!
@ isbum & dylan
I do 4th it!
@ isbum
And I definitely 3rd a request for The Happy Ending!
@ filmpac
Doesn't matter to me where Krakatoa was in relation to Java but I'm glad to get another Frank De Vol score.
Thanks!

@isbum and friends...

@isbum - Great Saturday night specials. I look forward every week to see what you offer.
@Clint's Archive - Thanks so much for COUNTERFEIT TRAITOR. Never heard it before. I have TOMBSTONE @160. If you would like I will upload for you.
@riddim1903 - Thanks for all the John Scott and the private shares you offered.
@Clint's Archive - My TOMBSTONE is the regular 18 track version not the expanded. I'll still upload if you would like it.
@ gunshotwound
You have sent me spinning now, as I didn't know of an expanded version! I only have the 18 track version.
Hmmmm, now what?
Tell you what my friend, give it a couple of days, maybe our friends here can help us both out with an expanded version, if not, a 160 version would be most welcome, many thanks.

Never thought I'd be so happy to have tears in my eyes, totally heartbreaking, and overwhelming, thank you again.

Isbum will back me up when I say 'I know how you feel' ;-)
You have to be quick round these parts, but that only reiterates as to how good the quality of people are here.
Appreciate the offer,

Currently uploading "CARTOON CONCERTO" to Rapidshare, this is my first time uploading so I hope it works...
Look for it soon. I have tons of Bruce Broughton scores and , depending on how this first one goes, I will get to them all soon.
I am new here, but Isbum has done so much for score lovers, I just hope I will be able to contribute when I can.
@clint's archive
@ keving - Welcome out of the shadows buddy! How did your first upload go?
You guy's really chatted up a storm today, I don't know what or who to address first.
@ keving - Go ahead and post your copy of "Monster Squad" (preferably at 320 kbt). Bistis6 won't have a problem with it, he's a real mature guy. ;)
Like Ennioman says, we've all placed 2nd in the upload race here. :)

It's a very long story, but I remember learning about Williams in school (some 28 years ago)!

@ Attax, Reza, Ennioman - It's absolutely heartwarming to see you stopping by and sharing some music.
